- The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2 Review
No one seriously expected Volume 2 of Season 3 of The Witcher to save the show after Henry Cavill decided to leave and the creators went full "mask-off" with their comments. But HateWatchers is here with our Witcher Season 3 review to confirm it anyway! With viewership tanking, the best part of the show moving on, and fans in full attack mode, Season 3 was doomed before it started and Season 4, if it happens at all, be even DEADER on arrival. BUT that could lead to some pretty great hatewatching as the creators, with nothing left to lose, may double down on the virtue signaling forced diversity and modern messaging. Time will tell!

I’m so done with the show. Cavill deserved so much more.
if netflix thinks this show can survive without henry they are wrong, it barely had henry in it for season 2 and 3 and thats barely enough to keep the show watchable.
or it gets better who knows time wil tell
Exactly
It's not related , but a fun point is that vilgefortz's actor last name is Jadu, which is in Farsi , and Hindi literally means magic!
@@faghihimohammadShouldn't have been cast in the role
@RyanG0899 I think he played two scenes very well, first his fight with Geralt, and second, where he kidnapped the other mage with the book and sent him through portal(his gesture was cool🤣)
That finale was goofy as f*ck.. These writers never got it, and they made Geralt a side character in his own show....
When any kind of "ism," including racism or feminism , finds its way into media, it will ruin them!
On purpose.
Watched it for Henry. I can see why he bailed.
Don't care what happens next.
Feel bad for Liam. He's walking into a lost cause.
Liam has been a lost cause for a while now, so....
@@annai6393yeah. He doesn't have the star power as Cavill does. I cant name other movies/tv he's in. I only remember him from Hunger Games.
Ditto.
Henry is the Witcher,,,, so no ,, not watching if he’s not back
What they did to Dandelion is unforgivable
That's why I quit watching. Un subbed Netflix and didn't watch the rest of this season
I was extremely confused by that. He has only seemed to be a very heterosexual man, and very much in love with ladies….
It feels like Netflix’s The Witcher is becoming more and more like fan-fiction with every season.
Yep that was the last straw for me… I thought season 3 was alright up until that point… a couple of concerning things here and there but nothing to stop watching it over…. I finished up the season just to see the last episodes of Henry, but those episodes were really hard to get through. Just an awful way to end the season.
I came into this season with an open mind and willing to give season 4 a chance if the story was good…. But I can safely say, I will not be watching season 4 now… to me this series ended when geralt first finds ciri. At least that’s my head cannon now.
It's not related , but a fun point is that vilgefortz's actor last name is Jadu, which in Farsi , and Hindi literally means magic!
@@faghihimohammad really? Thank you man. I learnt something today
I hate it. Its genuinely the worst season of television in the last decade. Outside of GOT. Besides the writers are doing a Marvel style multiverse to explain the different GERALT. The writers don’t even know how to read because the Witcher franchise has many different worlds , not different versions of the same world. Plus if you know Blood Origin , you know Eredin Bréacc Glas , the king of the Wild Hunt is really non-threatening & is basically a joke so there is no hope of The show getting better. Things like this is why nobody cares about the writers & actors strike. They have really been making complete garbage tv shows recently. Willow , Rings of Power , Velma , Cleopatra , Blood Origin ,She Hulk & Secret Invasion. These are just the show's I can remember off the top of my head. There must be so many others. People are sick of watching terrible tv. Hollywood is determined to ruin it self & they have pissed the audience off so much that people are happy that they will be mostly gone
SEASON THREE HOT 🔥 GARAGE 🗑 GREAT HATEWATCHERS REVIEW 😡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I only made it two or three episodes into either, but I think the latest season of the handmaid's tale must be worse than this season of the witcher. the handmaid's tale has to be the TV show with the biggest drop in quality, it is incredible how bad it's gotten from a genuinely great starting point. the witcher was not as good to begin with and hasn't gotten as bad.
@semechkiforputin6920 I didn't know the handmaid tale is still going. I thought it ended years ago.
@@sofieruquiba1190 well, it stopped being good a few years ago. but with the latest season, it changed from meh to shockingly bad.
блять,как же ты правильно сказал
In season 1, about 20 mages stopped an army and about 10 mages. In season 3, a gathering of the 25+ most powerful mages in the world can't stop elves with bows and arrows. Also, funny how they didn't think that defending their headquarters would be a good idea.
My biggest question thus far…
Did Stregabor kill anyone with that flame attack? Seemed like they all came out of it untouched…
Yep, and all the main characters knew how to throw up bubble shields but everyone else forgot how...
😂 I said the same thing when I watched that scene
I think it was a gotcha. I thought streg used illusion magic.
Seems like the almighty Alzur’s Thunder easily dodged off with some bubble shit
@@user-ff5qw8jy7y dude I watched it last night and was thinking that the whole time like "this is a spell that they describe as a last resort spell that could kill you and you can just stick your arm up and make a bubble then you suddenly aren't able to be touched by this VERY powerful spell"
Loved season 1, liked season 2, suffered through season 3.
I watched season 3 up to where they made dandelion gay and immediately turned it off and haven't watched it since. I barely made it to that point, because it was so bad.
Exactly.
@@stephendees-lu4yqyes that was insufferable.
absolutely true. i LOVED the first 2 seasons and might even rewatch it every now and then as a tribute to my favorite game having a show which was sadly ruined by netflix's woke writing
Loved Season 1 & Season 2 Episode 1, hated Season 2, mildly bothered by Season 3 with some good scenes
Yen could freeze dwarves in the episode with the golden dragon. Why didn’t the mages freeze the soldiers in Aretuza? The whole army of mages cannot defeat 50 soldiers? How could the mages survive so far???
Indeed… We see some of these mages kill hundreds of soldiers at sodden? What changed
@@timwess1 They forgot to recast the Plot buff spell on themselves..
Don't think about it.
exactly. We also se the mages kill a LOT of archers, but somehow they keep spawning. That's so weird. Really makes no sense.
let not forget 30 mages defeated 1000 soldiers but now can't a small group of elves
I think that what was going on behind the scenes between the writers and Henry Cavill was personal. The show runners took a personal dislike to Henry because of his love and passion for the role and its source material and his willingness to fight for it, but they couldn’t care less. The clash became inevitable. Henry saw the writing on the wall, decided this was a lost cause and left. It must’ve been painful for him after he campaigned hard to get on the show. He’s moved on now but I bet he’ll be more careful signing on to future projects next time around. Especially if it’s based on literary sources.
Bring on warhammer:40k
Completely changing Radovid’s character, making Geralt a third wheel, turning Jaskier gay, hiring fat women to play mages that should be unquestionably sexy, deliberately avoiding feminine beauty and nudity at any cost despite the success of Season 1, butchering the plot of Blood of Elves in Season 2, himbo Vizimir, killing Witchers in their beds, race-swapping Fringilla - it’s all terrible. A shame because there are good scenes with Stregobor, Vilgefortz, Tissaia, Geralt, Dijkstra and Philippa, who were all casted well. Vilgefortz vs Geralt was great, it felt like Season 1.
right like as if they chose to be fat they are supposed to be hot not fucking whales like dude who is gonna choose to look like a whale
If Netflix could make Geralt gay too😂😂😂
They might as well make Geralt gay with Vesemir, Ciri loves Yennefer. I would love to see that kind of absurdity now.
And Eskel is still dead?
I was SO excited when I heard this show was being made. I read the books and played through all the games in anticipation. What a horrid nightmare it's been watching a show being made by people that hated such an AMAZING story and world. I pray that one day, when we forget about this show completely, someone will give this incredible world a proper television or film adaptation. I truly do.
Same.
The best what they did with the show is encouraging the one's who didn't read the books (like me) to do exactly that 📚🧐 And the show angers me even more... 😡
That's exactly what happened for me. I have one more book to go, and I'm grateful that season 1 and 2 made me want to read the books. It's really good. Anyone who reads the books understands better why the show, after season 3, is a disgrace and should die to never be talked about again.
I agree with you on everything. Henry Cavill was the reason I started watching. NO NEED FOR SEASON 4
This was the best analysis so far 😂 RIP Witcher. They crashed that plane hard.
Utterly wasted opportunity for a memorable show. Not bothering with season 3.
Yes, I am so done. The only reason I watched the Witcher was Henry Cavill & now there is no reason to watch it. And the ending just leaves you hanging, Henry Cavill has recovered and is walking away fine & that's the end - what ? Then season arrives and GERALT is Liam Hemsworth, are they kidding, we are just not to notice that GERALT is no longer Henry Cavill !!! WHAT - give me a brake. 🙁👎
Break*
So, The Witcher just became a crappy CW Game of Thrones rip off. Lauren H has zero creativity, writing ability, or self awareness. What a train wreck of a showrunner.
I have just started reading the books & I can already see the problems with the series. I enjoyed the monsters and sword fighting but feel it could have been so much better. I'm not even well versed in the witcher books. The one thing that I noticed was there was this huge war going on, but not once do you see it. You just hear about the niflguard threat but I never felt any threat.
This review is SPOT ON.
I dont watch a new movie or a new series to be reminded of the dumb politics we live in in THIS day and age i am trying to escape it for a few hours, it has no place in a medieval series like The Witcher.
Nobody seems to notice Istredd has disappeared, least of all Triss who sent him off to retrive the book of monoliths, which either disappeared with him or ended up in the dastardly hands of Vilgefortz.
Istredd, if you’re dead, RIP you under-appreciated dude.
yeah i felt istredd was a memorable character in all the seasons yet so underused, probably because he is a man while they gave so much screen time to characters i barely remembered(had to google so many times) or cared for.
Literally what I was thinking. Not even a mention of him possibly being dead.
What a strange departure from the books. The story is completely unrecognisable
I considered this the last season of the show, at this point its unsalvageable. The writers/producers and their mommas could try to spin it any way they want, but after watching the season it only served to validate why Henry Cavill decided to leave. I no longer have to wonder, I GET IT. There was an an absolute disconnect between the books, the game and how the show started. What's made it worse was them not caring and actually thinking it was all going to work! And it could've worked had they not 1) disrespected the geek (Cavill) and 2) not gone the GOT route.
Vilgefortz almost killed GERALT, but then decided to leave him undead, why because GERALT is the main character of the show, and also in the future GERALT can kill Vilgefortz. That fight had no real tension.
It's not related , but a fun point is that vilgefortz's actor last name is Jadu, which in Farsi , and Hindi literally means magic!
In the books Vilgefortz was more interested in getting to Ciri than finishing Geralt off. To him Geralt was just an obstacle to run past, not something worth wasting precious time he could be using to get to Ciri
@@faghihimohammadok ok you told us this 3x
@@shayxtreme 😂 because that's a very cool coincidence 😂
You can feel in your bones that the writers trying hard to be the next Game of Thrones...
I like the witcher universe but im not watching this show anymore because its essentially just a successful name being used for someone to push their real life agenda and virtue signal to the audience. The life and soul of the show is gone with Cavil leaving, and with that I think they will stray even further from the source material in the future and essentially write an entirely different story. At least with Cavil there was something to enjoy, even if they relegated him to 10 minutes of screen time each hour.
I wonder if they'll use the strike to cancel season 4 and 5? They should.
I think they should too. If the unions decide to strike as long as the rumors state, I expect any shows that cost a lot to make and that are not predicted to do well, are going to be canceled.
i rather put 200 more hours into Witcher 3 NG+ than keep watching this...Cavill gone is a Deathsentence, allthoug going down Ciri's Path might save the show from utter disaster, but thats a pretty dark one. They tied up some Storyline plots from the Books way too early, so whats left for her ? Looking at Blood Origins, this gona get canceled sooner than u might expect.
I’m replaying it right now so I can delete this season from my mind
In October 2022, I very much regretted Henry Cavill leaving The Witcher. Now, I am happy for him. He made the right choice.
Netflix thinks they can do whatever they want and we will accept it just like that, well the. Let us remind them that actions have consequences!
I watched it all and I don't see how the creators of the show can move forward. They have killed every one of importance. Episode 7 was insufferable. The fight scenes were awesome but that was all. The rest is garbage. No Henry Cavill ~ I am finished with this mess.
No Henry = No Witcher…. RIP 😢
Lost interest somewhere in season 2. Too much wokeness and gay stuff. It was clear the creators left the Witcher behind and were pushing "the message", not storytelling ... The Witcher.
Have you even read the books? They are woke AF. They include bisexual characters (one of the main ones, no spoilers), consensual inter-species group sex, a big abortion subplot with clear pro-choice stances. The whole set-up of the world is based on inequality, discrimination and prejudices. Elves are thinly veiled as Jews (or maybe Roma), and treated similarly as these groups were in medieval and early modern time in Europe. Witchers are hated for what they are and what they do. Gnomes, dwarves and other creatures are also regularly mistreated and thought less of because of who they are. Nilfaard is brutal and imperial, but it does enforces equal treatment of non-humans.
The story already had A LOT of progressive shit in it.
All the series producers were to do was to embrace the things that were already there. Heck, they could have made the elves darker (going the route of Jews/Roma, one could justify making the elves and half-elves looking Semitic or Indian) and really lean into the discrimination. And they failed to show even the very basic thing like the witchers being disliked or even feared.
Personally, I don't really care about inclusivity or not. As long the story is good all I care about. The problem with this season really is none of the actors, even the side ones, it's how they did season 3 overall. Having everyone's focus being on Ciri, breaking the hands of the fire mage but not killing him; but then making his mission about killing him I was like.... okay? Then Ciri getting protagonist headaches in episode 2, freeing the captive, and unable to go through the portal. The entire season just felt drawn out.
IN a world with magical healers, breaking bones is just a temporary inconvenience
I didn't watch season 3 but I have to say: Your short recap actually sounded a lot like what was happening in the book, which absolutely surprised me.
In other video reviews, season 3 apparently tried to go back to the books but bec they deviated too much in season 2, it got too convoluted and messy in some areas. Esp since they also have so many unnecessary scenes
Indeed, season 3 goes back closer to the original story. First part wasn't so catchy, but the second part compensates just so much. Overall-not bad but the whole story comes out of nowhere because of season 2 as a prequel. And again - they've missed so many great details from the books....and created their own instead.
As soon as they announced Cavill was gone, the Witcher was over for me.
The departure of Henry Cavill will mark the end of THE WITCHER 🗡series. Season 4 won't come any time soon with the Writers' Strike. NETFLIX they will regret it! the future will tell
Watching Ciri at the end of season 3 is like watching Aria when she went off to Braavos. Hated that part of the show. I LOVE Witcher BECAUSE of Henry Cavill....and I'll wait for season 4, but...we'll see.
Like the desert stuff with Ciri was literally a waste of time and the writing was so unintelligent and unimportant. They seem to have drastically overestimated their writing skills. It was a yikes them ripping off GoT dialogue 😂
I do think AI would have made a far superior job adapting those books than those writers with an agenda. Nothing was good about this show except Henry Cavill.
We saw Ciri kill more monsters than the Witcher in the Witcher 🤦🏾♂️
As soon as I heard that Cavil was leaving because the show left the source material, I stopped watching. I respect a person that respects the source material. It is what makes a storyline is what it is. To leave that, is to disrespect what made it great. All the best to Henry!
Lol, I swear I told my gf ,for 3 seasons. All they did was lose Ciri ,find Ciri , lose Ciri, and find Ciri.... 😂😂 oh, and empower women .... men yucky!
Yea I'm done. I stopped watching after I noticed they butchered dandelion errr I mean Jaskier. That was enough. Un Subbed Netflix and didn't wat h the 2nd part. I get more interestiny episodes playing the quest lines both Witcher 1 n 2
To be fair, the books also focus in politics a bit too and there's not really that much monster hunting, but still, yes, the story of the source is still better
We didn’t read the books, but we saw how the butchered the series. We fast forward the majority of the last 3 episodes, me asking my wife (do you care about X person, and then completely skipped the scene) this happened a lot. We completely skipped the desert episode of Ciri. Honestly we were pissed on how stupid the series is. I am actually happy that Henry left. He knew that there was saving this dumpster fire.
I quit watching the show two or three episodes into this season. I had no prior witcher exposure, but I expected it to be a great show based on the first season. however, the show always had a pretty huge problem of seeming to rely on viewers already knowing the witcher universe - I would watch the show and like it, and then watch youtube videos about it that informed me of all the ways I had no clue what I was watching. it's a problem I also had with the much worse and tremendously boring villeneuve dune movie, though with the witcher it's not quite as bad as with dune. with the witcher, you can still follow the plot in a shallow but reasonably straightforward way by just being attentive, whereas watching the dune movie without prior plot and character knowledge just leaves you baffled by the garbage writing.
GOT and HOT D are great counterexamples, as they both have already known plots and a target audience that partially knows them, but the shows still take care to present a complete picture of the main plot on screen, so you can understand what's going on purely from watching the shows, and the shows function as standalone media. and I don't think that one can claim that the witcher and villeneuve dune manage to present more complexity or depth of plot by not bothering to flesh out the basics. GOT also has plot lines going on that a first time viewer will miss, and plenty of potential for fan engagement, but the part that a first time viewer will understand is a functionally complete story.
I hate this replacement. Henry played this part as he does any role perfectly! He is an excellent actor and really brought the Witcher to life. I cannot stand to watch it with Liam in the role. I'll miss the Witcher cause Yen and Ciri are both excellent in their roles. Uggg so mad!!!
Spot on, love your review. 👏🏼 totally agree with all of it. And I’m sad to said after enjoying the first season that I no long care about the characters!!
Its rly sad Netflix is doing this , and even more sad is they wont learn from the mistakes and keep going ! I liked all 3 seasons of the Witcher good or bad they was cool and the fact they choose Cavil to play it was so amazing cos he fit the role. Thats the only positive thing towards Netflix , and i rly wna tell them thanks for those 3 seasons but honestly i wont return for season 4 even if is good.
Does certain spell in this series work?
So they needed to respect the lore and at the same time to ignore Ciri and all the political intrigue and make the show about the Witcher hunting monsters all around the continent? They need better writers for sure to make viewers engage with all plot lines and characters but there’s no way this season was going to be about Geralt and his monsters if they really wanted to follow Time of Contempt
The whole saga is full of wars, conspiracy and politics and lots of Ciri
Everyone's pretty much covered my feelings. RIP Witcher.
As someone who is really into the witcher universe I thought ep 1 to 6 was totally fine, but the last 2 eps really bumed me out and felt like I just wasted my time.
Man I dipped out about 3 episodes into season 2, it just wasn't about Geralt or the lore. And Ciri's power doesn't work that way lol, but why am I complaining, nothing in this show is accurate.
Glad this is dead.
Three lines from Game of Thrones, at least. What Philippa says about Tissaia during Episode 5 when she's talking to Yennefer... this stuff about 'the sweet poison of love that kills nonetheless' that's Game of Thrones too... Cersei Lannister to Sansa somewhere in Season 2 I think. ;)
I was done with the show after season 2, episode 4. At that point, I got fed up with the BS and that was it, Henry or no Henry. Just watched reviews and summaries on CZcams which only confirmed my opinion. And that was it for me...
The primary failure may be linked to a single underlying issue: the attempt to tell an Eastern European story while still complying to current world representation norms. These components seem out of place in the story's conventional framework, whether it is the inclusion of particular sexual orientations or considerations of color of skin. The tale may lack consistency and authenticity as a result of this discrepancy between the traditional or cultural core of the legend and current societal norms.
It's more than that, it's hatred of the source material and white people in general. Small hats are subversive
Yeah they messed up Dandelion, got it all wrong, and this was a great video and review. Lauren H is a piece of ****. Thank you for your review. It would be nice if a different organization picked this up and did it right the next time. As a huge Witcher fan, im just stuck on how this turned out and the fact what we got, is all were going to get in the form of movie/tv. Ready for the next game to come out too.
Not to mention the turd of a casting director.
Protector and adopted father. Geralt is her fate father and dandelion name is dandelion.....he was always flamboyant in the game and books if memory serves.
Hugely disappointed Henry Cavill left. Not sure if the show will continue. The season 4 production date has been pushed from September to January. I think they are trying to get him back. Netflix is flushing ESG driven DEI hires. As the other media companies are. The strike is allowing contracts to be cancelled. Force majeure.
I was surprised, the battle episode came first, then two slow-paced plot building episodes ready for Season IV. I haven't read the source material, i dont know that the episode with Ciri in the desert wilderness is quite literal to the books...but to me it was drawn out far too long, it was clear the character building moment and how it would develop her character, so why it was spread over 45-50mins vs. a 5min recap. Comparing that to how swiftly the battle moved, Stregobor's move to redemption arc for example, was washed over in about 10 frames, never mind minutes.
I completely disliked the 3rd season. It clearly did not have any of the “feel” of what a Witcher show should have been.
As someone reading the books it’s amazing how much quality and intelligence they have drained from the books. How flat it all is in comparison - no confusion in books what goals are 😂
I watched it for Henry Cavill. In hindsight I wish I hadn't given Netflix the viewership or the second month subscription.
After a halfway decent ep. 6 (opinions reserved) Geralt gets sidelined for the rest of the season. Then belittled and talked down to by a diverse she-elf. Funny how they only follow the lore when its convenient to snub Henry. Here is hoping Amazon allows him to do his new 40K project his way. Though after Warner Bros & Netflix forcing him out I'm frankly losing faith at this point. Prove me wrong!.. please
Me to first season: perhaps I treated you too harshly😢
FInally. We can now get Henry to Westeros
Anyone else annoyed by the lack of passion between Yen and Geralt? Twice they had to say goodbye to each other and yet didn't kiss once. In the books they are super passionate. You think they would when there's a chance they might not see each other again. Annoying when we get plenty of pointless make out scenes from side characters (Jasker/Phillipa), but not the main couple
Yeah the chemistry was gone. And their dialogues were so lame.
I am not very familiar with the original material (books and games), but I enjoyed season 1 for the characters, the twisted plot and the good action. Season 2 had its moments but felt lengthy at times. The first part of season 3 I have forgotten already even though I watched it just 3 weeks ago. Might have continued to finish the rest just out of habit, but with that gap of a few weeks I didn't restart and probably I never will.
Yeah I always intended to watch all the episodes he was in. I 100% will never watch another episode beyond that. Will be the easiest decision ever.
The first season was adequate. The second started slipping hard. I didn't watch season 3 beyond about 15 miutes.
It is terrible that things are ruinined nowaday by special interests.
By special interests you mean small hats
Thank you for this review and analysis!
I haven’t read the books yet, and I haven’t played the game. I used to be a very serious gamer in the 90’s & early 2000’s, but I had to cut back in the mid 2000’s after an accident. I would experience excruciating pain in my hands, wrists and lower arms after 30 minutes.
Anyways, I binged the first season and I figured out that the timeline was jumping around pretty early on. I really thought that was clever. I really like the character Triss and the actress who played her. There were a few things that felt ‘off’ when I watched the season, and I couldn’t quite place what it was. I did recognize that they seemed to be inserting a lot of diversity into the show, and were focusing a lot on women. (Note: I’m a female.)
Now, after hearing that this director was pushing her agenda, a lot of what I thought didn’t really make sense, character or “world wise”, now has an explanation. Even the side character of Triss has felt like a completely different individual since the end of season 2.
Now even hearing that a POC actress was picked is extremely disappointing.
(1/2)
What really bemused me now is Season 3 Part 2. Because the director forced in all of this diversity/ESG, I assume episode 3.6 was a horrifying bloodbath for certain progressive individuals.
Previously, it seemed like if someone was to die, the highest odds were it would be a white man and next would be a white woman. In that battle, they had to kill all kinds of individuals.
Oh, and just a quick rant, what was up with the desert scenes and the funeral scene? I was bored out of my mind. At least the first season kept me interested, I felt like I was being punished during those scenes. I actually got up and unloaded the dishwasher during the funeral and the desert parts.
My favorite part of Netflix’s Witcher series was Geralt with Renfri. Some other highlights were episodes when it focused on him and his adventures. I’ve rewatched these and I just fast forward through the other nonsense.
After the first season, I went off and watched a ton of reviews/commentary on the Witcher and I feel terrible for the true fans for what was taken from them. I’m a Lord of the Rings fanatic, and I’m sure you all know the disaster that Rings of Power is.
I don’t plan on watching any future seasons of Witcher. I will very likely just watch the commentary from other CZcamsrs. That’s what I did for Velma and other shows like it. The commentary really amused me at times.
I’m boycotting this season entirely, after what they did in season two and with Henry. I wanted a fairly “realistic” depiction of the middle ages as it is in the books, but we got a teenage melodrama, no thanks.
Thank you! you summed up and put in to words everything I think and feel currently about this show.
Yes, I am done .. reading the books now for the true story
The books are so good! I started reading them waiting for season 3. Season 3 is a disaster. At least we have the books!
The biggest problem of the Season 3 is ... Season 2. They tried to fix as much as possible. I was ready to finish with Henry, Freya's last scene with her amazing "Call me Falka" make me to think about giving S4 a chance. May be I'm to easy to be satisfied after S2, Ciri's cream from Yennefer in Korath did the job well. As in lore.
I said when when the credits ran on season 2 episode 2 I wanted this show to fail, badly.
So I’m ecstatic it’s going down the pan, I celebrated when Cavill left. His reputation was taking a hit for staying. You can’t be ‘king of the nerds’ and stay in that job. 90% of this fan base only love Cavill, before he announced his leaving they were telling us book readers to stfu and consume. So rightly, it has been glorious to watch it all burn down. Didn’t watch a single second of season 3, glad I didn’t. I’ve been listening to the books again at work and plying the games again and it’s glorious.
As a true Witcher fan this has been painful to watch. I haven't watched the final episode as the second last one was so nauseating I'm not sure I can do it. Netflix is absolutely destroying itself.
I was hoping to find enough in this season to watch next season without Cavill, but no. The only thing that is stopping me from watching seasons after the one I just forced down, is the writing. When seeing the trailers for season 1, I will admit I was worried about Anya being a forced Yennifer. I hope her acting could keep up, because she's definitely stunning. IMO her acting is great, as well as most of the main cast. I would be happier if they just canceled the show, grabbed new writers, said, "we are writing a unique show about Ciri after the books. The lore will be our own and we will no longer taint the original".
Watching Henry in this show was like watching Mark Hamil struggle through the Star Wars sequels with professionalism.
i'm done with netflix before even Witcher start. Right after Cleopatra joke
I quit my Netflix account by January this year. After that abomination called Blood Origin - I thankfully didn't care to watch at all - I refused to pay that company any more money. And when Henry said he was quitting after Season 3 due to lack of quality - how low could it get when Season 2 was already a low point for the Witcher Universe?
To The Witcher I would say Go woke Go broke
It's amusing a Video Game series that is completely not part of Witcher Canon, was three-thousand times more faithful to the source material than a TV Series Adaptation
The source material was so good it’s sad the writers f-ed it up
I did a google search on the 100 most watched shows for 2022/23. The list is full of police, medical and legal dramas. Fantasy is not popular - reaching #63 Quantum Leap, #81 House of the Dragon, #85 The Walking Dead. I only watch fantasy and sci-fi. So, yes, I am going to continue watching shows like The Witcher, Marvels, Mandalorian, RIngs of Power, Secret Invasion, Star Trek SNW, etc, despite these overly critical reviews. BTW, I have not read The Witcher books and I feel the show is acceptable entertainment.
I find it hard to accept that season 4 is finally gearing up to have one of the most action packed and thrilling story lines, but we will never have Henry as Geralt anymore. The fight with him and Vilgefortz and his final fight against Nilfgardian soldiers were the only saving grace of this horrible season.
These last few episodes did it for me 😡 having to sit though an entire episode while that girl walked though a desert by herself...I can't believe I wasted an entire hour on that BULLSH*T! The beginning of season 3 was bad enough but what they've done now...I've never been so bored in my life! they obviously had no script but they just wanted to stretch it out anyway. the last 3 episodes were absolutely HORRIBLE!
If season 4 come out, I'll watch it. Even if Henry is not playing Geralt anymore. I want to give Liam a chance. What I am afraid of, is Geralt becoming a complete secondary character and weak.
The sandman is a great example of how to adapt books/comics to a tv show. The reason nobody cares that some of the characters have changed race or gender in sandman is because the actors give incredible and faithful performances, here in the Witcher it added absolutely nothing and took everything away from the original material. No season 4 for me thanks
Althought I agree with you, Sandman is boring as watching paint dry
In what world are you living in that no one cared about race and gender swaps in the sandman? It was EVERYWHERE! All over the internet, on every Facebook and Instagram post, in every thread in every forum. It had the absolute WORST level of shoehorned diversity in any adaptation that Netflix churned out. They ruined practically every part of that show save for Dream.
@@iReturnV1deotapes as long is good acting, whats The diference? These are fictional characters, and no, their legacy don't change they are made up. The problem here that The writing ia shit🤷
Netflix Season 4: Jaskier is a woman after a transition! :P
Honestly felt like really nothing big happened this season. Even less geralt, and no sort of actual finally like the previous 2 seasons. It ends right before some actual good action, but of course we are losing the best part of the show right before that. well time to wait 3 years for more garbage
Geralt vs vilgerfortz? And the elves battle?
Hi - never played the game, but something tells me that having about 20 minutes of actual Witcher scenes in a 9 episode season would make anyone question what the heck they are actually watching. Additionally, having all but 5 minutes of that actually include fighting for a game based on action… well, makes me wonder what they heck they are trying to do. Based on what I’ve seen, I’m sad to say that unless things change drastically, I’m out.
Since you asked, I didn't even watch season 2 and was done with the show halfway through season 1. I like Cavill and admire his love for the books and games, but that isn't nearly enough to watch this ... product.
There seems to be a belief that viewers will watch whatever they are told and will like it….unfortunately Netflix this is not true…
When I started watching Witcher, I didn't expect him end up being a nanny/bodyguard. I am done.
Streg didn't have a 'redemption', he was just trying to use his magic to wipe out elves who he hated and discriminated against anyway. Nothing to cheer.
if u compare henry from season 1 to 3........you can see his really depress in the show.
his movements, his energy....its almost gone in season 3
he knew it was over.
he acted sad.
just feel his energy.
the witcher without henry is like the simpsons without homer.
its NOT THE SAME.
Season 1 Dandelion knocked out a banger of a chune
Season 2 Dandelion pulled a deadpool and started mocking the audience
Season 3 Dandelion sang a ringtone along the lines of "doo doo doo, im shit and thats all you get lalala", at which point Radovid creamed his pants and asked to get pegged
Lol they teased the wild hunt at the end of season 2, only to show them for like 2 minutes in the beginning of part 1 and then completely dropped them. No explanation. That poor actress who played Philippa had some of the most ham fisted lines I've ever heard
