  • Hey, guys, this is a quick review and my personal view on the Makita trim router which I have bought for my CNC because the old one wasn't powerful enough but I have to admit that this trim router is really freaking awesome. If you are in a market and willing to purchase a trim router then highly recommend grabbing one of these.

I'm used to larger, corded routers czcams.com/users/postUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.

Top review of this excellent little router. I've owned mine for years, but was just wondering how powerful it really is. I am about to make some kitchen cabinet doors - about 20 in all - and don't want to run the risk of burning out the motor. I have a half inch router, but have found this one much easier to adjust in my makeshift router table. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

At the end of the video, you used fixed base to plunge, is that safe? Meaning, Can you use fixed base to plunge into the work piece without starting from the end of the board?

Buy from a reputable dealer in a bricks and motor store. Don't buy online.
