Environmental Geosciences Undergraduate here: polyethylene is 100% not good for the environment. It causes serious deformities and reproductive issues in wildlife and while it is still difficult to completely understand the long term consequences we do know that it is negatively impacting the biological systems of marine life and coral reefs. Thank you for posting this! After learning this I looked into how many cleansing balms contain polyethylene, many of which claim to be "cruelty-free" and "clean beauty brands" (i.e. Farmacy, Glow Recipe, etc.). I think this is an ingredient we need to draw more attention to and make sustainably minded consumers more aware of. Thank you for helping me become more educated on this form of micro plastics!

I remember in 8th grade, I went on a trip with my class to Rome and Spain, and I got the worst face sunburn I’ve ever had. I only had the tiny little moisture surge travel size tube my mom gave me and I PUT THAT SHIT ONNNN. It healed my skin in a week and I didn’t come home with this disgusting peeling, red skin. Clinique changed my skin!!! Idk if I could ever give it up. I had cystic acne and I’m very sensitive, but I’ve never struggled with Clinique at all! Plus the alcohol that is used in the clarifying lotions is a specifically trademarked alcohol that is NOT the same as Isopropyl. Plus, it is supposed to be stripping, it strips off dead skin and dirt which increases absorption of moisturiser. It’s NOT to be used alone. I swear by it 👀

Carrie Wohlers , YES! My skin is Dry to very Dry, and I use the Clinique moisturizer in their Smart collection which is $58! It’s killing me to spend that much. It’s the best I can find for my dry skin without having to resort back to Vaseline. I have tried to find a better option but I have failed miserably. Have you tried the Dramatically Different lotion by Clinique? It’s the one he likes, and if your skin isn’t as dry as mine then you’ll probably like that one. I can get away with alternating those two. I can use the Dramatically different lotion in the morning and my heavy cream at night. Just so I don’t go through my Smart moisturizer so fast.

Idk, the clinique clarifying lotion is my favorite toner, that I have used since my mid-20s. I'm in my mid-30s, and have tried many many brands of toners. It does NOT burn my skin at all, does not cause any redness/irritation, and is VERY different from the toners found in drug stores. It exfoliates my skin in the best way possible for me. I have seen my cotton circle dark with the day's dirt on my face when using this product, whereas i see nothing even close to that on having used other toner brands. Maybe my skin isn't sensitive, so it loves this product. My pores are nice and tight. My skin is left feeling fresh and clean.
As for the dramatically different gel, I love that I can apply this and not feel my face is all greasy. You must really do have sensitive skin- I have never had any irritation from using this product. Those are the only two skin care products I use from Clinique at this time.
The price is just right- the products are not overpriced. Guess if someone has a limited budget, I could see how the product would seem overpriced.

@@maticbukovac6966 I'm aware there's many different compounds in most essential oil formulae but the issue is the oils themselves are often irritants and the benefits for them being applied directly to the skin are backed up with sponsored research done by the people selling these oils. Natural products do work; aspirin is found in tree bark, it's just we now have the facilities to concentrate it to much higher amounts making it considerably more concentrated and therefore more useful. Pure essential oils can be useful; peppermint oil is used all the time with IBS, but applied directly to facial skin it would cause damage. Essential oils in cosmetics are often at very dilute concentrations so probably aren't harmful, but to get the benefits you'd need pretty much pure essential oils which would be damaging to the face. My point with water facilities was that scientific research has progressed massively in the last 2000 years so why would I copy what people did a millennia ago? I wouldn't follow their medical advice why would I follow their skincare routines.
Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever agree, as our views conflict on most issues- farming and big corp. Big corp are buying up natural beauty they don't need to sabotage it- burts bees for example (I used to love them before they were sold off, I don't hate all things natural lol). Here is a full sourced article with links to official published data regarding organic; blogs.scientificamerican.com/science-sushi/httpblogsscientificamericancomscience-sushi20110718mythbusting-101-organic-farming-conventional-agriculture/ this just covers it better than I could.
And finally I went to Durham University, a UK top 5 University, and world top 100. The Pharmacy school has now moved to Newcastle University where the school currently stands as no.1 Pharmacy school in the UK. The way you asked was a tad patronising as I'm not sure why it's relevant but I felt the need to defend my position. If you want a copy of my degree or my pharmacist registration number I'd be happy to send it directly.

Doesn't matter what it's called in Eastern Europe, they called "holy water" holy and guess what, it doesn't do anything.
If they work for you, great, your skin isn't as sensitive as others, however research shows that for the majority of people it's a known irritant. This isn't some sort of crusade against natural remedies, it's just scientifically proven facts.

I’ve only been using one product (the Hydrating Water Essence) because some of the first ingredients are good ones: glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and niacinimide. There’s a lot of product for a low price which I love but I wanted to know your thoughts.

Ashley Lynn Waldron so hyaluronic acid on the label is a no no. You want to look for sodium hyaluronate instead because it’s molecularly smaller and more readily absorbed by your skin.

I just started using the redness solutions cleanser and the dramatically different moisturizing gel for my sensitive and oily skin. I use an acne treatment from another brand but these are wonderful basic skincare products. I also started using the Deep Comfort Body Wash and my sensitive, itchy body skin has been very calm.

ive been using the 72 hour hydration lotion for a year now and im so happy you love it. before i started caring more about skincare, i had an incredibly oily face. i refused to put on any lotions because it only made me feel more oily. but i decided to try this moisturizer because i got it in a free gift set, and i was hooked. ironically, putting extra moisture into my face dramatically reduced my oil in my skin. i guess it was just overproducing oil because it was so thirsty for it. i also just got first aid beauty's ultra repair cream to see if it worked just as well for a cheaper price.

im in a water treatment program at my college. the stuff that goes down the drain goes straight to a waste water treatment plant via a sanitary sewer. sanitary meaning it goes straight from the house to the plant with some pump stations here and there to keep it going
(there is also a stormwater sewer and a combined. combined are usually only used in DENSELY populated areas and require a very high capacity treatment plant, or many small ones, at the other end. very rarely do these overflow and usually the plants will make sure it has some form of treatment if that does happen OR the water is so diluted, from rain usually, that it wont have a significant impact if any. when i say "some form" i mean it usually goes thru the plant quicker. not just a splash of chlorine. most of the time when a plant is having high influent itll just reduce the detention time of everything or pump excess into a pond specifically for holding excess water that the plant cant handle)
waste in the water received at the plant is filtered out using bar racks, chemicals, and clarifiers ( clarifiers allow the chemicals to work their magic and make the waste stick together causing it to either sink or float where it is then scraped off and put into another area to be either incinerated, dried out and taken to a suitable landfill, or converted into fertilizer. ***fun fact detroit sends ALL their waste over seas cause some company in europe likes it and uses it as fertilizer. these ppl litterally purchased it MANY yrs in advance. crazy right?***. there are also other clarifiers like trickling filters which use existing organism to clarify the water but that is also followed by a traditional clarifier cause these organism reproduce and fall off the media its on need to be filtered out) so really not a lot of the stuff we put down our drains really ends up in the ocean. (granted some of it probably does, but not a huge amount. which ya. that little bit is still realy bad) it, for the most part, ends up in landfills, the air, and our feilds. which is still a reason not to use these things. like do yall really wanna be BREATHING that stuff in? so really it ends up somewhere even worse than the ocean. cause in the air, itll slowly kill anything on the land including trees. which are like.....the main reason earth is habitable. and here is where i plug teamtrees.org/
$1 equals 1 tree closer to saving the friken planet from the sun's fiery rays. in other words
Hyram says " YALL SHOULD BE WEARING SUNSCREEN" and he is friken right. so why not help earth put her sunscreen on? hmmm? HMMMM? you heard me. you heard hyram. suncreen is important. trees are earth's sunscreen. lets plant some trees. ***another fun fact. the world has lost about half of its original trees since the rise of humans. thats concerning dont ya think?***
    have a beautiful day fam

I’ve been using the moisture surge at night to rehydrate my skin because sometimes I take too long to apply my serums and stuff so I’m glad to see you like that one the best. That being said, as someone with sensitive dry skin Clinique might as well be acid lol. It zapped whatever moisture I had left and irritated the shit out of my skin as a young person tiptoeing into skin care. In my grown age now I know why. Thanks for this informative video Hyram!
