I remember a girl from my psychology class during college. She was heavily pregnant but still attending classes. One time, we had a game in class where we pick a piece of paper from the glass bowl and read the question and answer it in front of the class. She got the question of 'If you can turn back time, what event you want to change from your past? ' then she answered when she got married. She told us she's adopted and her adopted parents forced her to marry. She begged them not to but they never felt pity on her. That's when she realized her adopted parents never love her. In a shaky voice and teary eyes, she told us that if she could turn back time she will escape and do everything in her power not to be married. I feel so sorry for her. That is when I realized how she was always look sad and quiet. She just got married and got pregnant right away.

I think it depends on culture. American culture is too Luke warm and you're treated like infants until you're 30 so of course a 15 year old woman from America shouldn't get married.
Even though that was the norm all over the world until about 60 years ago.

However, I do believe that there should be restrictions on why. It makes sense if it is there cultural but as in instances such as this, there is no cultural or even religious reason why a marriage makes sense. It was simply a child predator and should have been prevented. Now, is there room for error? Yes. Absolutely. And we should work hard to make sure it happens as little times as possible...or never.

My mom at age 17 married my 28-year-old father mainly because my grandmother put a lot of pressure on my mother telling her she needs to find a man with money to take care of her (my grandma loves money) plus she fell pregnant with me too so they got married at the courthouse & my mom lived 8 miserable years with my dad out of state & unfortunately he constantly isolated her & was a controlling alcoholic so she took me at age 7 & left back to Virginia on Christmas Eve, they had the divorce finalized two years later so my parents are now another statistic. To be honest I've never once thought of my mom as a child bride before because she grew so fast having to raise me so I viewed her as this super smart adult when I was little & at that time she would've been around the age that I am now in her 20s, but me myself, I could never imagine having to do all of that now like yeah I feel ready to get married at 25 to my 27 y/o fiance but we're in no rush but she obviously encourages me not to be impulsive with a decision like marriage based on her own past experience. Now does this technically mean I'm a product of child marriage? That's really weird to think about yikes.
