  • #Mauritius in the #IndianOcean is known for its sparkling crystal and turquoise waters. The contrast of colours, cultures and tastes makes the island a location for an unforgettable holiday. Mauritius offers the opportunity to unparalleled luxury, a level of refinement that is ahead of many other other tropical holiday destinations. Mauritius was named after Dutch Prince Maurice Van Nassau.
Mauritius' white beaches are protected by a coral reef barrier that encircles almost all of the coastline, with the exception of the southern end, where it falls away and where wilder waters and dramatic cliffs can be observed. From the northern plains, the land rises to a central plateau dotted by lakes and extinct volcanic craters. A few uninhabited islets area are scattered around the main island.
Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, was founded by the French governor and colonist Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais in 1735. Situated on the north-west coast, Port Louis is the business and administrative capital of Mauritius. Packed with office-workers during the day, it quickly quietens down after office-hours allowing visitors to enjoy a night out along the famous Caudan Waterfront.
The south reveals a dramatically different landscape from the rest of the island: one typified by high cliffs in places that are battered by waves. These are created where the protective barrier of coral reef that surrounds Mauritius falls away on the seabed, so leaving the coastline exposed to the punishing Indian Ocean. But the south is not singularly about cliffs and rough waters. Further round the coastline, heading westwards, is an array of beautiful beaches and top-rated hotels and resorts, in up-and-coming areas such as Bel Ombre.
The eastern coastline of Mauritius is comprised of exquisite coves and emerald lagoons, permanently enhanced by a cool sea breeze: life goes by at a slow pace in the east whether you're a member of the fishing community or a holidaymaker. Situated between the mountains and the sea, the east is characterised by charming little villages with poetic names like Petite Julie, Mare d'Australia and Queen Victoria. It also plays home to some of the country's best beaches, including Belle Mare, where you will want to spend hours basking in the sun, glorying in the sight of the long stretch of white sand.
To the west and south-west of Mauritius off Tamarin Bay or Flic en Flac, heading in the direction of Île aux Benitiers, you can see the dolphins that come to these waters to rest and breed. The Morne Mountain, with its historical links to slavery, can also be found in this region --as well as some fine hotels are known for their wide choice of watersports. Slightly inland, in the hills around Chamarel, is the rum distillery that bears the name of the village. Here, you can learn about rum production and taste some of the delightful produce.
Inland & Central Plateau of Mauritius is the 'highlands' where you will discover the island's four other major towns. In Quatre Bornes, head for the local market if you want to do some bargain-hunting. In Curepipe, where it is generally cooler than elsewhere on the island, try visiting the botanical gardens. In the early evening, the gardens of the Plaza -- the municipal theatre of the town of Rose Hill -- fill up with families who come to relax and enjoy an ice--cream. This is a heart-warming sight definitely worth beholding. Vacoas, meanwhile, is most renowned for its Gymkhana Golf Club the oldest in the southern hemisphere.

I've been to Mauritius 3 times - the people are one of the most polite I've come across. There are so much to see. Incredible beaches, Wildlife Parks, Black River National Park and Gorge, a few waterfalls. Iles deux Cerfs is amazing and so was Iles deux Cocos too. Although the country is majority Hindus with some Christians and Muslims but as a muslim traveller myself, the food is halal as I've been told by the Mauritian locals that the meat suppliers in this country are muslims

Stealthily backed by the Indian government, Mauritius is secretly taken over by persons who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin. These persons are now in charge of all the major government departments of Mauritius and they cleverly and cunningly work in such way that is beneficial for themselves and the Indian economy only, even though that is harmful to the Creole Mauritians and other minorities living in Mauritius. The Mauritian government (dominated by persons who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin) discriminates against the Creole Mauritians and other minorities by miss-utilizing their funds without their consent from banks and other financial institutions and these funds are used to invest in Indian economy. The profits from these investments are cleverly distributed largely among Hindu Indian concerns in Mauritius or among persons who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian Origin, while the Creole Mauritians and other minorities are grossly neglected. In case of any loss from these investments neither the Indian government nor the Mauritian citizens who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin suffer any loss because the invested money belonged only to the Creole Mauritians and other minorities. To do business in Mauritius, the Mauritian government (dominated by persons who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin) grants many permissions and incentives to Indian businessmen or to those Mauritian businessmen who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin while those Mauritian businessmen who belonged to the Creole and other minorities have to pay a heavy amount to the Mauritian government to get the same permissions and incentives. Foreign tourists coming to Mauritius are treated extremely well and the money required to be spent for such treatment is obtained by miss-utilizing the funds of Creole Mauritians and other minorities without their consent from banks and other financial institutions. The income from tourism is cleverly distributed largely among Hindu Indian concerns in Mauritius or among persons who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian Origin, while the Creole Mauritians and other minorities are grossly neglected. Recently a Creole Mauritian man and his Creole Mauritian wife were murdered by a gang of Hindu Indians hired by some rich Mauritian businessmen who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin. Before their death the Creole Mauritian couple accused those Mauritian businessmen of gang raping and murdering their daughter who was an investigating officer of CID, Mauritius. She was investigating a massive fraud involving those Mauritian businessmen in which about hundred thousand Creole Mauritians and persons from other minorities lost their money. Promptly, the Mauritian government (dominated by persons who or whose ancestors are of Hindu Indian origin) did its best to cover up the case. Every year thousands of Mauritian girls belonging to the Creole and other minorities are first lured and then trafficked to India by Hindu Indians agents operating in Mauritius. These girls are forced into sex-slavery in India. Due to the misery and horror they have to experience, they lose all their beauty within a year and then they are forced to commit suicide or get killed anyhow and their corpses are dumped in marshes and their deaths are never recorded. I hope that this secret oppression and genocide of Creole Mauritians and other minority Mauritians by the Hindu Indians will soon come to an end anyhow. I am doing my part to make the good and powerful persons of the world aware about the present situation in Mauritius and is trying to do more.

Worked there for six months and spent every weekend either diving or just exploring. Didn't see 1/10 of it. The towns are crazy manic in a nice way and the people always smiling. The buses are ancient bone shaking machines but cheap and reliable. Don't expect to stay dry inside a bus if it rains. The island is tiny, about 65Km across I think but you need a lifetime to see it all. Seeing this video makes me want to go back.

Hey Morgane, hope you are well! I don't know if you'll see this now that the video was posted years ago but I'd love to live in Mauritius as it's where my career is pushing me. Do you mind if we shared some bit of communication? Thank you, Looking forward to your response!

Yeah, it's ok to visit one time and stay in safe areas. Beaches are nice. Transferring the influence from French to Indian's, huge difference you know the rest and don't expect American customer service quality.

CoD RocKz # Wild gaming sorry..you are wrong.. christianity was there first. Then came indian immigrants. That's how hinduism came.

CoD RocKz # Wild gaming are you from mauritius? You are lying here.. there were no tribes on this island.. slaves were brought from africa by french and british..and after abolition of slavery, indians were brought as immigrants.. stop spreading fake information when you are ignorant of reality!
Talking about religion, christianity must have mostly come from africa,.. hindu, muslim, tamil, marathi, telugu must have surely come from india
