- Welcome! You're probably here from Plotagon Story Direct Connect to learn more about using Plotagon Story's Voice Subscription commands to have your characters pronounce words as you want them pronounced! 🗣️
Here is what you'll need to type into your custom character's with a Voice Subscription (or pre-made in-app character like Buck) dialogue box:
1. Look up the SAMPA phonetic alphabet chart for your language. (Learn more and find yours here: wikipedia.org/wiki/SAMPA_chart)
2. When you have a word that your character's misprouncing, replace that word with /prn= (SAMPA pronunciation) /
(Be sure to put a space between each sound followed by a space at the end before the final backslash.)
So for example, if you wanted to talk about the Nestlé corporation, your character would say "nestle" with an incorrect pronunciation, but instead of typing "nestle," type: \prn= n E1 s l EI \ to get the proper way to say the brand.
If you choose to export with subtitles, the command will appear with the text.
Some of our in-app pre-made characters can also do this too, so if you want to try it out but don't have a Voice Subscription, you can use them, or try out the free week-long Voice Subscription Trial!
If you try this with the regular TTS voices provided by your mobile device, the character will likely say "\prn= n E1 s l EI \" instead of pronouncing an actual word.
If you make a cool Plot using spelling, let us know by tagging us and using #Plonounce (we will be on the lookout for them and give our favorites a month-long Voice Subscription!).
Keep an eye out on Direct Connect to find out more cool tips and tricks to enhance your Voice Subscription-using experience!

Omg thanks! Now almost everything can be pronounced in the correct way thanks to your new voice hack method! Looking forward to using this soon!
Thank you for this cool tutorial Plotagon.. gonna try it soon
Cool your voices
Cool!
❤
Thats funny all my characters pretty much mispronounce the name of my character Helena Kendricks 😂😂 I might have to try this when I start Season 3 of my show.
Wow! That's a pretty wild hack. Checking out the link you provided - thank you! - the SAMPA chart is fascinating. I've watched many Plots where the characters scream, "Aaah!" but they end up pronouncing each letter singularly instead. Do you know if using the SAMPA chart helps with sustained sounds or might there be another hack for that? I've been learning a lot with your latest tips and tricks. Thanks!
I would imagine using the pronunciation dialogue command should allow your character to pronounce anything within the /prn= and / but definitely test it out and let us know! :)
Please provide an audio import feature on Android, on PC it already exists but why doesn't the Android version have that feature?😢

Yeah, it took a bit of trial and error to get it to pronounce things correctly, so definitely play around a bit to see what works for you!
It appears the Plotagon website has disappeared. What happened???
Hmm, it appears to be available now! :)
@@Plotagon Thanks for fixing it!
Please tell how to get speech in Hindi. I want character to speak in Hindi
The voice options available within Plotagon Story are based on the variety of TTS (text-to-speech) voice options and languages available to your individual mobile device or mobile plan. You can see what your options are in the voice selection part of the character creator tool. Specific languages can be found by searching for the ISO language codes (for Hindi, look for HIN or HI). Plotagon has no control over what your device will offer regarding TTS voices -- we merely utilize what your Android or iOS device has and make it available within our app. Additionally, if your mobile service provider updates their voice selections, we cannot change or revert the voices to how they were previously. Also, be sure to check your device's TTS Voice Options to ensure you have the voices and languages you would want downloaded, as they don't always have every voice available pre-loaded onto your device.
You can also record your own voice in any languages you'd like, and there is the ability to change up the volume and pitch of voices, so even with one person, you could get a wide variety of voice options in that way, with the exact language, dialect, and pronunciation that you desire.
@@Plotagon sorry but I can't find male hindi voice. I can see only Hindi female voice only.
@@Plotagon ON iPad I have searched everywhere and downloaded everything BUT for Male I can’t find Hindi voice. Please guide me
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, i love making plotagon animations check it out
Usually I just ignore mispronounced words my characters say. The subtitles in the episodes are used to make the words clear. Your special pronouciation tip only complicates things, so I will pass.
