  • These bags are solid for sure. For the price it would have been nice to see some slightly better fitment between the two halves, but overall I would definitely buy again. What did you guys think? Do you think I'm being too harsh or do you agree? Don't forget to check out my instagram please and LIKE SUBSCRIBE & COMMENT. Thanks!!

    Spaghettios are the best. Glad you used them to measure! That actually gave me a much better visualization of size.

    What do you think? If the bike fell over while slow practicing through the cones, could the bottom bar(& rest of assembly) serve as a rear crash bar (like the police bike designs)? I wouldn't want the fender struts to twist. Now add the quick connect hardware. I haven't dropped my own bike since 1985 but dropped the police motors a bunch but they're designed to take it. Thanks

      I think it would be fine. I don’t think the struts would bend or twist from that. The bars would just get scratched obviously lol. But I think it would be ok. I would just worry about the 2 grade 8 bolts holding these on to the struts. That’s a lot of leverage coming from these since they stick out far

      @@RidinDad Thanks for the reply!. While pricey, these bags seem to solve three problems:
      1: ST clamshell bags are ugly, impractical, and vulnerable
      2: FXR Div bag rails offer some protection in case of a whoops.
      3. My wife needs grab handles

      When I first had them wrapped in white, I did not even think about that and then somebody made a comment once when I was getting a feel for if I wanted to keep them white or not and then ever since then that’s all I think about with the white finish on them lol

    Not a fan of hard bags. I went with the Leather Pros. I like how sleek they look and the expand ability and how easy they can be removed. But then, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla right?

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Před 4 lety

      Absolutely! I love the way leather pros look man. But having a waterproof lockable bag took the cake for me. It was a hard choice though!!

      @@RidinDad Yeah I thought about those things too and here is what I came up with. I may be rationalizing but: I don't do much foul weather riding; unless I happen to be caught by surprise by a rain storm. I also don't plan on having the bags on the bike 24/7; I plan on putting them on as needed which lowers the odds even further. As far as security goes; locks are only to keep honest people honest. You won't stop a thief if they want your stuff. As a for instance; I drive a convertible. A replacement top is somewhere north of $2k. I NEVER lock the doors. Now yes someone mine get my stuff but I promise you whatever they get won't be $2k worth so I'd rather they open the door than damage my top getting in. Same holds true for bags on the bike. Like I said; just the way I rationalized it all to myself :)

      @@michaelcullen9216 Of course man. Rules are only for people who follow them. I wish the leather pros worked for me man cause they look sweet and hold a ton. Maybe on my next bike lol. But for hard bags I really like these still. I used to hate them, then they grew on me & now I love them lol

      I think it's very legit to think about how you are likely to use the bike, including length of trips and likely storm exposure. I have a BMW GS, and that bike is likely to see some long trips in bad conditions. For it, I have the ungodly expensive BMW aluminum locking panniers. They are amazing bags -- high capacity, security, easily removed, etc. In contrast, for my Low Rider S, I got Ends Cuoio leather bags. They are lockable, sort of. Easy to get past the lock or just put a hand in under the soft leather top. Yet, I've talked to people who have been riding Harleys for years and have never had anything taken from a soft leather bag. And, the reality is, on the Harley I really need a bag to carry a liner for my leather jacked, an extra inner later, a small tool bag, etc. I just don't need expensive hardside luggage for that particular bike.
      And, btw, the Ends Cuoio bags look awesome on the Low Rider S!

      Absolutely man. Different bags for different needs. And I’ll second the toughness of those bmw bags. I had the opportunity to check some out a dealer a few months back and those things are solid as hell lol
