My daughter was involved in the shooting at Heath High School years ago in Western Kentucky. Thankfully she had just left the area where the shooting started minutes before. There were several students killed and one girl was crippled for life. It’s so sad that some people have to take their anger out on the innocent.
Perhaps we should be looking at why these people are being made to feel this is the only logical conclusion to satisfy their anger. All we ever do is send meaningless thoughts and prayers and try to blame racism and guns. Nobody ever wants to look at the mental health aspect or the bullying aspect. The kid who shot up that Florida high school did it because he had mental issues that were not being properly treated and some girl he asked out publicly embarrassed and humiliated him.

Given that rifles only account for 24% of massing shooting and only 27% of active shooter encounter, the latter per the FBI that is extremely significant. The gun and it's high capacity mag would been banned under the '94 federal assault weapons ban that both democrats and republic supported letting expire.

I lived in El Paso for a while and I left 3 months before the shooting. I lived 2 blocks from that Walmart on Viscount Blvd. I used to go to that walmart about every 2 days. I ran that route all the time. It absolutely destroyed me when I first saw it. I thought it was a mistake at first. It was insane. I used to go to Cielo Vista all the time. I was frozen. There is this feeling that I got...this piercing feeling.
If I would have stayed there just a few months longer, I could have been there when that happened. To this day that still bothers me

If someone in the store had a concealed carry weapon on them, the shooter could have been taken down immediately.
He said he “wasn’t going to be a hero” by going back into the store. But he was a hero!! He warned people about what was happening inside the store, even as he was running for his life. Despite his incredible fear, and the instinct for self preservation, he thought to send out a warning. That, by definition, is heroism.

I always look for exits as soon as i enter a building. Most grocery stores have emergency exits at the sides, rear and the doors for shipping and receiving. Malls have at least 1 door per store where they receive products,emergency exits near restrooms and main entrances. You can always drive behind the buildings where you frequently shop and you should see the doors. I do this to be prepared and i always have my eyes on everyone when i walk in. TRUST NO ONE!!

2020 set a record for gun deaths in the US actually so covid didn’t slow anything down.
I live about 30 minute drive from boulder which really isn't that far so it is really crazy where I am and everyone is just shook and just saddened over the incident. My dad actually had met the officer who died a few times in high school and he apparently had 7 children. Reminder this is not the way to express your feelings and to deal with mental health issues.

My wife and I witnessed the entire (sights and sounds) of the Las Vegas shooting incident from our hotel window. Not long after, we got active shooter training. I hope this is a wake-call for everyone to get "active shooter" training. Contact your local police or sheriff's department for information. This is information you need before, not after an incident. Knowing what to do and not do greatly increases your chances of surviving. When you hear what you think at first are fireworks is the time you put your knowledge and training into action. You must act quickly and decisively.

There was even another shooting on table Mesa park and ride and the guy had run from this super market two years ago. Boulder had something like three stabbings in two weeks in January. The stabbings go on in Boulder all the time. Couple years back One dude was just walking his dog by the creek and someone ran by and stabbed him and he didn’t even know he’d been stabbed at first. The creek and library are more or less and open air drug market. Women get raped down there not completely infrequently. A lot of sex offenders and ex cons come to Boulder upon release from jail. You can be on the radar here for a long time as a criminal and won’t get taken to jail in Boulder. The poor cops have been turned into social workers. This poor cop was probably sent out to settle some disturbance. They don’t arrest these trouble makers in Boulder. They just keep going until the shoot and rape some more. The cases are too numerous to count. Kari Whitfield for example. The list is long. HALF of the homeless shelter beds in Boulder are reserved for sex offenders!!!!

Half way through the video, my heart sank as I realized I (5'1ft woman) usually take my two children (3 years and 10 months) to the store with me. I can't imagine. I got sick to my stomach thinking of if we happened to be at that store at that moment. My heart really aches for the families and friends of the ones lost.

I’ve never been overcharged. The first time I did curbside pickup I went home with 4 extra bags of food. I called about returning them, but was told to just keep everything.

You could of pull down a fire alarm not just in case of fire, for a real emergency situation if you don't have a phone to call 911.
Fire alarm = find nearest exit, not run away from the shooter and the gunshots now mixing with the ringing. School shooters use this to draw kids out of classes. It’s not a good idea unless it's for people far away and already close to an exit.

Other people might also be trying to stop the shooter, then they could have a gun out, so don't just shoot the first person you see with a gun. WATCH AND LISTEN to what is happening before choosing how to act. A gun is not your only tool if you have one. Your mind and senses are your most important tool.
