    Windows Xp is the first ever os I used. At that time android phones were just starting and ios was too much to afford for my parents, so we used an old computer which ran win Xp. I had so much memories with it, every time I turned on my computer the music just made me happy. God I wish I could go back to those simpler times....

    I feel so much nostalgia, just looking at the Windows XP and Vista ones. I really miss when Windows wasn’t software as a service and wish we could go back to these simpler times some day. ☹️

      @@echoofdawn7209 That could be a benefit, however Windows has become so bloated because instead of working with a new code base every couple of years Microsoft recycles what’s there and adds layers of new features on top. Windows 11 still has some remnants of Windows XP on it and the UI is not cohesive at all.

      @@technerd020 recycling code is already existed since DOS era. modern Windows basically built from windows NT 5/2000 and they only add API, I dont want windows become like Linux, become obsolete in short time

      @@echoofdawn7209 Recycling code is not a bad thing, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it. As a future developer I do understand that reusing code that already works for a function is a good thing to do over writing it from scratch, but what I’m saying is that since Satya Nadella stepped in as CEO of the company, Microsoft’s main focus has been cloud computing and Azure. Windows isn’t given the attention it had back in the days of Windows 7, and parts of the OS are heavily tied to the cloud, where as some others require manual labor to set up using old win32 interfaces. It’s just not cohesive and makes it unnecessarily robust for no reason.

    Thanks for doing this. Brings back a LOT of memories. Was using MS-DOS about a year prior to the launch of Windows. Luckily, today there are 3rd-party programs that allow Win11 users to choose to place the Taskbar at the top of the screen and to select retro Start menus. I truly appreciate these Developers.

    Windows XP and 07 are the best. Nostalgia. And even after that they were so simple and less annoying. There ain't much blue screen errors like windows 10. Just simple and anyone can use. That's what we call an OS. Miss that era

    You could have included Microsoft Neptune. Even though it wasn’t released itself, parts of the os was used in the creation of Windows XP.

      But there isnt much difference between the Neptune start menu and that of the Windows 2000 start menu though. Besides a wordmark change on the strip and an icon change on shut down, its virtually the same.

    Yes I made an editing mistake. 6:44 is supposed to say Build 7000 (Beta 1) instead of Build 6801. Also 11:15 is Windows 8.1 Update 1.

    The taskbar in Windows 11 is just too thick, i don't know if you still can make the taskbar autohide or not, but the new taskbar feels like they smacked a dock into a taskbar

      everyone's doing it so Windows also needed one, or so Microsoft thought after making the taskbar bigger once again to look like the dock, this time without any setting to change it back

      Yes you can still make the taskbar auto hide, but you can't move it from the bottom anymore nor can you pin shortcuts to it by pulling them onto it.

    11:16 Note that this is the taskbar of Windows 8.1 Update 1, as Windows 8.1 RTM cannot pin Metro apps onto the taskbar, neither would they have a power button placed on the top right of the Start screen
