Windows Xp is the first ever os I used. At that time android phones were just starting and ios was too much to afford for my parents, so we used an old computer which ran win Xp. I had so much memories with it, every time I turned on my computer the music just made me happy. God I wish I could go back to those simpler times....

@@echoofdawn7209 That could be a benefit, however Windows has become so bloated because instead of working with a new code base every couple of years Microsoft recycles what’s there and adds layers of new features on top. Windows 11 still has some remnants of Windows XP on it and the UI is not cohesive at all.

Windows isn’t given the attention it had back in the days of Windows 7, and parts of the OS are heavily tied to the cloud, where as some others require manual labor to set up using old win32 interfaces. It’s just not cohesive and makes it unnecessarily robust for no reason.
Thanks for doing this. Brings back a LOT of memories. Was using MS-DOS about a year prior to the launch of Windows. Luckily, today there are 3rd-party programs that allow Win11 users to choose to place the Taskbar at the top of the screen and to select retro Start menus. I truly appreciate these Developers.

I actually prefer the later Windows 10 start menu over the older XP and 7 start menus. I’m a bit of an organization freak and the live tiles let me keep my desktop nice and clean

You could have included Microsoft Neptune. Even though it wasn’t released itself, parts of the os was used in the creation of Windows XP.

Yes you can still make the taskbar auto hide, but you can't move it from the bottom anymore nor can you pin shortcuts to it by pulling them onto it.
