I use the DeWalt daily for work, and results of this test are in line with my experience. However I think you're right in saying the gyro drive takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you can really finely adjust drive speed in a way that no other screwdriver tested allows. I use this drill for tapping threads in plastic, assembling sensitive electronics, and much more. it's been one of my daily driver as far tools go, and definitely feel like it's worth the short learning curve
Thanks for sharing.
I'm in a similar boat, my work had full set of 10 Dewalt drivers that we had to get rid of because the gyro function was deemed an ergonomic risk. They were replaced with the milwaukee drivers because of the thumb switch.
The milwaukee drivers are junk overall. The batteries will refuse to charge randomly, the thumb switches break quickly disabling the driver. the available torque and speed falls off after a month or two of use. overall they last about 1/3 as long as the Dewalt.
@@runslikeapenguin I have had similarly spotty experiences with Team Red's battery products
Agree 100% with Dylan. Since getting and using the Dewalt once you get the hang of it, it's almost a telepathic experience to use. I grab regular screwdrivers now and look at them wondering why they aren't turning on their own. Huge fan of the tech in that driver.
Agreed, the DeWalt is one of my favorite tools, and what wasn’t mentioned is that they have a higher-end model that allows for adjustment of the handle angle, and has a 15-position clutch. I use it literally every day and it hasn’t failed me yet.
Project Farm has all manufacturers hold their breath when he say “we’re gonna test that”.

Dude there is no ladies in this channel lol
I have two of the Dewalt’s - straight/pistol grip and simply straight versions - and love them both.
The gyro thing does take a minute to wrap your head around but it quickly becomes very intuitive… its like a regular screwdriver, the further and harder you turn the faster and harder it goes.
Plus.. there’s no forward/reverse switch… just turn it in the direction you want to go.
Thanks for sharing.
I'm not sure how useful a tool like this would be for me, but I feel like I'd go for the DeWalt, but the NoCry seems decent for the money, same for 3 Ryobi. Nobody's gonna convince me that the Milwaukee is twice the tool that the DeWalt is lol not judging by the time either tool took to run a screw, and you're certainly not getting twice the torque out of it.
Side note: I feel bad that the commentor gal's favorite tool brand didn't hold very well against that rusty old Milfuckee lol
I have the flip grip one too and I love the gyro. Been using it at work for years
I love the dewalt screwdriver. I have the 680 which pivots as well as has a bit holder. Super easy to use and great even for sensitive things like install wall plates. It also includes a clutch if you’re trying to do something delicate quickly.
Out of the box the Dewalt is hard to get used to. But once you are used to the gyro design its great. I use mine in server rooms and not having to remember to set the direction combined with the super slow(so you don't strip a screw) variable starting speed; It's a wonderful tool.
I have the model tested in the video (DCF682) as well as the upgrade with the pivoting grip, clutch, and two LEDs instead of one (DCF680).
Would’ve liked to seen the latter tested against the others, though the operation has the same specs. So helpful removing wall plates, light fastening, and drilling quick pilot holes without switching bits.

See, I find the opposite to be true. Because, for example, he shows a makita sander is better than a milwaukee, but also shows a milwaukee impact is better than a makita. And since each use different batteries, I have to compromise and go with the worse tool because I already have the batteries for it. So the tests become irrelevant as I end up sticking to one brand system.
@@Floortile83 It would be nice if a battery was a battery like the good old days. I wouldn't buy a tool that catch fire or doesn't have battery after a minute of full load
It's like testing the fuel range of a car. Why would I care if I live in a city full of gas stations?
But maybe, once a year I need to drive 600KM without fueling
Who in their right mind would thumbs down a PF video. One on the most honest guys on CZcams. Nothing but facts.
Thanks!
The Black and Decker fans 😂
349 people accidentally hit the wrong button, 100 of them have a new mouse and thought they clicked the thumbs up, another 100 cant see the screen because their monitor is cracked right between the thumbs up and thumbs down, and the remaining 149 people are on crack and clicked on the thumbs down several times trying to clean a dirty spot on their new touch LCD screen they just stole at the park from some white guy napping on the bench right in the middle of mens and womens bathroom, but its closed because it's only April and everyone pees outside till July.
He doesn't even make fun of the tools that should be made fun of!
Maybe they thumbs it down so they wouldn't be seeing this stuff in their feed? I don't know why anybody would. This is interesting at 12:00 midnight
And again you came through for me and I had asked about this in another video not knowing... THANKS!!
Thanks for sharing!
I have the dewalt version with the clutch. I've used it for 2 years fixing rc cars. It gets abused and keeps on going. The gyro was weird at first but it's amazing now and can't live without it. I'm a die hard milwaukee guy, but dewalt did great with the gyro screwdriver!
Thanks for the feedback.
I find myself in this boat. I can't stand the thought of bringing home an ugly yellow screwdriver to live with all my beautiful red tools, but Milwaukee has so far made this impossible to avoid by failing to produce a competitor :/
This guys does better research than most of my colleagues at the University

Thank you for including the audio while driving the lag screws, that was comedy gold for my husband and I

Love your channel and the work you put into it. Lost my dad 10 years ago at a young age. You remind me of him.
Marshall, Thank you very much! This means a lot to me.

Wow Todd is awesome
I have the Skil and I love it. I use it primarily for machine screws on electronics and door hardware. The low torque is a blessing since I don't have to worry about over torquing or stripping out small screw heads. It's also really handy when you're working above a drop ceiling with very little room to maneuver.
Thanks for sharing.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
"The low torque is a blessing" - totally agree. More torque without variable speed or a clutch just causes more damage. This is a lightweight tool for #4 screws like drapery hardware. Get a hammer drill with a 1/2" chuck and you will be ready for anything.
This is probably the most fair and true test of whatever channel on the CZcamss. I love it! I don't even need some of the products but I'll look just in case I do! LOL
Thanks for watching!
I thought for sure the NoCry would make me cry but to my surprise it lived up to its name and NoCry for me.
lol. Great point!
They should make a NoCryEver for $50 and include a led light and locking bits.
Thank you very much for your kind words! Should you need any assistance, please send us a message!
Just when I was about out of excuses to stall on going out and mowing the lawn... Project Farm saves the day with a new video!
lol Thanks for watching!
I have three of those no cry screwdrivers. I wanted variable speed and a clutch for working on RC cars and they've all been great. I had one that died about a month after I got it and they took care of me no questions asked. Great screwdriver and in my experience great customer support!
Thanks for sharing.
i know this is an old comment but if you want the best screwdriver for RC cars get the dewalt. been using one myself exclusively for RC cars for a while now and love it. they even have one with a clutch that wont strip out the tiniest of screws except for maybe 24th scale stuff. i use it for my b6.4, capra, kraton and lc12b1 and its perfect.
I personally love the worx, and Im a milwaukee man. The beauty of having six internally stored bits on the fly really sold it for me. Put my most used bit in the mag and it has saved me quite a few trips running back and forth to my box or truck having it handy!
Thanks for the feedback.

You just made my day, thank you!
We're gonna see which couch is most comfortable.

Her: If you don't get off that damn computer, you're sleeping on the couch tonight.
Me: Bring me my pillow and a blanket.
Damn this is actually testing, unlike that channel that just puts tools under a hydraulic press. here you have all the specs, brands, materials, price, where are they made, etc. Very useful. Subscribed!
Thanks! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
the other channel was never intended to test something because you can test only the hardness with a hydraulic press.:)
Agreed. We don't deserve Project Farm. Very grateful for this channel, I make a LOT of purchase decisions based on his testing.. In fact, about 90% of my workshop is filled with tools based on this channel and Stumpy Nubs' channel.
If you ever want to know testing about impacts or wrenches or torque in general, watch the torque test channel, they are amazing
I was kind of hoping at the end, loading up into that mains drill, that he didn't power it up and run them all to destruction.
No nonsense, quick reviews. First time viewer and subbed. Thanks, great format.
Thanks and welcome! Thanks for watching and subscribing
I would just like to say that this man is amazing and he is the main man I always rely on for buying power tools. I really appreciate you and I hope you continue doing what you do.
Thanks, will do!
I’m waiting on the “PF farm approved” rating on product packaging..😂😂
Thanks for sharing.
I don't think PF approves of anything, but he gives viewers the option to choose based on the results of his testing, which isn't exactly a recommendation, rather an open suggestion for us to choose for ourselves.
A company would have to keep its words carefully because any one of us can go and see the tests being conducted for ourselves, rather than the old days of pretending that the market jargon of "independently tested" without context means anything.
@@classydays43 Exactly. Part of why everyone loves his videos is because he's unbiased. He doesn't usually give strong opinions outside of the casual "wow that did bad" or "wow that did better than expected"
I love it because like you said, he gives us the info to go ahead and choose for ourselves. We can compare each brand/model to find out which one suits our needs best.
Project Farm farm? Almost as bad as when people say ATM machine or PIN number.
He won’t ever sell out like that
I like the clever design additions on the WORX. The quick change bit magazine and screw holder can come in really handy.
Yeah, that stood out to me as well. I elso enjoy that the top of the WORX makes it look like some sort of scifi gun.
So the quality and battery lasting. But in this video we can see the wright and actual.... respect with the consumer... NONE...
Great video. I have had the Skil screwdriver in the test for about 2 years. It’s okay but takes awhile to get coordinated with the power switch. The first 4-5 times I used it I dropped it when the torque
pulled it out of my hands because of the funky power switch. BTW I have owned a ton of power screwdrivers in my life and definitely not a novice regarding them. I literally just purchased the Tack Life in your video am impressed with it thus far. Hi and low would have made it nearly perfect. I am a new subscriber to your channel and am still catching up! Thanks for all the great videos!
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Great video! Never thought all these variables were important in getting a screwdriver. Thanks for sharing
Thanks and you are welcome!
Seriously man, send a few of your video's to TV stations, you are far far better than anything they have...
Thanks for the nice comment!
agreed
He's probably better out of the mainstream media, I know how that has worked for others and they didn't end better than they started
I feel like this would actually work with PBS. Have like a sunday mini-marathon every week, just 2 hours of Project Farm in the afternoon when everyone is digesting lunch or getting home from church, whatever their routine is.
When the Project Farm guy announces he's going to have a yard sale, I will binge watch every episode and then hit the road to get in line.
Great stuff as always.
lol Thanks!
nah hit the road first and then watch the vids. if you watch them first, the line will be 10 miles long!
Great video, fantastic in depth content and comparison! Was hoping to see the Makita DF012DSE in action, but was too fascinated to leave until I'd seen the results 😅 thank you
Thanks and you are welcome! Thanks for the video idea.
It would make more sense to use the DF012D in the test. I have a Makita DF001D screwdriver and I got it for around 35 dollars as new. I don't know why it's so expensive in the video. It's good to assemble furniture, but that's about it.
Very interesting test results. I own an older Ryobi, and bought it after my friend got one and was thrilled that it could drive a number of full 4" deck screws. I only wish it had a battery state indicator. For delicate items, I use the high gear/very low torque method.
And I own several other TackLife products and love them. The first variable speed multitool didn't react to speed selection, but they replaced it immediately. I kept the semi-functioning tool as a backup. Good customer service, low price, and good features keep me a loyal customer to TackLife. (Disclaimer: I'm not paid by any company.)
Thanks! Thanks for the feedback.
Time to watch the best part of Sunday
Thank you very much! This means a lot to me!
It's awesome to see that PF actually takes suggestions! I am by no means the only person to request this I'm sure but that's awesome! No one actually engages with their audience anymore
Thank you! 100% of the videos are viewer requested. I ran out of video ideas 2 years ago. lol
This video was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
You're welcome!
Before I make a purchase I always check your channel for a review. As I need a rechargeable screwdriver at work I decided on the Tacklife. Looks like it will do the job at a relatively inexpensive price. That way if it gets damaged or grows legs I will can replace. Thanks for making the purchase decision easier! Looking forward to your next video!
Thanks for sharing.
"We're gonna test that" "
"Manufacturers hate him, see why tonight, on Project Farm"
lol. Great point!
"We're gonna test that" is like when My Mechanics says "I make a new one". That is to say, the catchphrase we forward to hearing in the video.
