  • In this video I will use Dharma Natural Dye Osage Orange on a fine white Kid Mohair and Merino base yarn. I will show you my process as I learn, navigate the ebbs and flows of hand dyeing yarn.
♥ Hi, my name is Lori and my goal is to teach, inspire and live off the land in style by knitting my own clothes, creating essential survival items and living luxuriously warm, dyeing fibre using bright acid colours and occasionally plants, fungi, muck and mud.
I really struggled when I began dyeing fibre a few years ago and there were only a few basic tutorials. On this channel, I want to share with you everything I know so you can easily begin upgrading your craft by creating notable fibre art more quickly. From solid dyeing, colour combinations and conceptual ideas into notable creative work that is ready to repeat quickly using minimal tools and resources.

This is really interesting, thank you for sharing your experience with natural dyes, it's something I'm curious about and want to experiment with too. The colours you can get from natural dyes are gorgeous, I agree. I love those yellows!

I have been sewing my samples into a book and its so beautiful when I look at them. It's a slow work in progress learning how to use them and cleaning the yarn afterwards I find the most challenging. This one in particular was very very sticky like. So much fun though and worth it.
