So STA3047S & STA3048S replace STA3043S in my year - Bayesian Analysis with some Operational Research
They split out the R Programming portion, I suspect to align to the ASSA Exemption course 🙂
😅Melusi teaches STA2004F now
Hi , hope you are will, I also applied for a bsc at UCT ,which major should i take in order to bridge to act sci or so that i can apply to act sci? another question Is there an option to add courses that are non science as electives (Econ and accounting)? for example if i choose Math and Stats as my two majors with i be allowed to add those two as electives?
Looking to contact students who started studying BBusSci last year or year before that at UCT
Great video Sis Thando. MAM100W will now be split to 2 semester courses(2023) 😅MATH1A and MATH1B
Oh wow, nice! Would that make 1A a prerequisite for 1B then?
@@quant_in_sa Yes Ma'am. Also helps people decant early instead of them decanting around August .
Thank you so much for enlightening us as parents. May the good Lord keep on blessing you. Proud of you, Thando😊❤
Hi, hope you’re well. What’s the major difference between BCom Actuarial Science and BBuSSc Actuarial Science, and which one would you recommend? And then is there a benefit to doing the BCom_AD/BBuSSc_AD? Thanks.
Hey, thank you for the question
I've recorded a video premiering at 10pm tonight answering this. Check it out :)
@@quant_in_sa Much appreciated, will definitely check it out, thanks.
Got a firm offer for BComm/BBussci main stream. I had a chance to do analytics (mathematical statistics) then switch to actsci second year but my sponsor doesn't sponsor analytics 💔so I'll have to go to another uni where I got accepted for actsci straight
I was kinda hurt because I always wanted UCT but kehh at least I'm still doing actsci, a win is a win
Haha, yes, A win is a Win! All the best with the program and Congratulations on getting in and securing a sponsor!
Hey,so i still have to code again?😭i thought it ended with python in 1st year?
Yes unfortunately R is gonna follow you. The actuaries that visited us told us about VBA, Prophet and Java.🙃🤣felt like dying.
Mr melusi stil teaches and still a beast😭😭🤣
In his Orlando Pirates shirt saying tough concepts are 'trivial'? 😂
Hello Thando, I'm from engineering
How do I get in touch for advice?
Hi, try asking here so that everyone else can benefit :)
Heyy. Im thinking of accepting an offer for Bsc in Mathematics at Wits then start with actuarial sciences in the second year. Would kindly advice me on this decision
Hi, I went to Wits and did the same courses. You definitely can do that but in your second week of the school calendar you need go Prof Steve for information on the requirements and required courses to take. I would say register for Math, Cam,stats, Business Accounting, Econ. [You can ask the faculty consultants on this when you are registering on campus].
Thanks Anga!!!
Hey Asanda, I'm actually sitting across Anga as I'm typing!! As a Witsie she's more equipped to answer this one - I hope it helps :)
@@quant_in_sa Thank so much!
@@AngaM thank you Anga! I'll definitely do that! I appreciate your assistance.🙏
@@AngaM hey is this possible with Com Sci, I've accepted an offer for com sci at wits but I have since realised that I have an interest in act sci more than com sci and amendment dates are closed. So Is it doable?
