    Today’s parable reminded me of the story of a Cherokee who talks to his grandson about the two wolves at war within him, one bad and one good. When his grandson questioned him about who would win, he replied ‘the one he would feed.’
    Since both these aspects coexist within us, it ultimately depends upon which one we choose to feed. And to ensure we make the right choices, we must surrender our will to our Lord who through His Spirit will guide us at every step. Eventually, the aspect that we consistently ignore or starve will lose its power over us.
    Yes, it’s so easy to point fingers and pronounce judgment on others, while ignoring our own faults. When we expect God to understand and be patient with us, we also should be empathetic towards others, if we claim to be His followers.
    Thank you Father Warner for your commitment towards these teachings despite the storm in your own life that reminds us of yet another quality of Jesus. God bless you and your family.

    Today's teaching was beautiful Fr. I particularly liked the sentence "Call out the sin and not the sinner" So true the final outcome is Jesus authority and yet we tend to sit in judgement on every one including ourselves. Lord help us to heed your teaching "Judge not and you will not be judged.". Let me not be a hypocrite wanting mercy for myself and justice for others. Give me the grace to be merciful and compassionate - a true Christian.

  • @mariaoliveiradsouza3745

    Every word you share with us Fr. Warner comes with so much wisdom, discernment and context. 'Let the one without sin throw the first stone' comes to mind here. Not one of us is without sin yet we feel quite okay to get on our high horse and point out others sins. I often wonder how patient God is with the human race! As you mentioned we must call out the sin not the sinner. Only God can judge. When I think about the weeds that sneakily grow alongside the wheat in the context of our life it is a lesson that if we tackle these weeds with grace it builds our character and makes us stronger to reap a beautiful harvest at the end. I pray that God will bless each of us and send us the grace to be mindful of our day to day actions and interactions in a way that will make Him proud of us. Sorry to hear about your dad Fr. Warner. Will keep him and your family in my prayers. May the Divine Healer be with you all during this trying time.

    Father i feel that the weeds are the bad people who are still loved by the good people and the lord wants to wait keep patience with the bad ones to change as for sometimes punishing the bad ones might effect the good ones ( for eg. If a loved one dies suddenly) until the time for harvest comes when they have to be judged.

    How simple Jesus makes it , through his parables so that we understand better, n apply it to our daily lives Starting with the Sower, the Seed, the Soil..now the waiting period for the good fruits. It's quite a serious thought, of how alert I am, of how am I living my life, am I preparing for harvest time, am I sorry, am I repenting, am I making changes, what am I doing with my life. Mostly I find havent changed much, esp not to my family.
    Help me Lord, give me the grace to make serious life changes in my life.

    Thank you Fr. for your inspiring reflection on today's gospel of the sower and the seed. First and foremost we offer our prayers to our Lord Jesus with a humble heart and with our hands outstretched praying for mercy that your Dad be healed by the blood from pierced side of our Lord Jesus and by his precious wounds. We make this prayer to our loving and good heavenly Father in the name of his only Son Jesus whom he sent into this world that we may not perish but have eternal life in him. Lord Jesus grant us the grace to coexist with our brotheren with the love you taught us and the teachings you gave us, because your love can transform the weed to bear wheat that can nourish other weeds in the field and thereby giving a rich harvest to the Owner and Master. Of the field Lord Jesus we praise and glorify your Majesty and give thanks to your Holy name. Alleluia Praise the Lord our God Amen 🙏

    Thought provoking. The posture of wheat versus weed/ humility v/s pride. Being judgemental v/s stress free living thru forgiveness. Correct interpretation in relation to context v/s impulsive random speech and finally salvation in God's eyes vis-a-vis condemnation by human judgement.

    When you explained how the reapers would be able to identify the darnel from the wheat, I had this insight. You said the wheat bowed low because of the weight of the grains in their ears while the darnel being empty stood upright. Those who are good are often weighed down by suffering but this suffering bears fruit. The evil are full of their own pomp and appear arrogant, therefore upright in their own eyes.

    Dear Fr. You always say it well, to the point and with the point in your focus. There is so much of sincerity and reality in what you say that at times it feels we are standing in front of a mirror.
    Yes I would not like to generalise but say I am also like a "Darnel" growing amongst wheat and under a false belief that I am too straight compared to the wheat, which is bent. Little do I realise that my straightness is empty and of no use if I do not possess a good seed in me.
    Thank you so much for your "Bulls Eye" analysis and sermon.

Truly St.Paul in one of his letters said be vigilant for the enemy is like a roaring lion seeks to devour. So if the slave were vigilant this problem of the darnel would not have occurred. • @vijayatoppo2559
    @vijayatoppo2559 Před 3 lety +1

    Good afternoon Fr... Thank you Fr. for today's Gospel reflection, explaining each and every verse in an explicit manner. Jesus, being the ultimate judge gives out a strong, yet strange command "Let the weeds not be pulled up, lest the wheat be uprooted with them; let them just grow together until harvest." St. Paul in Romans gives an assurance "The Spirit comes to our aid in our weaknesses. He Himself will intercede for us, when we cooperate with Him," Jesus too is asking me to wait. The parable gives me the reason for waiting, in getting rid of the evil weed, the good plant will be destroyed. The Lord is teaching me to stop the evil doer, which I must but not at the cost of the good. In the words of the Holy Father "Who am I to judge," Lord let me not be judgemental, rather let me be good and leave the outcome to God. Lord by this teaching, help me to grow spiritually and evaluate myself. Also, Fr. thanking you for explaining the beautiful gesture of signing ourselves on the forehead, lips and the heart with the words...guide my mind, my lips and my heart. And, also, keeping your father in our prayers, praying that the good LORD may extend His healing hands 🙌 on him and restore him good health. May the Lord give strength and courage and stand by you and family members during this hour of pain and suffering... wishing him a speedy recovery. AMEN!
