  • WHAT CAUSES BLACK SMOKE OUT OF EXHAUST demonstrated on DODGE
    If you have black smoke coming from the exhaust of your car we will explain the top reasons that cause black smoke out of the exhaust and we will explain what needs to be done to fix black smoke from the exhaust. Black smoke indicates that your car is running rich, which means that it is getting more fuel or not enough air. Sometimes black smoke from the exhaust could be fixed by simply replacing your old air filter, in other cases it could be bad fuel regulator, leaking fuel injector. Also dirty or bad Mass Air Flow Sensor can cause black smoke from the exhaust of your car as well. This is because it will not read accurately how much air the engine is getting. Hopefully this video will help you find out if your car smokes black out of the exhaust.

    Do you think I have a bad fuel regulator? I recently got a code that it was getting uneven electrical current. But I charged the battery and the check engine light went away. I get black smoke when getting uphill on a freeway. My car has new oxygen sensor, recently cleaned MAF, and new air filter. The only things I can troubleshoot next would be throttle or maybe fuel regulator but I'm not getting check engine light to come on. (2007 Audi A4 2.0; 163k miles) I'm not seeing coolant leaking.

    Wouldn't a dirty air filter force the engine to spray *less* fuel? Unless intake air is metered before the air filter, and has no o2 sensor, the air filter shouldn't play any role in fuel metering. From my understanding.

    • @gargru
      @gargru Před 2 lety

      I am thinking the same thing. The ECU should adjust the fuel mixture accordingly, but usually they have a certain limit from which they won't turn down from - so it suffocates from air and creates black smoke.

      everything else would be working overtime. there would also be unburnt fuel definitely l. either way your getting poor mileage for the error. it's either retarding the timing or something

    A stuck open fuel injector will rather cause a White smoke out of the exhaust..a raw, unburned fuel coming out, bcus of the constant/dead misfire inside of that particular cylinder..a raw fuel that steams as white vapor(and smells like gasoline) from a hot exhaust
