      But he’s an idiot or just a battery swapper. Making a statement like here’s a drill, here’s a laptop and then here’s a Tesla... they’re all the same is stupid as shit. Tesla and Medtronic developed their battery technology together and is nothing like a laptop cell. There’s a reason why laptop cells die every 2 or 3 years and the current Tesla/mdt cells are from 2008 technology. The only thing the share is they 18650 size lol

    • @mar504
      @mar504 Před 6 lety +7

      Jason, partially true, the reason isn't just the cell, it's more how the cell is used. If you charged/discharged laptop cells within a narrower voltage range (like Tesla does with their cars) you can quadruple the life of the cell easily. Laptops have to be very conscious of weight so a bare minimum of batteries are used and they are pushed harder. They are very different applications, you also find that consumers are more concerned with maximizing "hours per charge" and are not willing to sacrifice that to longevity. Tesla could without a doubt offer a much longer range with the same cells, but they chose longevity instead and limit charging to 4.1v.

Kudos to you and ALL involved in defiance of the powers that be, in pursuit of a better, more compassionate and just life. (aside from the dun) and therefore recovering 18650s at low cost from dead batteries ? not buying good new ones... I made a 2kWh 35Ah pack using 224 cells as 14S16P for my 1.8kW motor, that should get you 50 miles, but more cells are better to reduce depth of discharge. It's also 10kg, so there's a tradeoff between cost, weight, power and distance.
      Your average power will probably be a lot less than 1000 watts unless you're tanking it into a headwind, so you could start with that and modify as required.

    is it possible to make car batteries for my audio setup? right now I have 3 big 12v batteries to support 5k watts. 2 alternators roughly 500 amp charging. I would love to try to build something for my setup

    Can anyone explain why someone would want to buy this system, and buy cells, process and test them, then assemble. As opposed to buying prismatic Li-ion or Lifepo4?

    Vruzend system would be a no go for me, spring loaded holder just says failure to me especially if the pack takes a bump on like an ebike for example. How do we find out more about the battery rig at the end. How about a video on that.

    My math might be way off here, but full pallet in 12s form would be 25,000Ah? I think for the vruzend kit it's around 1.10 per cell. So somewhere in the 30 to 38,000.00 range to have a 25,000Ah 12s battery handy?

      20,000 * 1.5 / 12 = 2,500 Ah @ 44.4V nominal
      20,000 * 3.7 * 1.5 = 111kWh
