On June 27th 2023, Philadelphia joined other cities in the "on-street Greyhound/Peter Pan Bus Terminal club. Problem is, the new location is a high-traffic zone so local transit service is seen here skirting around parked buses.
In this video we explore both before and after Greyhound moved into this particular space. We even jump back as far as the late 90's (cortosey of ‪@trainman1971‬) to see just how smooth things have been in the past at the OLD Greyhound Terminal

It’s sad that many Greyhound bus terminals have closed leaving customers with no restrooms or places to sit, eat and wait. Just curbside all thanks to Flixbus Company who give zero cares about customers. Plus you got me in tears because these older videos towards the end brought back childhood memories. I miss those old NJT buses the MCI MC9A and Flixible Metro too. These NABIs I’m used to but not the same. Also I love the MCI D4505s in the PeterPan fleet and the D4500CTs in The NJ Transit feet today.

Greyhound could not have picked a worse spot for a "terminal" than right on Market Street with no safe pulloff locations.

I can’t believe the city approved that it causes such a traffic jam

I drove pass the new location today and customers didn’t look like they were too happy. No inside seating, restrooms or outdoor shelters to sit and wait. Not only will this cause bad traffic jams but bad dwell times at bus stops. Lots of luggage to carry too for god sake.

This is not an ideal place for Greyhound to stop at. It may be convenient for some, because it lets them off right on Market Street, but this would cause a major traffic jam during the Rush Hours, especially considering many, many SEPTA and NJT routes pass through there (and even the PHLASH).
But at the same time, I went through that older terminal and it was in a pretty dangerous area. A lot of homeless people, and zombie-like people over there near Jefferson, and it needs a cleanup (maybe not on the same level as Kensington, but still, a sweeping change is needed).
I hope that places like Port Authority don't meet the same fate of pushing Intercity Buses out onto busy streets.

The Port Authority Bus Terminal gets a lot of good business and high ridership so I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

I thought I was trippin just looking at the video like, where's the new building? Wow. Just closed the terminal with no replacement? When winter comes then what? At least they could've found some space near 30th St. Station or maybe Suburban Station, to let people actually have a waiting room and actual customer service. Sheesh cost cutting knows no bounds.

I heard the downtown LA Greyhound station on 7th & Alameda is gone also. That really sucks. As of now the Greyhound in downtown Albuquerque is still there because it shares the station with Amtrak, the Rail Runner and city buses. But that'll depend on whether Flix Bus decides to renew the lease or move their spot to some location next to the freeway.

Yeah I know right, Flixbus picks up passengers in really odd and unsafe locations.

@@timbuktug3321 That location on Market is VERY unsafe for everyone. I'm guessing that they're picking up somewhere near skid row in downtown LA where the original Greyhound station was.

That was the old "RTD TERMINAL"
(RTD stood for Rapid Transit District) at 7th & Los Angeles Sts. in the Garment District. Remember the RTD? A handful of dirty, diesel powered, polluting busses and THAT was public transportation in The City of Angels until 1993 when the RTD and LA County Transportation Commission merged form The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority or "Metro" or "MTA" for short.

Good news boys! The 17, 33, and 48 is skipping some stops so they can pass by the Greyhound “Terminal” without causing traffic. Hopes this goes well since they might fail IMO.

Why is the Peter Pan bus sitting there that long and blocking the Bus Lane?? The driver should know not to arrive at that particular station that early.
