I really miss building JoHan kits. It's a shame that the molds are no longer in existence, or so I have been told. They had the most interesting kits as well. Thanks for the glimpse into the past. No heart attack here. I have plenty of kits from the 70's, 80's and early 90's that I am planning on digging into in the near future.
That's awesome and I'd love to see them built and thank you very much for watching brother 😊
Amen brother. Models are to be built. What an awesome kit. The body moldings are crisp. That will be a sweet build.
Yes sir Robert and thank you very much brother!
Awesome kit , wow vintage MINT in the box !!!
WOW . NICEEEE😊
MIKE
Thank you very much Mike 😊
Nice cards Shawn that kit is nice I like the old kits something about opening them makes me happy
Yes they need to breathe in fresh air! Lol 😆
Thanks for the look in the box. The comparison of the 2 kits was interesting also.
Thank you very much Rick 😊
No hurt felt. As you say, model kits were intended to be built, and I hope that you have a good time building yours! You are very lucky to have one of those. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thank you very much Mark and it's a great kit!
Shawn, I think it's great to see this kit opened again. I had this kit years ago and used it to build a full custom 51 Chevy BelAir. Yep, I used the rear fenders and tail lights on it. But, back then these were everywhere. Wish I had another one to build now. Cool old kits. Great video had fun watching. Keep On Buildin' On. Paul
Thank you Paul and johans used to be everywhere for sure! Lol
Good presentation of DeSoto model.... Thanks Shawn for sharing!. Best regards.
Thank you Piloto 😊 💓
Love the Beautiful vintage Detroit Jo-Han plastic ❤ 💪🐭💸

A nice vintage Kit, which will become a cool model after you've finished it and then it rolls from your workbench, Shawn.

Jo-han made some beautiful cars. Thanks for showing us, Shawn. You needed a warning label flashing across the screen for collectors. Heart attacks and strokes in the modeling community jumped .1% .
Rob I wish that I would have thought of that!! Lol 😆
Someone jumped out the window, lol,, great look in the box and comparison to the original, :) 😎👍✌️
I hope that they don't try and get me for murder Tom? Lol 😆
Your my hero Sie, keep unwrapping them and i will keep watching them, haaaa. Cheers brother...

Hell I'm not even a model guy and I'm almost cried when you opened it. I like your style though brother you will open it and build it no matter what car and kit it is. When you do build it I will be looking forward to seeing what it looks like.
Thank you David and you know me I don't care!! Lol 😆 I love opening vintage kits!! ❤️

Adam thanks brother and I'll get you a card out brother!
61 Oldsmobile Wagon 😍❤😊🔥🔥
I have a 60 Adventurer kit that I built many years ago. I show it in a video I posted a couple of weeks ago. I loved those old Jo-Han kits and have a few. A friend of mine back then would play the same guessing game of what color the kit would be. Good times.
Awesome I'll check your video out!
Really nice unboxing .very cool looking kit. Seeing the difference between the two kits are cool to see. Love the shop card design as well.

Great video! I always wanted to get some Jo-Han kits but the ones I like are more on the pricey side compared to a more common model.
Yes they can get very expensive Austin but I don't see them getting any cheaper, so get to buying you some because I think that they're worth it 😉
Awesome!! I did say red to myself just before you opened it.

My brother and I had this very model. The completed version is still on the shelf in my bedroom
Do you still build models?
Can’t wait to see this built! Did any tornadoes come near your house in Arkansas during the November 4-5 tornado outbreak?

I sure wish that someone would make it again!
Nice video
Thank you very much 😊
hey shaun another cool johan kits iv yet to ever come across one for sale cause my local buys peoples personal stash if for sale so I'm gonna keep eye see if johan was ever collected by someone over here and end up selling the stash they eather inherit or collected but would make a cool video to find a legit old old school johan in my local in 21st centry
That would be a awesome video and I'm sure someone in Ireland would have to have a Johan kit? I know that they have them in England
Always like what you do brother. I know there are people out there you may have really affected by doing this. lmao. But like you say models are meant to be built. just like a lot of us RC guys DONT MAKE SHELF QUEENS. lol Another great video Shawn. I may send you my address for one of those Shop cards if you get a chance. ;)
Thank you Nick and please email me and I'll send you one 😊
I am in agreement with You 100 percent, with your stance of Model kits were made to be " built ! " "NOT" collected!! I find the outrageous practice of e-bay sellers to be deplorable and even worse the continued buying habits of the buyers which only condones this behaviour!
Sorry, I didn't mean to soap box there. It's just the way in which e-bay promotes this way of fair trade is horrible, well, in my opinion, I mean back in the day I did buy from e-bay, but, as the ridiculous range of prices continued, I opted to for go e-bay selections ever again. Oh, Sorry I did it again.
Thank You for sharing these JoHan kits with Us, wish I had a few of them, "TO BUILD!!" ha ha
I will have to find a few places like You did to look for hidden kits.
Thanks Again looking forward to the next video and George too!!! Love those videos!
Thank you Russell and you speak the truth and a very good place to find model is on the Facebook market place and do a local search! I hope that helps you in finding great old kits!
You're lucky. Johan didn't believe in inner bags, so those kits are usually tire burn city.
For sure!!
I enjoyed it but I’m sure some collectors just died!!
Hopefully not but I can't be held accountable if they do Brian! Lol 😆
You need to change your channel name brother! The Johan model car guy!👍👍
Good idea lol 😆
Dammit missed one 😋
Ha Ha I beat you to it Nigel 😜
I still have an unbuilt Jo-Han '70 HemiCuda Sox & Martin drag car. Anybody know what it's worth? I want to sell my old junk! I'm 69 and remember building this kit as a kid - well the original one that is - not this re-issue that says "oldies" - it was a new car when I built it in '60! - Jo-Han was the go-to for 50s and 60s Mopars. 🎸
Kits anymore are wort what someone is willing to pay for it? Johans are very cool kits and there my favorite!
I do like those fins on the back marra you could cut yourself on those , oh i guessed wrong again i went with yellow 😏Regards Gav.
Thank you Gavin and you was very close because it was red!! Lol 😆
At 12:47 you said it just as I was about to stop the vid and comment.
We BUILD model cars. They were meant to be fun and be built, not sit on the shelf in sealed plastic and rot.
The only time they should be sealed is on the shelf to be purchased. I buy old kits all the time and never buy sealed ones. Tjis was we can make sure its all there and tjere os no tore burn and the decals are ok. We can scan the decals and make new ones, but tire burn is a bitch to get out.
Rant over.....
So true!!!
