Very nice! Anthony Jackson is my all time favorite musician! ❤
Thanks for your comment 🙏🏼
On the original record I couldn't get enough of that bass lick at 3:22
great
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Very Good Skills Set, the sound was right on point. Thanks for the Tabs for sure.
Wow, thanks a lot for your comment 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Dude you abslutely crushed it
🙏🏼thanks for your kind words🙏🏼
I love it. This is one of my all favorite bass parts of AJ’s and I love how you play it on the detuned 4 string just like AJ did on his “Career Girl”. Fantastic playing! I dig it!
🙏🏼🙏🏼
thanks for the cover, great playing! can barely read notes, but with help of this video gonna learn to play it anyway
Thanks for your comment! Regarding learning how to read notes: this one will probably not be the most ideal one to start with, as you need to tune down your instrument….
Is there a way you can send me the backing track?
I’m not using a backing track, I play along with the song. Or maybe you just want the bass track??
The Chaka Khan recordings make me wish that Anthony Jackson stayed on that detuned Fender Jazz. His whole sound became unidentifiable when he switched to the Fodera 6-string. Yes, he wanted to evolve, but.....!
Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. I personally disagree with your statement that AJ's sound became unidentified after switching to the 6 string. Whether it's Fender, Ken Smith or Fodera, there isn't a single bassist who sounds like AJ. His work with Steve Khan, Michel Camilo, Hiromi…. That would not have happened on a de-tuned 4 string.
It's possible that you’re attached to a certain sound quality of a certain type of bass. But AJ’s playing became by no means unidentified because it is always the player who stands out the most. it's not the gun, but the gunner..
@charlesngtzm Don't get me wrong. Anthony is a beast on that Fodera. Them Michel Camilo records are crazy. I just like the sound of that Jazz Bazz. And I respect the fact that he wanted to evolve....!
Is your bass tuned to low C ???
Yes it is. C-F-Bb-Eb, like the original recording
Nice performance, but the fact that you are missing the entire "B" stave makes this an extremely frustrating read!
Anthony Jackson played this part on a 4 string. So I tuned it down, just like he did. You can’t play those fills on a 5 string with normal tuning, it doesn’t get as fluidly because you miss the open strings.
To play it on a 5 string would be different. I went for the original.
However: you could play it on a 5 string with a Capo on the first fret. :-)
@@charlesngtzm you misunderstand... I'm not referring to the low B string on an instrument, there is a stave missing in your notation, the b stave!
@@arpotoo7719 oh, I’m sorry. I guess that, despite of the fact that it’s been played on a 4 string bass, you still want to read the part on a 5 string TAB even though I don’t use a B-string? Is that correct?
@@charlesngtzm no! look at your notation... there is a blank where the stave line that would be the "b" stave would be..
@@charlesngtzm that's irrelevant. look at your notation.. not tabs. there are only 4 stave lines, there should be 5. the entire stave line in the notation upon which "b" would be intersected by a stave line is missing!
