I'd say with a current exchange rate of nearly $2 to the £1, cost of living is comparable to the UK with the exception of rego (which we don't have) and schooling (although trips here are extra also). Energy in Aus is far lower than the UK. This is based on my experience. This just shows how inflated everything has become in the UK, but sadly wages haven't kept up.

Another great video. Thanks Bam Famalam. I would first like to say how helpful your weekly video's are. We live in Ireland and would think the costs over in Australia are around 5-10 cheaper. Would I be correct in saying that your monthly bills would be around 3-4k depending on personal circumstances, excluding mortgage payments, entertainment and unforseen expenses. I think a very worthwhile point to mention is the income tax rates are significantly less than in Ireland (not sure about the Uk). I'll give you an example. In Ireland, 61k per annum (Euros) income, you would pay €17,180 in income tax or €28,690 in the Australian dollar equivent. In Australia, 100k income per year (61K in Euros), you tax bill would be $22,967 or €13,961. That's a saving of $5,723 dollars per year. Which is quite a big difference.
We'll be coming out for a recce in the next few months. Looking around Hope island and now with your influence, the sunshine coast 😊. Would love to meet up for coffee when we come out.
Thank you once again for the fantastic vid's and infectious enthusiasm regarding Australia.

Very comparable to Vancouver Island, Canada except food would be around 2 grand here, phones are super cheap there holy.. ours are like 90$ each phone. Fuel is over two bucks here. Only challenge is for our kids, they have zero chance of home ownership...which fits the WEF plan. We are putting a 2 bed suite in our place so as they have something. Homelessness is a massive issue here as young are just giving up. Is the dream lost there? Looks like it is to me for your kids. Worlds screwed if you ask me.
