What happened to Adesanya is what happens to every cocky fighter. He eventually got put in his place, if he fought with a little bit more respect for his opponents, he just may still be champion.

@@Topple362the quality of his reign was kinda ass though. He decisioned his way through fights that looked like sparring matches. The fact that Vettorri, Romero, and Cannonier started training again the very next day after fighting Izzy is a testament to how little damage was inflicted both ways in 3 of those title defenses. Personally I thought Romero and Whittaker in the 2nd Izzy fight did enough to take Izzy's belt, but somehow Izzy retained. So yea upon further inspection Izzy's reign was garbaugio

Adesanya isn't "hungry" anymore!!! He try very hard to maintain his hunger but it's different when you have real hunger or you faking it!!
I think he is at a point now where he doesnt have the same motivation, combined with a fighting style that is for young guys, while he is in his mid 30s now... he is most likely done. I think if he continues, he will probably win one, lose one, win one, lose one etc.
Also he is probably at a point where he has taken a lot of damage. Even if it doesnt appear that way, having 100+ fights and all that Kickboxing sparring under the belt, I dont think he will get back to the top to be honest.
If anyone deserves a tony ferguson losing streak, its izzy. Plz lets make this happen

If we blue sky it for a second (love him as a martial artist devoid from his quirks) then he rematches Strickland with a trilogy if its not a finish, then fights Alex at 205 for the MMA trilogy. Title shot if he wins, retires if he loses.
@@dextergeorge6641 This is the best case scenario for Israel. Unfortunately he may not be getting the Strickland rematch, which if he doesn't would make the guy you're replying to correct. Israel may be in a position where he doesn't have much left to prove, beating Strickland twice wouldn't even bring him back to where he was prior to the loss.
