#DJIMini4Pro #drone #mini2 - Zábava
Mini 2 is a great workhorse.
Mini 4 is a fantastic upgrade.
Nice run through. I'm sticking with my Mini 2. It hits above its weight in the photo and video department and I don't fly it in a way that needs obstacle avoidance. I'd like vertical shooting (I used it quite a bit on my old Mavic Pro as I prefer vertical shots for RAW pano stitches) and tracking would be fun now and again but neither of these is worth the upgrade cost (to me). Of course, if my Mini 2 throws a motor and drops into the sea, I'll be clicking the buy button on a Mini 4 Pro without a second thought!
if your using for photos there's still no reason to upgrade (unless you like vertical)
@@Matanumi I am not the biggest user of the drone and I definitely do more photos than video.
@@Matanumi using my mini 2 mostly for photos but I'd be inclined to do more video with a flat video profile if it had that option which is why I'd be considering upgrading
Hyperlapse is pretty awesome.
@@sideburn It does look cool. Still, I just got my yearly DJI Fly report and the lack of use is embarrassing and certainly means no point in rushing to upgrade. I love having it but just don't use it much
Still really happy with my mini 2. The feature I miss the most is active track for sure! When my mini 2 breaks down I'll definitely be buying the newest mini at that time. Maybe m4, hopefully a later version 😅
Thanks for the comparison with the Mini 2, which is still my drone (So far only two crashes and still going.) Trying to get the most use out of it. Good to know it's still respected.
I have both. The big difference for me is the confidence in transmission signal. You have to address the differences between the USA and Europe on this, as we have a reduced transmission range. I still enjoy, and use, the Mini 2 but sometimes the transmission is unpredictable and not just dependant upon range.
I used the Mini 4 for the first time last week whilst on holiday in Scotland and, after some initial trepidation based on using the Mini 2, I became confident that transmission would not be a problem. In addition the flashing lights on the legs made it much easier keep in sight in very grey conditions.
Is the camera better? A little, but not not what I'd call a professional camera, especially for still images, but that's the compromise between weight and sensor size. You still need good lighting to get decent image quality. I shoot in Raw format but if you're expecting the same image quality as a M43 or full frame sensor then dream on. D-Log M is very handy, as is 10 bit. Using DaVinci Resolve I use a DCTL to convert the Log footage to Arri Alexa LogC and then to DaVinci Wide Gamut which allows me to mix and match different Log formats.
Moving from the Mini 2 with the RC-N1 to the Mini 4 with the RC2 was a revelation. Being able to put the drone in the air within minutes, rather than trying to plug the phone in and boot up the app, is a game changer.
Is 360 degree OA important? I've had my Mini 2 for 2 years and have never crashed it (touch wood), and I treat the OA on the Mini 4 as if it isn't there. There is a danger of becoming reliant on the tech to replace common sense.
To conclude. Am I glad I bought the Mini 4? It's a close decision. If you're a photographer then I would say to save up and go for the Mavic 3 Classic or better as the sensor size increase will give a significant increase in image quality. Social media and B-Roll video? The Mini 4 offers a lot of functionality in an easy to carry package and out performs the Mini 2 in most areas.
Oh, and one thing I almost forgot. The Mini 4 is a lot quieter than the Mini 2 which always sounded a bit angry to me. The Mini 4 utilises larger props which probably contributes to the lower frequency.
Plugging the phone in really isn't a big deal..... people are lazy.
@@MatanumiIT really is my friend. And There are so many models that do not want to work with the app , and crash. People can call you when you are flying . Phone gets cold in winter. And things like that make the RC with screen a godsend.
@@michalszwed18 you can buy low cost, used phones without a phone service
I just don't get why the fancy new controller has the screen under the controls, so I have to hold it awkwardly and generally look down more. Why not put the screen above?
I don't care for that arrangement either
I recently sold my Mini2 (for the Mini4 pro) that I loved, as it was flawless in performance. For the money, the Mini2 will go down in history as the best bang for the buck, such a phenomenal flyer. 2+ mile range, excellent camera, could fight most winds and Always came home.
Agree
If I am mainly taking pictures of house roofs and chimneys etc for work, is it best to go for the 2 or just get the 4pro? We have a mini 2 at my current work, but I am setting up my own business surveying houses for people. The money isn’t a huge issue but I don’t really want to waste money on unnecessary features if the older model will do the job. Is the controller with the screen a lot better?
@@jonathanhowson6420 If you are using it like that, it is considered 107 type flying and requires RID.......absent in the 2, but the 4 does have it...doing those inspections you probably get pretty close and the 4 has all directional obstacle avoidane
Mini 2 might be the best drone ever made
nah fr got mine about 2 years ago things still going.
How? Because you cannot any others at the moment? But yes one of the most durable and solid drones released to date.
@@DungarooTV the controller, the range, the fly time, the wind stability, the 4K camera, all packed into a 249g frame that can be flown with minimal restrictions. Pretty awesome.
@@TMJ32 yes, why how is it the best drone ever made?
I'm still flying my Mini 2, but also upgraded to the Air 2 S. Each drone has its place. for now I don't need another, until one of them is worn out. Good video, summarizing the features really well. Thanks for posting!
Just a video I needed. Thank you. Will rock my Mini 2 on my coming Europe trip.
Have fun!
I’m still using the original mini with WiFi when it first came out. Mostly use it for flying practice in tight spaces or if someone is interested in getting a drone. I’ve never crashed it but my friends have and still runs great (only broke props).
One thing you didn't mention to people is that if you use the larger capacity batteries, ( or intelligent + batteries) the drone becomes heavier than 249 grams, and triggers RID (Remote ID) So please remember that everyone!
Great video!
What about the mini 4 landing light and the noise level difference? 😊
Great review! Is the tracking and autopilot functionality better than the Maven app?
I am still flying the original mini…’any’ obstacle avoidance would be lovely 😂
Would love the upgrade on the camera too. 😎
Just ordered the 4 pro; currently flying the mini 2. Yes, tracking features and obstacle avoidance are the main draws to the 4. The mini 2 is still a great drone.
Great stuff as always my man!
Great breakdown & comparison between the 2.
The obstacle avoidance option would be nice because I've crashed mine a few times, once resulting in a re-build, new gimbal connection & wing.
But, as long as I'm not being 'stupid' with it & I'm paying attention, it does exactly what I need it to do & MORE!!
Great video!
I love my Mini 2 but I will upgrade to get the vertical shooting, the cruise control and the active track functions. Also I think I will love the thought of having an integrated screen on the rc. 😊
Excellent video! I’m keeping my mini 2. Thank you 👍👍
Of corse. If you don't have money, keep the mini 2 and stay miles away from evolution
I had the original Mavic 1 and I replaced it with the Mini 2. The Mini 4 Pro has everything I wished the Mini 2 had when I bought it.
Ya it really does check the boxes.
Nice video, thank you. Think I will upgrade after watching this.
Proud owner Dji mini 2 drone🤟😎💯
Thank you very much for sharing
Great video, I appreciate it. I bought a mini pro 4 as my first drone but I didn't want to crash it learning to fly, so I got a Mini 2 to learn to fly with. It gets a little challenging but , I just need more flight time. The remote controls that you brought up, besides the difference in range and the on board screen, are there any other differences in the basic controller compared to the RC 12 controller? as in sensitivity or increased response time? thank you.
Great video ! was waiting for this comparaison as I have the mini2 which I love... I think I will stick to it for a while... only if the mini4 would have been faster I would have done the upgrade.
great comparison. haven't paid much attention to drones over the past few years since getting the mini 2 but the improvements in the 4 pro have been amazing
That's the comparison i am waiting for. It is a really nice comparison full of information about what a person requires
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and honest comparison !!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Mini2 has one major advantage over the 4. Drone hacks.... only reason why I won't ever upgrade from the mini 2. I can't see a new hack coming out for anything newer, I'd love to get the 4 but until that happens I'll stick with the 2.
yeah you like have to buy a pre hacked mini 3 pro from Europe which is very expensive.
and I would understand this- sometimes the bluezone unlock just DOESNT work properly locking you out of your flight (hence why I carry an autel nano)
Good, honest comparison!! Thank you!! Mini 2 still rocks!!
I really like this comparison. I'm thinking about the Mini 4 Pro. I'm coming from the Mini Air 2.
The best drone related channel on youtube! I bought mini 2 based on your videos, still enojoying it. No crashes so far , everything works great, I use it just as hobby so I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon. Thank you for your videos, Keep it up!
🙏🙏
I do mostly photography with my mini 2 but I feel that if it had a flat video profile that I would do more video with it which is why I'm considering the upgrade.
I was almost set on selling the mini 2 and getting the 4p. Now i'm keeping the 2 and saving up for the 4p.
Thanks for this review! Super helpful for us Mini 2 owners wondering about if the upgrade is worth it.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video!!
Nice work Aldryn
Thanks!
Lost my mini 2 in a tree, 2 weeks later had my mini 3 pro force land in a big river with 10% battery left. Just brought 2 second hand mini 2'S so I can fly stress free. Good video, thanks.
WHAT!!!!! 🪦
I’ve had pixelation issues on the Mini 2 video feed for over 2 years which DJI did not try to address. This does not affect video recorded to the SD card, it’s just while I’m in flight and can happen just a couple of meters away so not a signal issue.
My point is, I’m holding off buying another DJI drone because after sales support on technical issues that don’t appear to affect every one is poor.
The follow with obstacle avoidance is ALMOST making me think? Maybe before the summer: 😀
Did you have to use remote ID, my dji fpv drone will only take off if I connect my phone or remote ID with the new software update wont let me take off? Is these a way to get the original software back so the remote ID does'nt need to be used on take off?
Good topic, it’s a lot easier to justify an upgrade to the Mini 4 Pro, when your coming from a Mini 2, than when your coming the Mini 3 Pro. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
Absolutely
I’m still making money with my mini 2. Planning on upgrading to the air 3 for the video capabilities but the photos are still great on the mini. Never had a client complain
Hey man, how are you making Money? Tryimg to get into that here in Germany
Does the Mini 4 have SDK? If not, do you know when? Thanks...
Great Video. Can I ask if the extended batter in the 4Pro takes the weight of the drone to above the 249g limit?
Yup
Same issue with the mini 4 pro. Twitching issue when at high up in the air. Or turning left or right. Gotten this issue on the mini 4 pro .
I still love my mini 2 but I plan to purchase a mini 4. Just waiting till DJI work out all the bugs on this new drone because I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about issues they are having with this new drone.
Mini 4 is so solid. What issues are you hearing?
@@FlytPath I saw this one video from Russ @51drones that he posted while flying his drone and crashed into a tree even with the obstacle avoidance on. I know this technology is not 100% reliable like it's claimed to be and that the operator has to be aware of the surroundings at all times. I believe someday we'll get there, just not yet.
I stand corrected. I saw his video again and realized that he had turned off the obstacle avoidance but people are still managing to still crash their drones somehow.
From DJI SPARK vlogs to present.. damn I'm old! HAHAHA! always love the content!
Appreciate the support
For me I’d upgrade for the camera and remote, with the obstacle avoidance as a nice to have. Question is what would a mini 5 have? Mini 4 Definitely tempting
The mini five will have the option to attach a fifth motor and blades and a carry basket and heavier battery and optional telephoto camera
I have a Mini 3 Pro and I have had it replaced three times because of that stupid camera. Twitch when you are going from down to up it does it or when you are looking straight ahead and going full speed and then stop it? Does this weird little left twitch? I'm so aggravated with DJI because they keep telling me it's it's fixed
Still rocking the Mini 2 hopefully it will last me a long time.
I fly under Part 107. Spending $200 on a RID module for my Mini 2 didn't make much sense. So, I sold the Mini 2 FMC for $475 and got the Mini 4 Pro. The omnidirectional sensors open the doors for more automated work through third parties.
The Remote is the major upgrade for me., sa remote pa lang sulit na😁
You mentioned the gimbal twitch on the mini 2 which the Mini 4 (and 3) has resolved.
Have you noticed any jello on the Mini 3 Pro when the gimbal is pointed down? The Mini 4 Pro doesn't have that vibration issue.
Haven’t notice much on the 3.
Tracking may just make the upgrade a must for me.
It’s pretty awesome
Which drone should I buy?
Requirement is just for Instagram reels. Mini 2 SE or mini 3 or mini 4 pro
I still have my mini1. love you my crush u awesome❤
Just went to the Mini 4 after using the Mini 2 for years. Main reason is... WAYPOINTS! This is such a great feature to have so much more fun.
wha you think, is the 4 way more better?
how much
I just ordered the mini 4 pro a hour ago but I got the base remote , I’m not seeing if the remote w/o the screen and and antennas still has the c buttons or not
No C buttons but has one function button
nice
Thanks for the rundown. I own the mini 2. In the mini 4 pro how do the 48 megapixel photos work? Automatic stitching of multiple frames? With the mini 2 I sometimes take 3 photos and stitch them in Lightroom.
Is the obstacle avoidance effective to avoid wires and cables?
Obstacle avoidance most likely won’t see cables and small branches.
Look, if you want to evolve, don't question it so much. Keep up with evolution or stay in the stone age
I’m sticking with my mini too also
I have taken some nice videos from time to time with my mini 2, the only frustration that you talk about in your video is the damn camera has issues staying in place and at moderate to higher speeds or a decent wind the camera tends be pushed downwards. That is honestly my biggest annoyance that wants to make me upgrade the little guy.
Might trade in my Mini 2 for an Avata 2.. Kinda want to try something entirely new, but it seems used prices are still high on the Mini 2, so that's great! You totally missed the sound comparison from your video though.
Are the mini2 propeller compatible with the mini 4 pro?
No, the mini 4 props are much longer
Hallo, I went from DJI Mavic Mini 1 to the DJI Mini 4, after waiting for ages... and now I am sitting with my DJI Action 2 I have an action 1 (as well) what struck me is that the 1 over 2 over 3 over 4 have a great value..
Thanks for sharing
I Did The Upgrade And IT Was Worth it i can Tell you !!!!!
Nice video, but I think it is unfair not to mention the huge price difference between the two.
Mini 4 has always on RID, the Mini 2 has no RID.
sure? why mini 4 is C0 ,i thougt rid only for c1 and higher
I still have the mini 1. How about a comparison between the Mini 1 and the Mini 4?
Nothing to compare at this point. Mini 4 blows it away.
Video only upgrade besides side sensors photo ability exact same sensor etc. Mini3 has same quadbaer quadbayer 48mp over sensor same as 4 and it absolutely is better than just standard 12mp setting.
Mini 4pro is cool, but I'll stick to my Mini 2 for now 😊
But i winder if they will Make a Mini4 like how they made a Mini3 n Mini 3pro 🤔
Sold Mini 2, with the intention of getting Mini 4 Pro. But evwn with all the enhancememts over Mini 2, it is expensive....🤔 Wondering if keep waiting for Mini 12 PRO or just bite the bullet.
you'll be waiting for a lonngggg time
Has anyone notice the outer shell of the Mini 4 Pro is much more thinner/softer and makes this creaking sound when squeezed compared to the Mini 2’s where it’s clearly harder? I am guess this is to cramp in more tech while allowing the new Mini 4 Pro to be more flexible and nimble?
I'm waiting for the DJI Mini 13½S Air Pro, by then, maybe it will no longer have Geo fencing.
Until then I'll stick with my Autel drones.
Heck yeah it's worth the upgrade because I just did!
Def worth the upgrade if you use the features.
@@FlytPath The tracking feature(s) and way points feature are really innovative for my use case and I'm sure I'll be using them on a regular basis. But first, I need a lot of practice, coming from the Mini 2 I'm amazed at all the great new features of the Mini 4 Pro.
From look and dimensions, mini 2 is the best, look futuristic and long last
I like how Dji does not outdate there drones
i would say. if your on a budget buy the mini 2 and if you need to upgarde just sell it people still want the mini 2 so its not so hard to.
Mini2 is more than enough for me, no mmatter what and how good OA, it will not live long. Buy some old one for fun.
I have the original Mavic Mini. How much better is the 4 Pro?
Day and night
Proud Mini 2 fly more combo since new. and I've been saying when the mini 5 drops maybe I'll upgrade. I paid 600$ that was a deal the prices are crazy so I'll save my pennies
I have the mini 2, but can't justify spending another thousand, even for the many improvements on the mini 4
Yup. Mini 4 is a big upgrade, if u need it.
if DJI made a drone space ship in the far future, that’s like Tesla x10 smart, (hopefully safe) in the air and we ain’t got to pilot it, just choose a location and we going! ROFL
Obviously if you can afford it and justify the price, upgrade and get the Mini 4 pro. Or better yet the Air 3.
It is not just a major upgrade, its a humongous one.
dji upgrades move so fast
I see minimal difference in range
Premium comparison.
I am broke af, so i am keeping my mini 2 :) but if i had to choose, i d buy the air 3.
Was super happy with the mini 2 , bought used for 450 flown it for a year and just sold it for the same price as I mostly flew fob for fun instead of videos making , waiting for the depretiatio. curve to hit the avata lol.
But I’m glad I got out of it just before the mini 4 came out , now many people that follow my same buying philosophy will be looking into mini 3 and mini 3 pro
Hope someone replies. What's up everyone? I'm new to drone and have dones my research on them. My budget will only allow me to either get a used dji mini 2 fly more combo OR a brand new dji mini 2se fly more combo. I know the mini 2 has a better camera but the "used" part is making me not so interested. What do I do?
Go mini 3 base package
@FlytPath I was thinking that but the single battery is my issue.
@@jasonwashington8697 buy it and see how u use it. If u need another battery, then buy one.
Can I please buy mini 2 from you please
Mini 2 is the best beginner drone, Mini 4 Pro (for almost 1,200$) definitely not beginners drone, it has tons of functionality that would be too overwhelming for a beginner - i used to have Mini 2, its more than capable drone for casual flying and filming
Mini 4 pro is $759
@@FlytPath Sorry forgot to mention “with RC2” controller it’s almost 1.200$ (which in my opinion is one of the biggest upgrades for this drone) , and to me there is no point of buying this drone without RC2 controller which is essential for this beautiful flying machine…. I tried using the first gen RC remote - there’s no going back to anything else))
Think I'll stick to my mini 2 for now. Only problem is 3/4 of my batteries have swollen to the point where I can't use them, even with minimal use and proper storage. Big disappointment there DJI!
mini 3 as opposed to the mini 2, imo
My main issue is the new licensing for GEO location wherever you fly with the mini 4 pro. What is the deal with that nonsense??
The other day, i decided to fly my mini 2 in my house to show off to my 3 yr old. It is currently wrapped in an urban camo skin. Which resulted in me crashing at a decent speed into the pantry. Upon initial crash inspection, all seemed well... Besides, the front / top of the body had popped up no biggie, see what's in the way, press it back together, and power ON. GIBAL ERROR The poor camera was literally fully titlting left to right while the drone was flat in the kitchen table. My wife was not home & it was a good thing too because i realized the full left sode of the gimbal frame was STICKING OUT OF THE FRONT OF THE MINI 2'S FACE. I referenced a full disassembly video while talking to the wife who was on her way home. I realized right away that Skin was gunna make this a CHORE. After carefully removing a bunch of screws, rubber bumpers, plastics, the warranty void if removed the sticker, telling my wife what i did & a bit of luck, i was able to adjust the gimbal into proper position & operation. I've had the mini 2 since its release. crashed it a few GOOD times, and yet, even at -25 in AK, this thing is a BEAST. i honestly just found out about the mini 4, which seems like a huge upgrade but i dont use my mini 2 enough to want a better version of it. And anytime i fly it its so much fun. Ps when i first got it i clipped a tree at -20 which clipped a blade been running with it since jahaha
It probably does not matter to most...but the 4 is RID compliant, whereas the 2 isn't
