- Our PRS Sculpture series is coming to an end, with this Private Stock being the second-to-last piece ever produced.
For this build, we wanted to capture the essence of a traditional acoustic guitar in electric form. Since the original Sculpture ‘Study’ guitar was an experiment in tonewood, weight, and design, we decided to bring back a couple of the things we learned.Weight is extremely important to tone and resonance. This guitar utilizes lightweight mahogany in its body and a spruce top, helping the weight ring in at only 3.7 pounds.

Definitely nails the acoustic sound. Impressive guitar, and nice playing!
Nails the "amplified acoustic for an audience that hasn't heard a real acoustic in years" sound.
Wow! Super interesting concept! I always wondered about these! Jay’s touch was such a nice pairing with the sound of the guitar!! Very cool!!
If PRS could add an internal mic and charge $2999 these could be huge for acoustic performers.
Just buy a fishman piezo it's like 300
@@yussufalkamaal912 I want an internal mic or body sensor.
Nice job Amar and Jay -- and the whole team!
Art. Pure Art. And Jay kicks ass.
Nice playing and sounding guitar
That has some impressive sound!!! That acoustic sound is really weird coming from a guitar that looks like this!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for leaving the divots off!!
Looks MUCH better without the divots. DIdn't like those on the earlier guitars. I do think it would have suited an f hole, but I guess it wouldn't quite fit what you were aiming for.
you just did a variax . . with a crazy price. .
I think it’s really interesting looking but not realistic for 95% of the guitar buying population. I like the tone too, pretty balanced. Like Aaron mentioned in a previous comment a mic option would be great. Some cost reduction options to bring the cost down to no more than $3500 and you could actually sell them to more musicians. Nice work on this concept though.
1:49 A mahogany back and NUCK
Mango 🥭 Piezo
Yes!
It sounds like a $500 Takamine.
It's just crazy how much money you save when you hate piezos, like I do.
Look at us bringing back simplicity in a world of atrocities.
14,999 dollars? Are you serious?
It’s not a guitar for people like us, prs make guitar from 500 to 50000 like you and I are not the target audience for like 10k guitar but sure someone will buy it
It is private stock. Completely custom one off. Like this has to be made almost entirely by hand and using like the top woods and materials they have.
Nothing justifies 14k 20k price for a guitar
@@yussufalkamaal912 people’s time and labor justify it. You are talking extremely highly skilled craftspeople building this. You are talking one off guitars too. This is not just running through the factory floor alongside the regular production.
Let the blind lead the blind
what a horrible sounding beautiful guitar
Would love to hear a soundboard transducer or body mic in it. Undersaddle piezos sound 🤮
$14,000????? No way. Was def thinking like $899 or so. Taylor T5 sounds better than this and it actually has a body censor to make it sound more acoustic.
Meh... you can get an Ovation that sounds much better and looks awesome for a tenth of that price.
sounds cheap; looks expensive. blah blah blah, mastercard.
14 grand to sound almost-but-not-quite as good as a 600 dollar acoustic
Particular.
