Though the koto is influenced heavily on the Chinese guzheng, it produces a beautiful sound that is uniquely it's own. The sound of the Yamato culture of Japan.⛩🇯🇵🗾
@@ambitiousheart5441 Honestly, I disagree. Every instrument is different and perfect in it's own way . They all produce different types of sounds to create music. So there is no better or perfect instrument as they are all different.
That's incorrect. Guzheng is actually an ancestor of koto and Japanese borrowed many Chinese styles of playing. Historically, Chinese civilization is way more ancient than other East Asian cultures. If you look at Japanese or Korean musical instruments you'll find that most of them came from China. No, it doesn't mean that Japanese or Korean cultures aren't unique. They are. But it's just wrong to speak antihistorically
I am glad that you enjoy this performance. It was a rare opportunity to observe at her own residence with private performance for our small group. I have heard this song before in Thailand during the Japanese occupation of Thailand during the WW II.
victor Martinez so am glad that you like it. I have heard this song long time ago. I was originally from Bangkok and during second world war. Thailand was occupied briefly by Japanese army. And of course this song was popular and remains so in my brain. So when I have a great opportunity to listen to by a master, so I record it and share to the world if people who appreciate it.
And this is why we shouldn't let laymen decide copyright cases in music. (ie Katy Perry v Flame) The two pieces are centered around A minor. Sakura Sakura uses the miyako-bushi scale which is closer to our A Phrygian Pentatonic and Interstellar's main theme is in A natural minor and is literally a motif repeated over and over again. They are very different. It's incredibly annoying when someone hears a pedal point melody or a minor interval and decides it must be plagiarism because they're musically illiterate.

To be honest with you,The sound of the Japanese Koto is more tense and balanced,As a Chinese, the Koto is more perfect than the Chinese Guzheng....👏
Is Yamato culture the same as Heian culture or is the Yamato culture from an earlier period?

I have herd many SAKURA Sakura songs on koto...but belive me....This one is the bestest of them all🙂
You should check the Sakura song by toshiko yonekawa
Beautiful! I put my harp in the pentatonic scale as my harp is turned to E flat major, this allowed me to copy the sound of the Koto remarkably.
Would you put it in your channel ? I really want to hear this played in harp 🤩🤩
This is how a true master sounds like. And looks like this.
I have profound respect for them.
i love how the melodies turn out, it's just clean and calming, i love it ~~

変曲し過ぎた感のあるサクラの演奏を良く聞きますが、この方の演奏はオリジナル部分をきちっと最後まで維持された、聞く者にとってはこれが「サクラだツ!」っと納得出来る素晴らしい演奏だと感じました。
