Susan Helms Joins Astronaut Hall of Fame

- Helms became an astronaut in July 1991. She flew on STS-54 (1993), STS-64 (1994), STS-78 (1996), STS-101 (2000) and, in 2001, while serving as a member of the second crew to live aboard the International Space Station, performed the longest spacewalk ever at 8 hours and 56 minutes. Susan Helms logged 5,064 hours in space.

Susan Helms was on Expedition 2 with the help of fellow hall of fame members Scott Parazinsky and Chris Hatfield of Canada the arm was installed on the station on STS 104 she had the pleasure of putting the airlock on the station. welcome to the hall of fame Susan Helms

I talked to Susan Helms while she passed over in the ISS on May 19 2001 via Amateur Radio! My only regret is not sending for a QSO card!
