"Western Settlers" = People who massacred the natives including children to steal their land!
Big huss is a low Baller!
Did they just call in Rick as an expert.
It was rigged
This show is so bogus. You ever see their written skits they act out? Oof...
American Pickers are pretty corny too. And don't get mr started on that island treasure show thing.
I know how cheap
@@spridle I agree but make me laugh sometimes
It never ceases to amaze me that people would bring something of real value to a pawn shop.
Quick and easy money.
@@amadeusbrandenburg6439 But nowhere near what it's worth. Hey, "ordinary stuff" I could understand; I did a lot of business with my local pawn shop. But something like this??? Nah, don't think so.
It's mad, take it to auction and get the market value- they must all be desperate for quick money for drugs or something.
Yeah I know right? Cause this is totally just a regular pawn shop that buys tv's and PlayStations.
@@Zachhudson000 That's not the point- You will get closer to market value selling at auction, versus quick money in the pawn shop. That's okay with lower value items because you are losing a smaller amount of money for the convenience. Selling a $100,000 item in the pawn shop means you will lose maybe $20,000 compared to auction to get your money quicker.
“Let me call my expert”
*Yells across the store to his dad*
If I went in there to sell something and Corey came over I'd just leave. He's the king of lowballing.
And the king of awkward handshakes
They all are. It’s a pawn shop. You can’t expect top dollar.
U don't take your items to a pawn shop hoping to get a good deal. Rofl 🤣
I just saw Corey pay $3000 for a $3500 guitar.
Learned it from Rick !
I love how Rick wants to walk off like he is Rebecca after giving a value
Not to get too psychoanalysis on this, but around this time Cory was wanting to be part owner so his dad was stepping out and letting him negotiate as that's the best way for him to learn.
@@abecx thanks for sharing
Very Wriggley.
The walk off comments r madd corny.
Corey rarely knows what something is worth. As Rick said, it goes in one ear and out the other
The editing of Rick shooting the coin is very sus.
Crazy, right. It's almost like it's a TV show.
Right? Would have hit the camera before you hit the coin.
That part was so fake and cringey. That’s scripted television for ya.
You're sus for using the word sus, bet
and nobody cares
Felt bad for the Aussie, had to hear so much talking and didn’t even get half of what it’s worth🤣
same i think his asking price was fine
NOBODY gets...probably even a THIRD of what this stuff could sell for if they waited just a few weeks if they put it on ebay or into an actual auction. The entire point of a pawn shop is to make sure they screw people over for the biggest amount they can, so they can make around 300% on EVERYTHING that comes through the door.
@@definitelynotjasonmomoa The entire point of pawnshops is that sellers can get a lump sum of money and not have to deal with all of the effort of selling it online or at auction
@@NeoCreo1 wow! Thank you so much! I NEVER COULD HAVE FIGURED THAT OUT WITHOUT YOU!
3 to 4 grand so half is 1500. Any pawn shop ever has to assume they will get the minimum value. You can expect to get about half of that. If someone doesn't like it then they can sell it themselves and not be lazy.
Having Rick play the expert for an item his own shop is about to buy is the equivalent of a cop investigating themselves after misconduct.
Yeah i was thinking the same 🤣
They do it everyday
But this actually happens… Oooh, I see what you did there…
@@axilleasNo it doesn't.

Right!? As an "expert" he severely low balls the seller. I've seen low balling on this show but not to this level lol dudes either telling these people to run and find somewhere else, or he's trying to help sucker people for his own intentions lol

I honestly didn't expect such a low ball in the first clip with the Australian guy.

There’s no way you’d take it there without checking the worth of it at least online . Then take the pawn shops word on what it’s worth .
@@LLE08071635 it doesn't matter, honestly. You have to EXPECT to be screwed if you walk into a pawn shop to sell anything. Most pawn shops won't take anything unless they can make at LEAST 300% on the item.
Like that 3 trigger? The barrel ALONE was worth around $7,500-$10,000 being REAL Damascus steel, not "pattern steel"

Why do people think having a document notarized add any weight to the deal? A notary only affirms that the person signing is who they say they are, NOT that what they are saying, is true
Because if someone who can certify its authenticity signs an affidavit swearing it is real and this is its lineage, and the notary confirms that was the person who in fact signed the affidavit, you have some added certainty as to its authenticity.
Going to a notary back in the 1950-60's probably carries more weight than now a days.
