Hi Chris, excellent tips as always, thank you. I am generally run 3500 psi pressure washers and mostly just for my own personal use. I do remember being told years ago to run a 1 inch hose as you need the volume of water to operate the big pumps, do you find this to be the case? Thanks.

Not true. Its all about advertising and appearance. There's plenty of people who want high quality work and are willing to pay for it. You just need to make sure your the person able to fulfil that want.

I try to treat the nozzle of the pressure washer (and a paint spray gun) similar to how I would treat the muzzle of a firearm... same respect for potential injection injuries.

I watched the majority of your videos, always great. But as a professional power washer, every single thing you said and did in this video was wrong. Theres so much Im gonna make a list. It was really painful to watch.
    1. PSI means nothing, its all advertising. GPM is want you want. More water equals more cleaning. Pressure can be adjusted with the nozzle not the machine.
    2. "Pressure Washing" is an outdated term, soft wash is what you want. There is nothing the right chemical cant clean, you don't need pressure to wash a house. Even concrete doesn't require 4000 psi pressure.
    3. If you can teach a skill in 5 mins, you not teaching a skill. It took me years to learn to clean and Im still learning every day. We dont let a new guy touch a gun for the first month of working with us.
    4. Safety first. Start your machine with two hands. Get a 20$ ball valve to put at the end of your hose and have your hose on the ground with the ball valve open for both starting and stopping your machine. Those machines will break if left on without a release of pressure, so the ball valve is how you idle by taking off the gun and letting the water flow.
    5. Organics are 90% of the mess that needs to be cleaned off a house. Mold, Lichen, Mildew, etc. Pressure does nothing to kill these and they will come back in weeks when cleaned without sodium hypochlorite. It will look like its gone to they naked eye but its still there and will spread rapidly again. Sodium hypochlorite is all natural and very easy to use.
    6. Property protection. Hearing you only damaged something once in 20 years sound less realistic then someone catching a Unicorn and riding it to work. Tape every electrical outlet, box, and light. Pressurized water at weird angles can get into electrical much easier then you think. Avoid putting pressure on anything at all cost.
    7. Oxidization is why you dont use pressure. Uniformly removing oxidization with pressure is near impossible or at very least highly inefficient. It will take forever and require perfect uniformity. Either dont remove it with a low pressure wash or do it quick with an oxidization remover.
    8. If you spending more then 45-60 mins cleaning a house, your doing it wrong.
The proper way of cleaning a house is low pressure with bleach. Theres nothing on my 100k rig that a homeowner can't do with a garden hose, bleach, and a 30$ soap sprayer. My rig just does it in 45 mins instead of 8 hours.

Philly Love - May I ask how many 2-3 story house you removed oxidation using a 5 gallon bucket and a brush?
You can remove oxidation using some pressure before painting.
I’ve seen many disappointed customers with bleached decks and fences by bleach lords.
Painting is much harder and needs more knowledge job. You need more steps and chemicals to bring the wood back to the natural look and the right pH.
It’s not always the case to spray bleach using the shooter tips, pressing a button on remote and rinse off a vinyl siding house.
It kills the roots but if there’s the right conditions for algae mold and mildew to grow, they will grow right back no matter how many % bleach you used. That’s just a marketing using bleach prevents growing back.
