I did this thing with the water after this. This has changed my life. I was shaking while doing it and I always had a problem with drinking water. I felt so sick I thought I had to throw up, but instead my body collapsed onto the floor like Teal described and I cried for an hour. I already feel the difference. Everyone should try this. My ex would humiliate me and I could not stand up for myself and justified him, I actually thought he loved me. Now I see clearly how this had nothing to do with love. Self love changes your perspective.

You are my inspiration Teal, you are giving me motivation to escape from this abusive home and reside somewhere peaceful and beautiful.
What I enjoy the most about Teal is her HONESTY. This is the aspect of this young lady that I find most appealing.
Take the political candidates of today. They lie, they cheat, they steal, pay millions of dollars to people just like them, they even kill, and for what? World Peace?? Nowadays, a favorite saying is, "Pick your poison." Chose the best from the worst. This is insanity in its purest form. If you don't see a candidate worthy of your vote, show your disappointment by not voting for anyone! Picking the less of two evils only begets more evil.
I particularly like what she said about ABUSE. As when Teal walked out of an abusive room, don't allow yourselves to be abused for forced to do something you don't want to do. I remember watching a very famous acting teacher publicly humiliate a young man on stage. I was outraged. I didn't pay to see someone beaten up, I came to learn. I should have walked out of the room as Teal did, but I didn't have the courage. I regret that lack of moral fortitude to this very day.
I'm an old fart now, going on 67. But in my heart and mind I'm just 18, still searching and looking for truth and meaning in life. In these many decades, I've heard many spiritual gurus and teachers-some good, some not so good, some outright frauds. And in all this time, I find myself, either consciously or unconsciously, often criticizing their philosophies and techniques. But in this young woman, I have found a very special guide, not a perfect one, for no one knows all of the mysteries of the universe, but a person who has learned through pain and suffering, and like the Phoenix of mythology, has somehow risen to become someone whom I consider a great teacher and deep soul. This is her true gift and lasting value.

When you don't know love, you don't know what it means, so you don't know what it means to love yourself. People who say love yourself usually know what that means. I grew up with a narc mother. She finally exited my life at 89 years old, I am now 54. I have seen all the abuse, became the shell that Teal speaks of in this video. I can honestly say I am learning to love myself, setting boundaries, it's a long, slow process.

My mom kept telling me growing up- if you really loved the family you would find a man that gets along with all of us- I told her no, because I love myself too much- so I'll find a man that I really love and the family can learn to get along with him- so teal I know exactly where your coming from with the parent relationship with abuse and love
I figured out about the "magic question" too......I phrased it this way: "What would happen if I loved myself?" and I found the same transformation too! The "answer" is hidden in a "question" because if you ask a question, then you are in a state of "curiosity" and "creativity" over saying affirmations, which is a totally different energy. ASKING creates possibilities, and putting LOVE in the "question" creates the potential for "what would happen if....LOVE were present"..! Love your vids, goddess!

Yeah. I've given Teal some criticism in this medium, but it was always related to the content, not because of her past nor because of how much money and how she earns it. Those are bs reasons. Teal's given a whole lot of good stuff here and while everything in it may not for everyone instantly, you should for your own sake before all, to appreciate what you did get and to Make Good Use of it.

That is absolutely true. No one can tell you how to love yourself. If you were severely abused as a child you have no concept of self love IN THAT you do not know that you can MOVE AWAY FROM ABUSE. You have the right to move away from abuse. Children who have been severely abused will simply stay there and you do that in adult relationships as well. You stay there. You choose an abusive person and then you stay there. You don't know things can be different. Teal Swan REALLY knows the path. I know this for a fact. I know it too. Her advice is very, very, very good.

hi teal the way you explained it gave me a tears in my eyes, as i could completely relate to what you were saying, and also because of the emotion you showed, i can see that you really struggled dealing with that emotion at some time, so i think that those haters had any sense of empathy or (goodness) they would've known that you were as true and honest as can be, i am a musician, and was never able to write songs about an emotion that did not belong to me, it always has to come from the heart, otherwise i would've felt dishonest almost as if i'm disconnected to my work, and that's one of the things you mentioned. this speech came straight from the soul, great to know that wonderful people like you exist in this world. Excuse my english.

Thank you for being so radically committed to self-love and authenticity. It seems like you are not afraid to show confidence in your answers and also vulnerability when that is what is true for you. So often we feel we have to behave in a way that hides our confidence at some times (lest we attract people who call us arrogant and self-centered) or hide our vulnerability (for fear that we'll be called weak). I like that you are who you are and have chosen not to hide that, even if someone on earth can spot or rationalize some imperfection. I've been searching for most of my adult life for how to attain self-love, self-esteem, and true confidence and found myself saying exactly what you said about everybody knowing self-love is necessary, but nobody knows how to get it. Can't wait to get your book. You are beautiful! Thank you Teal!

Pay no attention to who likes of dislikes, just reflect what it means to you. There is a message for each one of us in this, some will not want to see the shadow parts of self and respond from that space, as a healed person wouldn't dislike it, they would honor the courage of her journey. Some will find it profound (I have many clients that I will pass this onto, those that were abused and are reaching out to be healed this is a great technique ) Teal's 'water experience' 4+ minutes in is fantastic! and can be used for endless purposes! I know the power of thought, and vibration attached to anything, but water is extremely powerful. Congrats Teal for your 'awakening' and the power to find self-love, with is more empowering and helpful to the plant than any other thing.

That is an insanely brilliant book. I am 53 and have read about a hundred self help books but nothing touched this book. Teal is a difficult character and not someone to be on the wrong side of (which I have been). But this book really changed my life.

This was very moving and eye-opening and heart opening. I’ve struggled with being a composer and musician and being seen as selfish because I only think of myself in that I put my music ahead of everything else. But I’m wondering if music can be just as powerful as being a truth speaker like yourself? Can some thing that makes me very happy and fulfilled also be as beneficial to others? I have struggled with this my entire life. My family has seen my music obsession as unhealthy and detrimental to functioning in the world. So I’ve had a lot of push pull with it. Music has fed my soul on a very deep level and I am continuing to study and compose music. I just have always felt this sense of inadequacy by choosing this particular life path. Like it I took the selfish path instead of the virtuous path. Your piece on what would someone who loves them selves do really helped open this conversation up. Thank you 🙏

Im reading the" shadows before dawn" at the moment and so far I'm loving it. The only thing im missing in the book is, what it is to love yourself? I do the " what would a person who love themself do now", but often my answer is " i don't know! Cause i don't know the answer and have not had much soft loving words spoken to me so it's hard for me to model something i don't know the behaviour or patterns of!
Perhaps you are thinking instead of feeling? I find videos and techniques on stepping out of the mindspace and into the heartspace to be helpful
