I found this secret out by talking to the Prawn in the bong in Flotsam Vale! If you break him out with the mantis punch, he tells you Pagurus is allergic to bananas!

You’re telling me I spent two hours fighting this guy far too under leveled doing little damage when I could have brought a banana with me to do major damage?
Yeah, I wanted to try this one too after I found that guy in the jar. I just end up beat his ass the old style but I love exploring everything so I was already pretty strong before I had to fight him.
I love this little details so much but when I did this it was to beat him early, and let me tell you it ain't easy dodging this guy with those fish around, only one bloodstar and no vitality upgrades
I actually took that bit of trivia as a challenge. I had the banana peel for if I got grabbed, but I managed to fight and defeat Pagurus without exploiting his allergy.
Oh so that's what happens, when i did this i just used the hammer ability and stuck a banana to kril's fork instead then hit him with it until it broke
I actually killed Pagurus before going to Flotsam Vale, so when I found the locked prawn there, Kril straight up just told him that he had already killed it, so the prawn was like: "Oh, okay then, so I have no secret left to tell ya then, bye" lol It was only later that I found out that you could use a banana peel shell to remove more than half of its health lol

Wear the banana shell, and avoid getting hit by every attack besides his red attack. You want to be hit by that attack. He’ll pull your banana peel off with his fork and eat it. 🫡

That works for literally every enemy in the game. Problem being that there isn't a soap in every level.
