How I Solved the PETROL MISSING Issue on my YAMAHA RX100 🔥

- Yamaha RX100 was the go-to bike for two-wheeler enthusiasts back in the 80’s and early-90s. Back then, the Yamaha RX100 not only set a benchmark for two-stroke motorcycles but also single-handedly changed people’s perspective towards motorcycling.
The Yamaha RX100 was launched in November 1985 and the company kept manufacturing it until March 1996. The government’s decision to pull the plug on all two-stroke motorcycles ended of the Yamaha RX100's reign in India. But the success story carries on even today
The RX100 was the result of Yamaha going back to the drawing room after the RD350 failed to light up the market. But even Yamaha couldn’t have anticipated the outcome of their radical approach, making the Yamaha RX100 the legend it is today. The best example of this is that enthusiasts are still willing to handover hefty amounts of money in order to own a well-maintained example of the RX100.
The Yamaha RX100 was powered by an air-cooled, 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke motor that produced 11PS @ 7500rpm. Power was sent to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. The company also claimed a 0-60kmph time of 7.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Yamaha RX100 was not only reliable but affordable as well, making it accessible to many. The performance and reliability factor made it a winner in the eyes of enthusiasts. In fact, the Yamaha RX100 became one of India’s best-selling two-stroke machines, until it was replaced with the RX-G.
The part that makes us spring with joy are the rumours of Yamaha reviving the RX100, but with a four-stroke engine instead. However, our excitement levels have dimmed down as there has been no official confirmation from Yamaha as of yet. So, till we get a solid confirmation on its comeback, we can only wait and anticipate that the RX100 will once again revolutionise the Indian two-wheeler commuter segment. TVS Victor now competes with Yamaha RX.

I had the same problem in my rx 135 I observed that the fuel was not going from the fuel tank to the carburetor so basically there was no air flow so there was high pressure in the fuel tank due to which the fuel was not flowing through the pipe. but after removing the packing problem got solved

My Rx100 keeps vaporizing petrol from the fuel lid. So I used tyre tube rubber cutout and on the tank mouthpiece and then close the lid. So I have to carefully do a hole in the rubber otherwise the tank does not get air and fuel doesnt pass below. But every 2 weeks you have to put new rubber because petrol eats the tyre tube rubber and cuts it. Still this hack saves a lot of fuel as before the petrol doesnt leak from the tank lid.
I have changed multiple original minda fuel lid covers, but still always petroleum smell keeps coming from the fuel cap. 5 minutes in sunlight, you can smell petrol smell while even standing 1 feet away from the bike.

@@AyushGupta-qr8sg please read I have suggested the fix which I use. Its not very efficient because rubber gets torn by petroleum within 2 weeks. But it saves you a lot of petrol wastage and old tyre tube rubber is basically free, you can get it from any puncture repairer. Cut a small circle little bit bigger than the tank mouthpiece, make a tiny hole in it using scissor, and then just close the tank lid with this packing. After 10-15 minutes time just put your nose near the fuel lid and smell if petroleum is still vaporing or not, if u get petrol smell, then use 2 rubber cutouts.

Yes. The fuel tank has only 2 points of entry and exit. One is below where you put fuel pipe. And other one is the fuel mouthpiece on top. If air doesn't pass from the lid to the mouthpiece inside the fuel tank, there will be no air pressure inside the tank and fuel It will create vaccum inside. Due to this vaccum, fuel will not flow down the pipe, instead It will stay in equilibrium. For flow of liquid you need pressure difference. Simply take a bottle and Peirce a hole in its bottom, fill It water, when bottle cap is tightly closed, Water will not flow out of the hole, because of the same phenomenon.
Other case in fuel lid is excess petrol leakage due to extra air getting inside the tank through the sides of the mouth ring + the tiny hole in the fuel lid rubber. In this case, the petroleum starts to evaporate and vaporize from the tank lid and you lose a lot of petrol even if bike is not used. This case happens with my Rx100 and I have changed multiple fuel lids but still same problem
So I use a rubber cutout from old tyre tubes and use it as extra packing before closing the lid.

This happened to me twice. The uno Minda tank caps don't come with breather hole correctly placed. They need to be adjusted. I had once commented this same thing when you talked about this problem in an older video.

@@izenwillie nothing specific but after removing the packing the big rubber seal seams to lose some gap. Should not hamper anything ig.

@@pnv1974 just take out the cap and poke a hole in the foam-cartboard coating below the rubber metal seal. You will see a hole in the metal-rubber seat but the hole doesn't go through the cartboard foam surface. The goal is to make the hole on the foam surface

So rx 100 isnot for cruising long rides in 100kmph.
U can ride it at 100kmph for some time but not for cruise.
Surely engine will seize & damage.
