How to be a technology consultant with NO EXPERIENCE!

This is probably the most asked question (second to what is technology consultant) that I am ever asked on my channel in your comments, and I kept providing the same answers, so I thought it was time to do a dedicated video! I go over what to do and how to do it if you have no work experience, have no technical experience or background, have no consulting experience or resources (other than my channel!), how to be well read, and how to bring it all together at the end! Hey Christine!!
I've been binging your channel ever since I bagged an interview with Accenture a few weeks ago. I love your content, it's super motivating! And I have today received an offer to work with them as a Platform Experience New Associate 😁
I am glad, however I have long term goals to establish a career in Data Science. A little bit about me;
- I don't have a University degree
- Outside of school, a lot of my technical knowledge is self taught. I have studied CompTIA A+, an introduction to Networking, and IT security
- I am self teaching myself in Python
- I am currently taking part in a Data Science bootcamp
- I have a lot of work experience, but Accenture will be my first job in Tech
I am pretty dedicated to my goal so I am always studying/learning more towards it 😂 But I want to ask you if it is realistic for someone like me to make it in a Data Science role within Accenture without a degree, and if not, what are the chances that I could secure a Degree Apprenticeship with Accenture? What do you think?

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I’m so glad my content was able to help you on your journey! 😻
I think you can definitely navigate into a data science related role within Accenture and it will be amazing leverage to use towards data science heavy roles too! The great thing about consulting is you can show your work ethic, get work experience, get the necessary training (and even paid for) and this may be enough to get into the data science field without a degree or prior background in it. It will be difficult but it is possible! With your bootcamp background, it can be greatly leveraged to land those first data science roles. You may be able to land the apprenticeship but if you already have the role, that job offer is better than the apprenticeship.

Hi Christine! Do you think it’s necessary for someone to come in to Accenture with a referral ? Love your content, I’m looking toward applying to TDP when the applications are posted .

Not necessary but definitely you get a headstart compared to without one. Without a referral though, going for entry level like the TDP would not matter.
