EFFECTIVE MEETING TIPS: My 1:1 Meeting Document Structure with my Manager
I did a video a few months ago on what I actually am working on this year personally and professionally, and one of them is actually implementing a new 1-on-1 structure meeting document structure with my manager! I'm not going to go into details as to what is discussed during my 1-on-1s, but I definitely talk about what we talk about during those sections, the reason behind it, and even some indirect benefits of having a structure like this when it comes to annual performance reviews and check-ins! I do consulting and client-facing work, so if you do client work, this would be a useful structure for you!

GOOGLE VLOG: Grace Hopper Celebration 2023 for the First Time! | AS AN INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL
I noted the flexible workstations. What does it take to get an office with a door? Is that only for people at a certain level or are they assigned to staff who need to reach out externally on a regular basis as part of their job?
It’s all decided by the individual neighborhoods! Though usually it’s the directors that get it due to the privacy of their work, but it’s agreed within the neighborhood. Everyone in this building pretty much reach out externally which is why the building is built to serve clients!
whats your opinion on oracle based technical consultant?. i mean i got a offer from a company who uses oracle fusion in their system so i am concerned whether oracle erp have demand in market or not and how can i build my career out of this
Use it as a stepping stone to learn the skills as a technical consultant! It’s pretty transferable and you don’t have to worry about locking your skills in Oracle. I try not to build a career out of a product to prevent yourself from being obsolete.
@@ChristineWong Thanks for your response. I want to ask another question regarding this. I love coding, and I do a bit of full stack development. I just graduated with my master's degree. Unfortunately, I didn't get any offers related to this domain, but I did received one for a technical consultant position based on ORACLE Fusion. I'm a bit scared that if I choose to go into this domain, I might not be able to switch to a domain related to web development or cloud computing, which is where my interest lies. However, I need a job right now, and I live in India, where the job scarcity is damn high. What is your opinion on this? Your insight would be greatly appreciated. I said the above because, switching domains is quite hard in my Country 😕
@@subhodeepbasak9092 I say any experience vs. none at all right out of your masters is really good, especially if it’s a technical consultant role. It will only add to your experience, never detract. I will also say that even when you are in the role, you can still look for other jobs that are more in line with what you’re looking for, so it’s not a death sentence! It’s all about how to tailor your experiences to the roles. My husband is a technical consultant yet he codes and does programming, so it only adds!

Is this role mostly a remote position or onsite?
It honestly depends on the company! I’ve seen remote, onsite or hybrid!
@@ChristineWong gotcha! So the remote positions in particular, have you seen them more in tech or consulting companies?
@Officialyasirbadawi for consulting companies, it depends on the clients. And for tech, I’ve seen the spectrum. You’ll have to look at both but you can guarantee knowing with tech before starting the job while consulting firms all differ in the agreement with clients. You would have a higher chance actually traveling to the client than to the office itself.
@@ChristineWong awesome! Last question: You mentioned you had some opportunities to work remotely in the past - did they allow you to travel offshore while working remotely or is that unacceptable ?
@@Officialyasirbadawi unacceptable. Mostly because of the data compliance and security issues that would imply when working with client data.

Is making CZcams videos considered moonlighting within multinational corporations? What's the typical reaction from your managers or HR when they uncover your involvement in video creation?
I’m not sure if it’s considered moonlighting, but before I actually created content, I spoke to Accenture’s marketing and legal teams after guidance from my manager and director and got their blessings and learned of the restrictions before starting! And for Google, I actually had it as one of my resume experiences and even used it during the interview too so everyone was fully aware while I was recruited.

Can you make the job description, your resume with highlighted entries and the final tailored resume available for download? It would be helpful to compare them all to get a better understanding of everything you said. It's easier than skipping back and forth in the video.
Those links should be available in the video description! I used a real job listing in the example, and this is an old video, so that listing will no longer be available.
I also didn’t use my own resume but an altered version of mine (hence calling it my cat’s resume) so it could be a little more generic and transferable to others. I’ve tailored others’ in coaching videos on my channel for real examples.

The houses can have holes in them or air stations nearby to allow people to load and unload in this unique transport.
Hello, how do you apply in your profile because they ask you for your pet?
Can you elaborate? Did you mean how to apply as a cat sitter if you already have a pet of your own? What services were you thinking of doing? I think that only really matters if you do boarding.
@@ChristineWong Well, but I have to make a profile because it asks me in training about my pet, not about me and not about where I went to make my profile.
@perlapadron8757 I’m not so sure if I understand you. I don’t remember getting those questions when applying. I would just answer the questions they ask you.
@perlapadron8757 this is likely part of the background check and your background with animals. Unless you accidentally signed up as a customer of Rover. It does ask you to register your pets with Rover even as a sitter. I have my three cats on my profile for that reason. It is possible to proceed without pets. If that’s the case, you should be able to skip creating pet profiles. If you do have pets and you plan on boarding, I do recommend still putting them on so your clients have full transparency of the pets in your home for boarding as well having your pets covered in the rover guarantee if anything happens between your clients and your pets.
@@ChristineWong I think I registered as a Rover client because you are asking me for information about my pets, but not about me. You can't tell me anything that will give me information to tell me how I do it there.
Bonjour, Je suis une enseignante québécoise (Canada) qui aimerait beaucoup visiter le Terminal St-John’s avec 6 étudiants du collège. Comment faire ? Merci
Hi, why the St John’s Terminal specifically? You can visit a Canadian office instead and you have to work with a local Googler to bring you in as a guest either socially or the Googler needs to plan educational programming. The office is very strict with loosely bringing guests in.
@melaniefournier9114 wish you best of luck! That seems like a very great retreat! I would say the recommendation is to reach out to recruiters and pitch it as a great idea to work with great talent. My only issue is that it may not be that ideal for recruiters to work with non-US prospects so the pitch may not hold well. But in an ideal way, it would be a win-win so it would also be in their best interest. I think if you reached out to Canadian companies with offices in NY or companies in NY that have strong ties to Canada, that can help! You can also work with school alumni that reside in New York and ask for their companies to help out!
Merci pour vos idées et conseils 😊
Good Job Christina.
Thank you!
I request everyone to share their experience in LinkedIn that why did you leave experience so that they will also get to know
Personally for me, I don’t think my LinkedIn platform is the place for me to do that but I feel more comfortable doing it on CZcams as it is a personal channel of mine vs. a professional profile seen by everyone including recruiters and colleagues. I still post the video on LinkedIn, though, at the time of release.
One pro is that you get to impress your friends living in doorman type building which you normally couldn't afford. And the internet is full of these video show offs.
Haha indeed. I don’t think it’s something worth bragging but knowing that my building is secured and all my packages are protected is also a luxury we should all have so who is really winning 😅 Stolen packages is a real thing though.
@@ChristineWong Packages stolen in those types of building you speak of is by the same people. Congrats on your new place and don't forget to tip your doorman.
@@flowersandcandyflowersandc9093 thank you! And yes, we budget for that at the end of the year along with the rest of our building staff!
To be Honest, it's because of poor micro management in Accenture and moreover the senior management and leadership is doing nothing and moreover the Accenture is full of Bribe givers and take job . Even if they don't have experience in PMO then also they are getting opportunity I don't know how do they match the talent
Haha a poor consulting experience always comes from poorly scoped work and promising unreasonable deadlines, but I do think this is the case at many consulting firms and not just Accenture though. I’ve worked with some delivery-focused consultants turned PMOs and they did very well because they actually understand the work!
@@ChristineWong Because one my if friend is working in Accenture and was saying that it’s because of nobody wanted to speak up when gets retaliation. Some of the projects they seemed like hiring based on favouritism irrespective of their skills and this is hilarious 😂
@@teamvalor6561 unfortunately it is the reality for many 😿
You're really blessed to have an office space worth going to in NYC.
I know! I really am!
Hi Christine! Thanks for the video! I just got my bachelor degree in Computer science and i have pretty good experience in programming (mainly with Java), should i consider going into the technical consulting field even if i have no experience in other programming languages (in my case ABAP for SAP) or should i try functional consulting first and later switch out?
You honestly can start out in an entry level program for either! Most roles out there will not touch Java, it’s mostly on your critical thinking on understanding it and being able to apply that skill to any.
Do you sell any worksheets that maybe lists out Rover specific “common misconceptions that are helpful to address at the meetup” for x,y,z service (that is individualized for cat sitting, dog walking, car boarding..ect) ?? Or example “shpeals” you mention in this video that you have used when folks reach out for the first time or you meet for the first time? Thank you for these videos, they are greatly appreciated & very informative!! 🤗
I’ve thought about building a questionnaire myself, but worried I might overwhelm the client. 🫢 Any tips on how to structure it & length to stay within?? Is there an app you have loved the most in organizing your notes?
I don’t sell any worksheets, but I only do cat sitting and cat boarding, so my reach will be pretty limited. My spiels are very unique to our situation (such as how does it work with our cats, separate room, don’t need to bring anything but food, etc.) I can do a video to talk about how I do all of that, but I don’t want it to be a template by any means because every animal, owner, and even environment will be different and calls for your own sense of judgment with what’s comfortable for you. What may be natural or comfortable for me may not be for you!
I also only use the iPhone notes app haha. It’s very easy to use and a fail-safe if we don’t have reliable internet service.
Hey everyone! Going to be taking a 3-week hiatus while I’m away on honeymoon! This will be the last video before I’m back, but since I’ll be across to the other side of the world and potentially even sleeping during my typical upload day and time, going to take a break. Instead, you should definitely follow me over on Instagram where I’ll take you along to our adventures in Japan and Singapore for the next 3 weeks through Instagram stories!!! My longest trip since my one month trip to China as a higher schooler! instagram.com/christine.innovates
