  • As promised, here is my first impressions video of the Race Dynamics Powertronic on my Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Shot on my new Gopro Hero 7 Black which should be my primary camera going forward, but still got some issues to iron out, the angle for example.

    I'm new to your channel and I instantly subscribed to it after watching the level of detail in terms of the overall content and quality of information shared.
    I had been really looking for a video as exhaustive as this one which would talk about the influence of a powertronic ECU on the performance of Continental GT 650 as per the Indian Climatic conditions and the scope of real world usability post installation.
    I wish you more success and great health to you and to your family!
    Looking forward to seeing more of such detailed reviews bro!

    The improvements you mention resulting from the PowerTronic piggy-back ECU are the same
    that I have heard from myriad vloggers who installed the *Booster Plug* - which costs roughly
    half the price and takes half the labor to install. Those results include quicker throttle response,
    especially at low rpm, and reduction in exhaust popping on deceleration when using after-market
    exhaust silencers. A comparison video of the two devices would be of great value to viewers!

      @Volatile42  Před 4 lety +5

      True, the Booster Plug achieves similar results by manipulating the intake air temperature value. I too wasn't sure of which one to go for. With the Powertronic though, you ha e full control over the air-fuel ratio and the ignition timing, so it gives you a much wider range of tunability. Although, unless you're making some crazy mods to your engine, you wouldn't really need to tune further and the provided maps would work pretty well. It would be interesting to see an actual performance comparison. I don't have access to a Booster Plug though to do this comparison.

    13:19 - Probably you haven't tuned it correctly. From what I've seen and read on the internet, the powerTRONIC V4 gives you a really good boost, you just need to have the right map too
    Indian Royal Enfield enthusiastic Abhinav Bhatt is a big fan of PowerTRONIC Piggyback ECU. On his CZcams channel, he has a video reaching 190km/h (czcams.com/video/Zujcl1vVHKs/video.html) using a stock engine with some extras: PowerTRONIC V4 (+ PowerTRONIC Quickshifter); SS Moto 2x1 Full System Exhaust (or any free flow exhaust); DNA Air Filter (with a Stage 2 Plate Kit) & 14T Front Sprocket.

    I just received my unit in the mail, along with the quickshifter. I already have a booster plug installed, are these compatible or must I replace the booster plug? Anything to gain from having both?

    • @Volatile42
      @Volatile42  Před 3 lety +1

      Hard to say. You can install the Powertronic fine but may have to see if the the 2 together are overdoing things. But Powertronic maps are editable. Worst case, you may need to go to a tuner to adjust the values in the Powertronic map.

    Bro id u go beyond 100kmph and release hands will the handle bar wobble..??? Is it a issue r common thing...

    • @Volatile42
      @Volatile42  Před 3 lety +1

      Lately I have noticed it happen. I think it starts after the tires have worn to a certain extent. It's common but not an issue really because you don't notice anything if you have even one hand on the handlebars. Some people have solved by switching to a different tire and I think some Triumph users have complained about it too, so seems to be related to the tread pattern on the Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp tires.

    Did it increase the top speed?

    • @diaryofawanderingboot4058
      @diaryofawanderingboot4058 Před 11 měsíci

      It unless happen as top speed is limited physically by the gear ratio in the gear box and sprockets outside and via software the rev limiter .

    6:55 Don't die, yikes! :D 1080P 60 FPS looks great here, camera did a fine job.
    Powertronic seems to be a good gadget. Always nice to have tuning capability. Just be mindful of how spark advance, intake air temp, engine operating temp and fuel quality are inter-related. Detonation is a real risk in hot temps if there's too much spark advance dialed in.
    The bike seems to be running really well, those full power runs looked fun! :)
    We are in "partial" lock down here too, though the wide spread protests (which are necessary to force some much needed changes here) have not helped on the CV-19 containment issue.
    I've not installed K&N on my Bonnie yet. I have received 1" pull back bar risers and a Union Jack radiator guard from Motone, I just need to find some time to install them. Pity exhaust pipe mods are not allowed there. We can replace slip on cans, but we're not allowed to remove the catalytic converters, though I have seen a very few bikes that have had them removed, but it's a big $ fine if you're caught.
    Good video, thanks for taking the time to create it. Cheers!

      @@Volatile42 Okay, actually I've come across many guys who fake this type of accent which makes me wonder that why the hell they need to do that when language is just for communicating ideas and accent depends on genetics as well as the region where you've spent at least a greater part of your childhood. Just my views.. Thanks :)

    • @Volatile42
      @Volatile42  Před 3 lety +2

      I understand, no worries. I did grow up in different parts of India but I guess I was a bit of a loner and didn't interact enough to pick up the local accents. A lot of it happened when I was outside India. That said, I can speak pretty much like anyone in any part of India too. Just that it doesn't feel natural to me. I guess I'm somewhere in between everything. :)

    • @Volatile42
      @Volatile42  Před 4 lety +2

      You probably won't be able to see a noticeable difference on video. You have to feel it in terms of the throttle input you give it and how the bike reacts to it.
