Wow! Impressive 1294 days .. if you don't mi dme asking , have you seen significant mental/ physical changes ? I'm on about day 120 (not every day but double up practices when I miss one) I'm defo starting to feel I a more measured approach to lifes challenges

Day 140 of the current run. Right leg was tight as heck this morning, made this more of a workout than expected.
Apparently, I have never visited this foundation pose. I have to admit it was a difficult but doable six minutes for me. Not easy holding the pose.
Expand day 18. 1017 days.
Likewise, a new one for me too, complete with a Blue cameo!
whew that was harder than i thought it would be! my right leg could not hold that pose, it was almost painful, my left leg could but was shakey the entire time! i do these videos after a 10 min core workout so these practices have been a bit more difficult than before 😅 it’s amazing though how different i feel mentally when i practice every day vs when i’m on a hiatus due to travel. i feel so confident and capable and strong both mentally and physically. yes there are parts of me that i would love to be skinnier, these practices have helped me embrace my own skin and in turn changed how i see myself in the mirror. love being here even though i kind of dread having to exercise 😅 but the aftermath is the most beautiful feeling.
I've started to do yoga everyday couple of months ago, so I'm following your videos from the oldest to the newest, they are awesome, thank you!

Yoga is wonderful because it can bring awareness to every nook and cranny- all aspects of life that connect back to how we feel on a daily basis and how that transmutes and shows up in the body. It does make sense. Start by taking a look at your feet- your base. Make sure you are not standing on a tight rope- but rather give yourself a nice wide base for stability. Then draw energy up from your strong base. Engage the legs but hugging the inner thighs together and lifting up through your pelvic floor- whatever that means for you. Draw your naval in and feel the body become alive with integrity. Don't even worry about the arms. Keep them on your hips for now while we wake up the body!

Awesome. You are so kind. I think all the stretching is starting to pay off. My hamstrings are finally getting more flexible. I started holding the stretches longer.
So this was an intense 6-minute workout. Whew. Mine's more a Sweating-and-Teetering Lunge, but I'll find some ease eventually. Be a fun one to practice every day.

until i started with Adriene I only had yoga style in my stretching routines and Power Yoga workouts occasionally, after my HIIT training sessions; the yoga poses are familiar to me, BUT I have never (because it was yoga poses incorporated into these routines and NOT YOGA itself) suspected yoga to be such a great strength-building stuff, my muscles are shaking, this is like a beautiful slow-motion style workout, and of course Adriene's instructions as to the proper posture - I always look for those when I chose a teacher be it yoga (hence Adriene) or workout regime

Hi Adirene, i was wondering how you find your balance in this pose? I always feel like im either sinking downwards or over compensating by being too straight with my legs. I hope that makes sense...

I am wondering your wisdom on whether it is best to engage the glutes of the extended leg?
I have heard both to engage them, and also to let them relax.
I have such knee pain in the extended leg (in the center of the knee beneath the kneecap, but also pain that radiates down the lateral side of that leg INTO the knee), I am wondering what actions to focus on to lessen (and hopefully extinguish eventually) the pain. I am aware of needing to focus on posteriorly rotating my pelvis, and then drawing towards the midline as you instruct in the video, but I am curious your opinion on to engage or relax the glutes.

God that was so painful the front of my thighs and my feet won't stop cramping! I have the strength of a blobfish!
I'm very rounded in my runners lunge. It did feel good on my front hip to put my knee down. High lunge is a serious challenge. I did it but then put my knee down.
Hey Adriene, I have Hypothyroid and because of that I am gaining weight which is hard to shake off. I tried sweating in the gym, not eating, eating healthy and with my medication nothing helps. Will yoga benefit me?
