Tom morello just played this on Sirius and gave this history before and I was driving home in traffic and heard a piece of it on lithium and saw tool/rage against the machine and I’m like weird ? and tuned in mid song and had to click the rewind thing on my car and listened and now I’m obsessed

The chorus is the chorus to The Prophets of Rage song The Party's Over and the breakdown part that starts at around 5:45 is the main riff to New Millennium Homes off of Rage Against The Machine's The Battle of Los Angeles. Fun fact this song was supposed to have been on the movie Judgement Night's soundtrack but for some reason Rage and Tool couldn't agree on the direction of the music so it became sort of a hidden secret until it got leaked on CZcams.

How have I never heard this???
I've been a huge Tool fan since discovering them in 1999 as a 16 year old. My first legitimate concert was to see Tool, on the Lateralus tour. I was an avid Napster/Limewire user back in the day. I had ALL the rare obscure Tool stuff. I also love RATM. And yet.....I'd never even HEARD of of this? I'm listening to the Bandsplain episode on the Judgement Night soundtrack and paused it to search this song out.
It's so weird when you miss something that you _should_ have stumbled across. I mean, I downloaded the live version of Stinkfist where they interpolate Elvis' White Lines in the bridge. I had Lateralus tour shows where Adam first played what would become the intro to 10,000 Days, the song. I'd heard the alternate bridges for Jurk Oph and Prison Secks (writing Tool songs is just tempting the YT censors...so annoying). I even recall some bootleg of Tool covering Bowie's Ashes to Ashes. And yet....I'd somehow missed this. So weird.

    Very solid of a remaster.
And no wonder they would use the riff for New Millenium Homes years later

never heard this and i've seen it around p2p for years! always been a fan of take the power back due to maynard's little verse. this is again an interesting meeting of the minds. shame it didn't get on the judgment night OST, but that album alone is jam packed with killer collabs already.

Rage against the machine had a small time thing with Tool at one point that did a song called Revolution, which this song sounds familiar like it was part of those
