I have another MP game as TNN in Dom5 I posted, but this is my first in Dom6.
Not to be "that guy", but Ys is pronounced more like "Ees". That's because it's based on Breton folklore, and the Bretons are actually old-school British Celts who migrated to Northwestern France during the Dark Ages, before the Anglo-Saxons stole their land and pushed them into Wales. That's also why the nation has access to the land-recruit units very similar to Marverni, which presumably represent the Bretons.
I will keep mispronouncing them just to piss off the anglo/celto larpers

Ys and anime go together like bread and cancer :) Now with less thunderbolts and more hallucinatory magic.
10:43 when i see ES mage i immediately think "communion matrices". So whatever other magic you happen to come across, from glamour on morgen to d1 indies to priests you can plug it into the communion and cast those big battlefield spells at the cost of blowing up a few druids.
The druids are like the Tien Chi geomancer, just an all around excellent little mage who can facilitate all kinds of things. Easy access to an astral 1 mage is already great, but an easy 1e1s mage is blessed. E+S is already the best combo in the game imo

Heroism might have been good for the sacreds and mages they get experience start anyway but with more....
Maybe, I’ve not really tested all the new blesses out but coming from Dom5 unit xp was pretty pointless so I have a habit of ignoring it.
Blur/displacement are both quite good imo and true sight is a good counter play to many things. The glamour version of fear as well could be good since it’s cheaper than actual fear.

I'm new to the franchise (started with Dom 6) and wonder if exp whas really so bad before, because now with 2/3 bless point it's really easy to get really fast to the Str and HP bonus for strong sacred (typically knights), and it also means that if you're the only one with it, you can very easily dominate the hall of fame, so it seems pretty strong to me, and in all the games I played (MA Ulm, MA Marignon, MA Abyssia+MA Ur, LA Marignon + LA Ulm) I ended up using it.
Also, it's so cheap, you can get x2 exp for the same price as 1 attack, and most strong sacred will get their first lvl of xp fast enough with it that they will be a lvl higher than if you didn't take it, so it seems way more worth, at least for the first lvl (it does fall of after 3/4 heroism).
It saves the password everytime you fire it up for one session, until you close the game it seems. So if you have logged in again, you should be fine

I had a dumb thought but could Swanmasters be used underwater to herd Krakens and sea serpents to give a mid game edge?
If you could somehow give them waterbreathing, they do have beast-master and animal awe, probably they are only useful for low-morale animals like the swans or boars/wolves

Ys is based on Breton folklore of a sunken city, and one of those legends claims that Paris comes from "Par-Ys", or "beside Ys". Obviously that's silly, but it's a fun story.
