    This a good technique. I did some pomegranate starters like this in 2020 a while after seeing this video and I've managed to get them funky and twisted - especially low at the base, right out of the soil - and have no scars. Thanks for the inspiration. Let's get this Bonsai.

    Great idea, man. Especially, if as you say, the buds can pop through the tape. Seems like its also easier to remove compared to the traditional method.

    Hello from Port Angeles! Just recently found your channel and have subscribed. I love seeing other people in my area on here. I haven't had a chance yet to scour your video catalogue, do you do many native PNW species?

      @jbvincent47 Před 4 lety

      @@BenBSeattle Lol, I'm still an extreme beginner and have managed to kill many trees so far. Luckily with my job I have access to tons of smaller native trees (mostly seedling size) that my clients don't want, so I have plenty to practice on.

    Should I remove the bottom leaves before I wrap the branch to the wire?

    • @BenBSeattle

      I would leave them on and wrap around it low branches are very useful later on bonsai
