- Our caravan renovation journey begins! After deciding that we wanted to renovate a vintage caravan, it wasn't long before we found a 1967 Rambler caravan for sale online and decided that it was the caravan for us. Once we got our new tiny home on wheels, it was time to get cracking on the renovations, starting with completely stripping the inside. Enjoy our first instalment and make sure you guy's hit that SUBSCRIBE button and stay up to date.
great job mate.
Those old vans are the bee knees. Got an old Viscount and love taking her out.
Know that feeling to well when you take on a big project, lots of head scratching when I did mine too. Looking forward to more updates!
Paul Hicks Thanks, hoping to get stuck into it again soon and upload more vlogs 👍🏽
Me and my partner just got ourselves an old 1994 caravan and started ripping it it yesterday, also had some damp and ceiling issue but will fix it up
It’s very fun and rewarding
Can’t wait to completely rebuild and do up the caravan then move into it to travel and live ✨🌎🪄👏😌
That sounds great! We are looking forward to that day aswell 😆
Awesome work guys. I have a 1984 jayco I'm getting stuck into rebuilding atm
Hey mate. Love this video. You have massive task ahead of you. I'll be following along your journey. We have just bought a 1969 viscount that we will be renovating. Hopefully I'll learn a thing or two from your channel.
One Life, One Search,
Shane
So good! I want to see how it goes
lovetolove Hopefully some more vlogs soon 🤞🏽 It’s a bit slow going at the moment
Guys whatever you do, don't touch or remove any of the flooring as all old vans have asbestos present under the lino. Just cover it with vinyl flooring. Watch the weight of all your new cabinets and cupboards. You need to use the lightest of timbers - just like your old cupboards you removed. Best wishes and don't give up.
Is it safe to sleep in then?
You sound just like me with my project
good work mate, I know the overwhelming feeling having just started on a 24ft complete strip out and rebuild, alloy frame but still just as deep in, just got done grinding and rust treating the entire frame and giving it a paint, now onto the roof and getting that all sealed up ( of which some prior owner has made a mess of with seam sealer or something similar everywhere which is hard and cracked and a nightmare to remove ) Look forward to seeing this come along...
Chevelios Essay Oh yea that sounds very familiar haha cheers mate!
Yes im doing the same to an old viscount, so glad it's got an alloy frame as the rotted timber looks like a nightmare. Still a huge job though and so dusty my one.
Looks like a lot of hard work heading ur way.
Give u something to do in Lockdown eh. Good luck 😷👍
Lynne Scaddan Yep absolutely 😆
Hey Mate! Loving the content! I was wondering about the length of the caravan!
Dominic Vu Thank you! The caravan is 21ft or roughly 6 metres
what's it like to tow, and how much does it weigh? : )
Hey mate just wondering how u secured the timber frame to the van itself
Originally there were some small bolts securing the frame to the steel floor frame but I had to replace some of those timbers and just screwed some tech screws in the frame instead.
Mate how do you faten the small timber frame together. Staple, nail, screw.??
I used screws.
What sort of timber?
I'm glad I watched this I'm almost ready to start put my trailer back together. Please check out my rebuild on my channel.
Yarbrough Projects Thank you! I will have a look 😊 Our project is very slow going at the moment, but hopefully another vlog soon 😆
@@DylanGaston yeah this is the first time for me to tackle a project like this and I thought it would go faster than it is
