  • We love Martin's Dreadnought Junior, but how does it compare to the new 000 Junior model??? Today we compare the 000JR-10 vs DJR-10. Can you hear a difference? Which would you choose?

    COME ON GUYS. Even Martin's website doesn't give body dimensions. How about all the questions anyone searching out this video was hoping would be answered. How do the body sizes/thickness/shape compare? for comfort? for New / small or youth players? How do the sounds compare? Highs, Lows, Mids?

    Interesting to see how each guitar sits differently on the lap... go to 5:30 & put your finger on your screen over the soundhole & see how when even with his knee/leg in the same position, the Dread Jr's shallower waist shifts the guitar outward, and away from the mic. 000 is more focused.

    The big problem here is the fact these guys should have come up with opinions before they shot the video. In all the videos they do, they try to sort out their thoughts when the camera starts to roll, and they wind up bemused and virtually opinionless. If they would only take a few minutes beforehand and gather their thoughts, they could come up with some cogent reviews. Please, no more waffling.

      @@JesseDylanMusic I play exclusively fingerstyle on my DJr and it's fantastic. Not sure why folks keep saying 000 for strumming and D for fingerpicking. I love the punchy base notes in my fingerpicking that come from the D shape.

    • @JesseDylanMusic
      @JesseDylanMusic Před rokem +1

      @@anneberkeley7411 You can definitely fingerpick a dread. My D-18 sounds great that way. You need a heavier attack to fingerpick a dread, but in the case of these Jrs., it's not the same deal. I think in general, people like the more even response of certain guitars for fingerstyle. Dreadnoughts are not known for an even response, and a D. Jr. is trying to emulate that (if it can--but since it's such a smaller body volume, it's not necessarily going to sound like a dread anyway). I think the tighter waist helps with the way some people fingerpick. Many fingerpicking guitars would be a little "light" for how I play.
