In their first interview together since announcing their split, the pair open up with Access Hollywood's Lauren Herbert about the reason for the breakup and if they can make amends. Plus, their co-star Kristen Doute reveals if she was hesitant to come back to reality tv and teases their new show “The Valley,” which debuts on Bravo on March 19.

Brittany is Miss forever cheerful. Jax wears his emotions on his sleeve. My guess is they had another argument before this interview & he is still pissed. But he warms up & carries on just fine.

Is he big mad? The beginning seems like he’s a dude who thought this separation is NBD, but now is having to face that Brittany is serious and has no idea WTH to do. Seems lost to me, BUT, I’m a more recent viewer, I don’t have his prior VPR behavior to pull from.

Their entire life is made up. They want to be famous they will go through anything. Everybody knows that Jax is a piece of shit and Brittany has to have some reason for putting up with it and it's not because she loves him there's just no Casting Couch anymore

Brittany was very naive and always forgave him so he figured she'd be a decent one to deal with. I know so many men like him irl. They want a family for status it affords them and because it's the socially acceptable thing to do at their age - but they're not emotionally connected to their wives nor do they respect them.

It’s funny how Jax was saying to Sandavol in the latest episode of VPR that he has a family now and is the happiest he’s ever been compared to Tom who is him 7 years ago and yet in reality, Jax is probably gonna get divorced soon and is still on a reality show so not too much has changed 🤷🏻♀️

I know people want to see Brittany leave but I want to see them work it out. They have a child and Brittany knew exactly who Jax was a long time ago. Why are people so quick to cheer on the ending of marriages? He doesn’t look “big mad” he looks like a husband who’s wife left and is saying she hasn’t been happy on national tv.

Yes, the context of the show is more relatable and current to them and where their prior audience may be now themselves. Very cool there is a show navigating being adults, parents and being in long term relationships at the same time, these life milestones are huge and raw, I’m in it now myself 😅

Honestly I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I do believe Jax is actually taking some accountability and owning it was him with his depression and taking it out on everybody. Old Jax would not have done that. He also didn’t blame Brittany when before on Vanderpump even after he cheated he would put the blame on her.

One thing is for certain, although separation can be helpful, in order to set priorities, too long of one could seal the deal of no return. And are you both prepared for that.
I had separated for about 2 months, and it was really about the time I was starting to say to myself, I guess I’m going to be single, and was okay with it, but then my husband showed up unexpectedly, and we rekindled our relationship, that was 45 years ago. Still married.
No marriage is going to be perfect, but every marriage requires give and take, a lot of forgiveness and grace, and throw out the ego.
not everyone wants to drudge through a terrible abusive union. if you look back at old VPR episodes, Jax was never a good choice for anyone much less a family oriented woman. be careful what you suggest bc what worked 30 years ago doesn't translate to modern society.

@Brittany if Jax won't go to counseling go alone. When my husband and I have had issues, I have sought counseling, and my psychologist has been able to help me make changes to improve my marriage. I am the only one I can control. This year, we will celibrate 31 years together.
Jack would be so hard to live with I’m sure he is a great dad but Brittany knew from the start what she was getting and she still married him I think her weight gain and still battling with her weight is part of there problem but not the whole thing he has a lot of issues
