    I don't even play VRChat but this is a great tutorial. I'm having fun just learning how to work blender.

    I guess I already knew more than I thought I did from 4 years of practice. I still managed to pick up a few tricks though that I could use to speed up my process a bit.

    Thank you for this. My friend was wanting her own world for VRChat, and I know my way around Blender, so i decided to try it. This has been very helpful.

    your tutorials have been super helpful! One thing though- Chair sitboxes (click to sit, for people who don't have GGL)? There's surprisingly only a few videos and I cannot for the life of me get it to work.

    Excellent vid! I am having issues with bakes. I am new to baking my textures in Blender. Does it usually take a long time to bake a texture? It is taking at least 10-15 mins per texture. This adds up to a very long time if doing a whole model

    Thank you! that pretty much just answered all my questions. I'm wondering though, does making making the seam's in Blender effect the way objects are lit in Unity? Or is that just a good step to take to better apply materials?

    • @spookyghostboo
      @spookyghostboo  Před 9 měsíci +1

      it depends. the way you uv for materials is kind of the same process unity does automatically to unwrap meshes for lighting. By default, your seams on the first UV layer does not affect lighting. You can generate lightmap uvs in unity when you import your mesh (which means it unwraps and calculates your seams for you just for lights). BUT you could create a second UV layer and unwrap in blender manually. by default, if you don't select "generate lightmap uvs" in unity, it will use your second UV layer from blender for lightmaps.

      @@spookyghostboo interesting! Im checking out different videos on uv unwrapping but I think I just need to get in there and start making mistakes and fixing, thanks for explaining, have an awesome day 🙏

    Do you still want to use RGB(A) compressed astc hdr 4x4 block for the format when you're making the world for quest?

    • @spookyghostboo
      @spookyghostboo  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I don't recommend the HDR one. But the other astc 4x4 is good i think. sometimes Ill do 6x6 or higher to compress further. just keep an eye on the textures youre compressing. astc is good for android build but the more you compress the worse it can look so test several compression settings until you get a good result you like.

      @@spookyghostboo thanks a ton! I really do appreciate the advice even now. Your world building tutorials helped me just release my first one. Did a bunch of blender projects first and then was like guess it's time to try to make a VR world. Didnt know unity/udon so that was a trip. But yeah just asked because when I tried to make the map for quest, it had a recommendation that I use the NEWER astc HDR. Can't remember exactly but I didn't follow through with that. But with your advice now I'll fiddle with a few more settings.
      Seriously though. If you pay attention. Your videos are fucking great material to learn off of. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put out videos like this.

      @@Arcin321 thanks! I'm glad they are helpful. I never use hdr just cause it seems to make my textures look weird and bright. so i never use it.

      @@spookyghostboo Hello, that's what i'm saying, using the package manager it's not available for me, and I can't even find post processing from Unity technologies themselves in the asset store, I've also tried downloading your mirror prefab, through two different browsers and nothing happens when I click download :/

      @@aerekchinchilla3250 Try this link for the mirror prefab: drive.google.com/file/d/19plXxLItOaqUpXQ9wn5k89qFfbVHxCaz/view?usp=sharing
      In the package manager under Unity Registry, I find Post processing. But for me it says "installed as dependency". Maybe you have to import it from some where. I found this: docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.postprocessing@3.2/manual/Installation.html
      Under installation, there is a github link you could probably use to link it to package manager.

    Hey for some reason every time I try to import the furniture set that you linked it comes out pink is there a reason for that? When you imported it, it had textures, so why is it that when I try, it does not have the textures.
