Wishing a Happy Easter to all my subscribers! Here is a video compilation of me Railfanning the Whippany Railway Museum Easter Bunny Express and Touring the Museum (featuring the Boiler and Cab of US Army 4039)! On March 30, I trekked to Whippany to railfan the Whippany Railway Museum Easter Bunny Express. Morristown and Erie 20, a SW-1500, and the newly acquired Morristown and Erie 25, a GP15-1, were in charge of the train. However, it looks like M&E 25 suffered a mechanical problem of sorts, because M&E 20 was pushing and pulling the train while being the only one to use its horn and bell. I managed to catch the 2:00 train at Troy Hills Road, and the 3:00 and 4:00 trains at the museum. In between the trains, I toured the museum yard. It was great to see the progress of CNJ Coach 1001 and once again see Southern Railway 385 in the Virginian green paint scheme with Morris County Central letters on the tender. However, one surprise that I wasn't expecting was seeing the boiler ad cab of US Army Locomotive 4039. This is my very first time seeing 4039's original boiler and cab in person. A portion of 4039's cab appears to have been repainted in its original black scheme. The rest of 4039 is still under a tarp with the words "Under Restoration" as seen in this video. It is worth noting that US Army 4039 is getting a brand new boiler according to a Facebook post made by the museum. Overall, it was a fun day in Whippany!
