- A photo of irises growing along Lake Erie's shoreline inspired Jane's latest tutorial. Follow along as she explains how she sketches out her canvas; what paint colors she uses to get her desired results; how she creates shadows and light; and how she paints irises. It is done in her easy, loose and fun approach to painting. At her website, www.JaneSlivkaGallery.com, click on "shop" which will bring you to info on the brushes, palette, and paint colors she likes to use. You can also purchase one hour classes for only $25 that show the complete painting process from start to finish
Magnificent ... you are the biggest Artist in the World ....
Why thank you!
one of your best ❤❤❤
I am glad you like it Thanks!
I know everybody watches on different devices. On my tablet,I can zoom in when and where I warmth to. I would love the camera to stay zoomed ou5, and I can zoom in when I warmth to. For some reason, the movement makes me dizzy. And the reason I don't like the zooming artistically is because I like to see the whole canvas...... what YOU are seeing as you paint.... if that makes sense.....😊😊❤
Thank you so much for your feedback.
I like the way the camera shots zoom in and show the brush strokes and the amount of paint you use. Another stunning artwork jane, brilliant.
Well done again both of you❤😊
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Hi Jane, Why don’t you paint your sky, water and sand before the flowers? Just curious. Thank you for your time.
@@lorrainezazula9518 Because I like to do negatieve painting, i.e., painting around objects/subjects. You may want to check out my video, "Painting Negative can be a Positive Thing," where I go into more explanation. Thanks!
Love the energy & joy you have ! You are truly inspiring!!
Thank you so much!!
Love watching u paint. One day I’d love to see you do the final detail work. I’ve tried painting like you but I think I get too “detailed” after initial loose painting is dry. I’ve taken at least 4 of your classes.
You can do it, and thank you for watching and commenting.
So much vitality! Along my pond in Cape Coral, I have whitish yellow irises that bloom generally from March to the end of summer. They are called African irises and are often times called the butterfly iris. I never thought of painting them with a background of our lovely water. Thank you once again for the inspiration and the joy.
You are so welcome!
I love love your style and the way you e press yourself and teach. Thank you!
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you for watching and commenting.

merci Jane, j'adore....
Merci beaucoup!
Pretty! We have lots of irises here on Lake Ontario. I wouldn't have thought to do them with a shoreline in the background! Love your work! Thank you Jane and Jane
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Love your way of painting so freely! Awesome painting!
Thank you very much!
I enjoy watching and learning to be loose. Thank you
You are most welcome. Enjoy and have fun.
Hi Jane: this composition would look fabulous on a vertical rectangular canvas. Maybe 26 x 18. Tall and regal
Great suggestion.
It's amazing how it comes together. Always enjoy your tutorials. ❤
I'm so glad, and thank you for watching!
Great video. Thank you ❤
You are so welcome! Glad that you enjoyed it.
so pretty and elegant, I really anticipate your demos so much, thx
Glad you like them! Thank you for commenting.
Really loved this one too! I do these paintings in a multi medium book. Trying to loosen up my painting strokes. Thanks again Jane and Jane!
You are most welcome!
Lovely ! Thank you 🙏🏽
You’re welcome!
Очень красиво, Джейн, твои картины завораживают, мне очень нравится также твоя техника написания картин, спасибо!
Спасибо большое за Ваш комментарий.
Love your paintings please do more florals 🤗
Thank you! Will do!
I'm so glad I came across your video's. Thanks for making them... they're so helpful. * Also, may I ask what brand of paint do you use?
Glad you like them, and thanks for watching! I like to use Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic paints.
We always need to see the whole picture, please. CZcams allows to zoom in, if necessary.
Thank you for your input. We will try that for our next taping.
Another great painting lesson Jane! If you were to make purple or red flowers, would you add white first over the hookers green sketch? Or would you sketch with hookers green and put purple or red right over it?
Yes. I would be establishing value before color. White first.
I am getting smart now! Making a list of your colors so I can start collecting them
That is great! Visit my website, JaneSlivkaGallery.com, and click on "shop." I have a basic list of my paint colors that I like to use. Have fun collecting them and then painting with them.
Draga Jane.
Sending you my love and light. ❤
Hvala vam puno na povratnim informacijama. Cijenim to!
U make art look easy... the fast way U apply is something that can only come with practice. How long have U been painting?
Do U do art events in Central Florida? Ann, Florida fan
Thank you so much! You can visit my website, JaneSlivkaGallery.com, where I have listed Florida arts festivals where I will be showing and Florida based workshops where I will be teaching.
Random question: would you recommend using “shadow colour” for the shadows in clouds? I imagine it would look fine but I wanted to know what you do. Also amazing painting!
Thank you! The shadow colors can also work with the clouds.
Wow!!! Are you offering classes anywhere ? I don't see a join button and are you using acrylic ? Thank you so much.
I have some upcoming workshps scheduled in Florida. This link will take you to the workshop page at my website: janeslivkagallery.com/workshops. You can also check out the "shop" page at my website where we offer full online classes that you purchase for $25, and it is downloaded to your email.
What are the colours you start with for your background??
I paint the canvas a cadmium red light or cadmium orange and let it totally dry before I start sketching out my painting.
What brand/type acrylic paint do you use?
I like to use Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic paints.
Thank you🥰
You are welcome, and thank you for watching.
Please let’s have less of the close ups and fancy camera work. We really need to see the whole picture. Love your work.
Thank you for your feedback. Appreciated!
I agree!! No need to keep zooming in and out and moving the camera all over the place. It's so hard to watch. 😢
what is the name of the mark of your tube colors please
I like to use Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylic paints.
dibujas como escribes música. Miro con mucho gusto como bailas sobre el lienzo con tu pincel.
Muchas gracias por tus comentarios. ¡Te lo agradezco!
