@@lewisblockley9546Most people think that Auld Lang Syne was written by Robert Burns, but he actually collected the words from a folk song that was around for a lot longer and sung to various melodies. The poem by Robert Burns is written in a mix of Scots and English, but 'auld' originated from the Irish word 'ald'. The Scots language is closer to English than Scottish Gaelic and for many years there's been an ongoing debate as to whether it's a separate language or a dialect. Scottish Gaelic is also related to Irish and Welsh, with it's origins being traced back as far as the 10th Century and it is believed to have been brought to Scotland by way of Ireland. 'Gaelic' refers to the Scottish Gaelic language, while 'Irish' is the preferred name for the Celtic language of Ireland, both with origins from Old Goidelic, which originates from Ireland and old Irish Celtic, along with other languages like Welsh and Manx. So, as confusing as it is, Auld Lang Syne isn't really Scottish per se, but Scottish, Irish and English. Its also recognised and acknowledged internationally, particularly with its relationship with WWI. Basically, Irish tap dancers (stepdancing or clogging, also with complex origins including Scottish stepdancing, Highland dance and influences from the French, etc) would not be 'having a go at a traditional Scottish song'.

Yeah apparently the Japanese made the song auld lang syne. What utter bs
@TheStoicBrowser Nope they didn't. Westernization brought it to Japan it seems.

It’s a beautiful moment when everyone goes silent to listen to a universal and wonderful tune. What a charming instrument!
Except for that one person trying to sing along 😅
It wasn't just random?
@@kriskd4495nah it’s an actual song but I couldn’t tell u wtf it is, just sounds familiar 💀
Humans are so cute. This is LITERALLY so goddamn adorable. People hear a song and gather around quietly and then cheer when it’s over before dispersing. No announcement no nothing. Just a nice moment in the day.
@@zachsmcl I love your comment 😊
This Tune Transcends....Robert Burns' poem Aulde Lang Syne was written in the spirit of friendship Remembrance and parting.

Imagine the professional Irish tap-dancers having a go at this
Having a go at a traditional Scottish song?
@@lewisblockley9546 using the instrument you clown
I think they just meant they'd be able to stomp quickly and do a lot of fast notes. Not specifically this song @@lewisblockley9546
@@lewisblockley9546think they meant like tap dancing on the instrument😊
In Japan🇯🇵, this music is used to announce that a store is closing.
