Marilyn Monroe originally had reddish brown hair and also looked stunning as a platinum blonde. Very interesting to see a color analysis for her. :)

Initially, I wasn't sure how I felt about YCS. I felt like I was pretty close to figuring out "my season" when I found your videos, and thought I'd use them to supplement my finding my season. Well, today I found myself recommending your system on a more "traditional" colour analysis video! It was about red hair affecting your colours.
The widely held belief that red hair means you can't be cool (or fully cool) just does not jive with a ton of redheads! My natural colour is a kind of goldish auburn, but I am cool as a cucumber lol seeing this video just further cemented to me that I CAN be bright and cool, and I'm not crazy for feeling like warm colours look terrible on my skin, or that soft colours mute me. I'm just really glad I stumbled into your videos because you have been absolutely the most helpful part of my colour journey!

Thank you for their video! Bright hair and clothes seems to make my skin look too pale. I do have bright eyes, though.

I'm a coppery/strawberry blonde redhead with blueish/greenish eyes and a lot of freckles. I'm bright, not to brag ;)

I just have to say: all the data says that the majority of natural redheads have brown eyes, but ALMOST ALL color chart and makeup videos, blogs, etc are centered on redheads with blue, green or hazel eyes. This drives me nuts! I was a natural redhead with auburn/golden hair and toffee brown eyes. I look great in royal blue, turquoise, indigo and other yellow based blues, black, browns (chocolate to khaki), deep purples, tomato red, greens with a yellow base, burnt orange, charcoal grey and also very light pinks, peachy pinks, and soft dusty mauve. I look *terrible* in lavender, salmon pink or melon (so yuck!!), slate gray or blue, light gray, beige, burgundy, almost all yellows, and fuchsia. trying to find lipsticks that work with my skin is SUPER hard. Also, now that I'm in my 50s, my red hair has faded and is really graying. I'm concerned about what I'll be able to wear when I stop dying my hair - I'm about half gray now and when it grew out it was super shocking! what does a very fair, yellowy/neutral toned person wear when they go gray (which is inherently cool)?

Real redheads don't go grey, they go white or light blonde.

@@screamtoasigh9984 well,of course, but do you say say "my hair is 'whiting' or 'light blonding'' to describe the process? that doesn't make sense.

Oh, wow! Despite my green eyes, you have described my whole “best” and “worst” colors lists! Also, when I no longer have my red hair to build my palette around. I may just have to dye it as close to my natural shade as possible. I was shocked to see my first ash tone in a close-up of my face and hair, in profile, a white streak just above my ear! As shocked as I was to hear someone describe a big man with “salt and pepper” hair and realize they were talking about my dad, who is as ginger as I am, only his hair was dark red. It’s great to hear from other redheads! I often feel some of the generalizations about Springs don’t apply to me (though I was determined Light, Bright and Warm in that order…and definitely Spring). 🧡

So true abt the overemphasis on the colored eyes.

You absolutely right! I’ve got dark copper hair and brown eyes, really pale skin that unfortunately takes an unflattering red when confronted with the sun - and now pure white hair is to be seen too, albeit not much til now😅
So I cannot not find my type here! But I can relate to your color palette.

Need more soft examples! I think I’m soft, I have natural dirty blonde hair with strawberry blonde aspects. My eyes are gray, green. I look best in dusty rose, Aqua colors. I love yellow even though it doesn’t look good on me. I look atrocious in purple and orange. Do more soft examples please!!!

What if I have cool undertones but my hair and eyes are warm? Overall I'm muted and light but I'm stuck between Soft Autumn and maybe something else? I can pull off some bright colors but my worst color is light grey!

I have equal parts BRIGHT red and White blonde which makes me overall sort of a soft but very bright (in the sun) metalic gold. but probably more 14K carat rather than 18K... i guess that's soft? I can wear kind of everything but I do look great in pastels.

What if I have bright copper hair, warm undertones, and deep dark brown eyes? Am I a soft or a bright? Am I a spring or an autumn?? I’ve watched all the quizzes and I can’t figure out my personal features.

Your Color Style isn't seasonal color analysis. You sound like you might be Bright, Warm and medium

If someone were to dye their hair a bright redhead shade, could that shift them from soft into bright potentially?

Black and Brown skinned redheads exist. There are quite a few of them including my mom but she never takes these services seriously because yall seem completely unaware of how diverse and nuanced poc’s coloring actual is.
I hate to tell you this but your quiz is very flawed. Like every other quiz as soon as I selected I had dark features it placed me as deep. I wore those colors and looked stark & tired for months. It wasn’t until I joined a color analysis group that everyone immediately saw I had soft coloring. I actually look best in soft muted colors but when my skin is lighter in winter and spring I can wear light summer colors. Every test (including yours unfortunately) assumes all dark haired POC can handle bright, deep jewel tones and it’s absolutely untrue.

    • @YourColorStyle
      @YourColorStyle  Před 22 dny

Oh no. You misunderstood the information. If you had continued with the quiz, you would have seen that deep just explains a general range. You can then be warm or cool and bright or soft. I have typed several brown skinned women as Soft Cool and Deep. And there are many Bright Cool and Deep brown skinned women that look amazing in light icy cool colors. It depends on their level of contrast. I'm so sorry that you have had a bad experience with other systems. Your Color Style was designed to support ALL skin tones. If I don't show a certain type of person, it is NOT because I don't think they exist. It is because I don't have a photo of them. I want to restate that my system does not say or assume all dark haired women or brown skin women wear bright jewel tones. I agree, it is untrue.
