    Going out for a walk in the middle of nowhere on your own is underrated. I am releasing a flutter app for testing in a month or so, it has been super challenging but I have learnt a lot in the process. I will test out your app and feedback I train in the gym 3 - 5 times a week, weights and cardio. I was thinking the other day a way to record my cardio sessions like how far I rowed in 20 minutes to see improvements there.

    That video is exactly the reason that I love your channel so much! You’re authentic! You’re not trying to advertise yourself as a super coder or a gym freak or whatever! You’re actually super productive, taking care of yourself, travelling, working out, coding… I don’t know many people who can compile all these together! Also that trip that you did alone, invaluable! I wish I could do that too! Keep up the good work Kalle!! Sending love from Greece

  • @KanuKing20
    @KanuKing20 Před 2 lety +43

    As a developer, nature lover and competitive bodybuilder I really love this kind of videos man and that was the driving force behind stumbling upon this channel. I know it gets hard when you are a productive freak but what really helps me ease my mind out a bit is thinking about the process and depicting it in a line across my mind. That helps you put things in perspective by not letting you fall into the daily grind ups and downs. We have our moments so what is really important is consistency and the end goal, and mainly, enjoying the process overall. Keep it up man!

  • @SoothingSoulSymphonies
    @SoothingSoulSymphonies Před 2 lety +29

    Love the honesty of this vid, we only ever see the start and the end result. We never see the middle where 99% of the work is great to see it's just part of the process to be stuck sometimes, keep going the content is amazing!

  • @frederikjrgensen2754
    @frederikjrgensen2754 Před 2 lety +57

    Dude, you've been super productive in terms of taking care of yourself, enjoying nature and creating this video. Even though you are not working on the project, and you feel like you should, just remember how productive you are outside that area. Try looking up James Clear and maybe read his Atomic Habits book, I think you would really like it!

    • @Hallden_
      @Hallden_  Před 2 lety +5

      Yeah I guess that’s the true, and I’m productive in a lot of ways but not so much in the way that specifically counts for the goal of the video if that makes sense.

    Always love the ASMR feel and the effort you put into the cinematic shots. I think we all appreciate the slow/long clips that you put in. Also, the portrayal of the mental battle of coding when things don’t go as you expect is very accurate - don’t beat yourself up about it! Just think, the time spent fighting errors would have needed to have been spent either way, it’s just part of it! Great video.

    I keep coming back to this particular video over and over because it's one of my favorites from Hallden. Something about the combination of continuing to grind away at your project, and and at the same time getting away to a place where you can relax, take a break and get some down time. I'm at that point myself. I think Hallden must have gotten side-tracked on his app or else he's moving on to other things, but I hope he keeps posting occasionally.

On my side I have a full time job and used my two weeks of vacations focusing on my app. Been progressing, been stuck with some bugs and fixed them, but wasn’t as productive as I wanted so I guess it’s normal. 100% would love to be a beta tester, this app seems like it would be hugely useful in my home gym where sometimes I'm limited by apps that do not allow you to create exercises. Sometimes with limited equipment you have to get creative. Especially when some of the exercises you have to do are variations on common exercises.
    Even the ability to name an incline exercise by the degrees of incline helps since different inclines target muscles differently.
