      Yeah. For example, there's how Osiris compares the simulspace to the Ascendant Realm. It took me a bit of thinking, but then I wondered how he would know that. After all, he's *very* familiar with Vex simulations, but he never went into the Ascendant Plane. If anything, he'd compare the AP to the simulation, not the other way around. That was a nice, subtle clue.
      For that matter, notice how he admits that he underestimated the Young Wolf before saying "I won't make that mistake again." That was another red flag.

      @@evanhunt1863 And how he was pushing Lakshmi's hate for the Eliksni in House of Light by judging them like the Fallen clans we've tangoed with so many times leading to her opening the Vex portal in the Last City as well as how he wanted Quria captured, showing some of his true nature as Savathun possessing him. Ironic how even if Savathun attempted to break us in "Season of the Splicer", she helped us begin to form the first steps to the Coalition we currently have now in Lightfall, because her actions allowed us to rally with Mithrax and House Light as well as our other allies, even as she tried to weaken us with her scheming plans.

    I liked this season, however there are a few things I would critique.
    I understand that Lakshmi-2 hated the Eliskni and that she was only brought in to serve as an antagonist on our side, but I wanted to see the other factions involved, at least New Monarchy. Maybe in certain scenes, Hideo would be in them to serve as the more rational side to Lakshmi's argument. New Monarchy was involved in the end, so it would've made since.
    Quria's death felt too weak imo. Quria has been this interesting villain that's been teased alongside Savathûn for years, and after all that, it becomes the boss of a seasonal activity. No dungeon, no raid. It deserved to be in an end game activity.
    One of my favorite aspects of this season was the Eliskni Quarter. It was cool to see the Eliskni living in the City, and Eido's audio logs were a nice touch. However, I feel like it was underused. I was expecting the location to be further developed over the course of the season, but for the most part, it's mostly for show. I wished it played more of a role.
    Override wasn't a bad activity, but I don't see why the maps only change on a weekly cycle. It gets boring quickly. Expunge was nice, although the corrupted versions are a bit lackluster.

      @Awoken_Remmuz Před 3 lety +5

      Personally disagree with Quaria, it is a very important story character and Bungie made it crystal clear if there is one aspect that should be available to *everyone* it's the game story, regardless if ya a hard-core player who raids every week or a casual who only dips in a few hours doing strikes and patrols the occasional weekend.
      So in my book Quaria appearance is perfectly fine as it is because a character like it should be open for anyone to experience.

    • @thefiresworddragon927
      @thefiresworddragon927 Před 3 lety +1

      I can answer Quria. Savathun had bigger plans for her, but we stopped them.
      I should mention, I believe us killing Quria that easily is a testament to how powerful we are. I mean, didn't we kill gods back in Destiny 1 with only a little bit of effort? I swear, half the time we eat gods for breakfast. By video game standards, Quria went down a little whimpy. But by Destiny standards, that was a cakewalk because we had become that strong. I mean, we have almost been a Guardian in Destiny for a decade, if the years going by is the same in-universe. Surely after, what, 7 years, we get strong enough to handle a Vex mind like that. Like, we took down two gods in the first D2 dlc alone, and that's ignoring the raids. We took down a Wish Dragon/Ahamkara. We took down a God King. We took on a Light empowered Ghaul. We took down a Darkness powered Eliksni Kell. Legit, half the opponents we have faced are on the level of gods. Heck, I’m the Inverted Spire Strike in D2, Zavala talks to the Guardian about "what does a battalion of Cabal mean to one who faced the Black Garden?". That was our FIRST victory, and that elevates us above a whole battalion of Cabal!
      I think we just don't realise how awesome we are. And to be fair, I think we still don't. And pretty much every other game, besides Warframe I guess, has us at this level. Mostly cause we don't fight gods.

      @@elitegamer9310 No, like, legit we are scary strong. I think Destiny is one of the few games where they have to limit our capabilities to make anything fair. We might be able to spam Supers like we see in cutscenes.
      Plus the fact we are immortal means Quria doesn't really stand much of a chance.
      Plus, I think I can help with Lakshmi. I'm pretty sure it's almost completely confirmed that she was infected with Savathun's viral song, whatever it was. I think literally the entire New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, and FWC were compromised. Good evidence is that song she says the people "are singing", which fans have pointed out has the same beat as the Shadowkeep theme, aka Savathun's viral song. Shaxx is also infected (due to him singing a similar beat during Season of Dawn), but I don't think that has yet to come up to anything much (though that is less poor writing and more it might soon come up, after all, Savathun really only majorly appeared in Splicer, but before then she wasn't too terribly active aside from Season of the Hunt).
      Savathun has really been pulling the strings for a long ass time, and funnily enough, killing Quria and ending the Endless Night is pretty much the one thing she didn't plan for. I think we should count ourselves lucky, move on from that, and pray that Savathun doesn't murder us in our sleep once she goes back to her Throne World during Witch Queen.

      @@thefiresworddragon927 I don’t know if you’ve tried the new light experience recently but they have deleted most of it from the game.
      You still have to buy Forsaken or shadowkeep to play the campaigns (Forsaken is good but shadowkeep’s story missions are super short and anticlimactic ) and even if a new player does buy the expansions they will have absolutely no understanding of prior events, also recent ones that were only included in season passes.
      I have completed all d1 raids except WotM and I’ve done Leviathan. I hate when they lock an important part of the narrative behind a raid that absolutely don’t have time to pug for.

    • @thefiresworddragon927
      @thefiresworddragon927 Před 3 lety +2

      @@VaLOREant That stuff IS optional though, just thought I'd point that out. And Shadowkeep was done after Bungie basically said "f you" to Activision and went solo. Sorry you missed out on Wrath of The Machine, that was Destiny 1 at its peak. And to defend Forsaken, that dlc was considered to be Destiny's peak when it came to dlc. The raid is considered by many to be the greatest in Destiny history, and that's going up against WOTM and King's Fall. And the story is very well done for what it's worth. Just stating facts straight here. Shadowkeep was lacklustre, but that can be mostly excused due to it being Bungie's first dlc without the financial backing of Activision. Can't expect much from that. The raid did have some beautiful scenery, though is lacklustre in bosses (outside of the one in the middle, that one was great apparently). And Witch Queen, coming up on February 2022, is going to be insane, just from content we are aware of as of right now alone. That's also not even considering the 30th Bungie Anniversary, which brings back the Gjarllhorn, a weapon you should be VERY familiar with. Everything will always be speculation until things get properly experienced by the players, but so far they seem to be doing a good idea, what with this season being 6 months long instead of 3, more time for them to polish out Witch Queen. I mean, they've been hyping that thing up since Beyond Light almost.
      I will not try to convince you to return, that is your choice no matter what I say. If you do decide to return, nothing's keeping you away, and nothing's stopping you from leaving again. You've experienced almost all the best content in Destiny, even I can't say that about myself, I've yet to do a raid (though I want to). There's not much left for you to do that would influence you to stay.
      Just know, no one will judge you for coming back or staying away. Just… don't let people influence you into thinking Destiny is absolute trash. It isn't, you've seen its best after all. And it's nowhere near complete horrible. Most of its lacklustre comes from not getting as much value from what you pay, which has been slightly softened down thanks to it being free (and with crossplay now, which always enhances a game, no matter what).
      I will say one thing though; if you do come back, I am more than okay with doing a few strikes or possibly even a raid with you. I may be a crayon eating Exo Titan Sunbreaker who throws hammers half the time, but I keep at it until the very end. I'm always up for having some fun.
      If you do decide to stay away, don't look back. Forward momentum, always.
