      @@FoghornWashington thanks! I appreciate that some people may want to get a larger solo kayak for camping or fishing. We also looked at solo usage on our review of the Sandbanks Optimal, another kayak which is primarily a tandem but can be used as a large solo

    Do you prefer this model or the yellow one with 1 or 2 seats? Which one do you think is more suitable for sea use? Thanks and congrats for de video!

    • @TheKayakCrew
      @TheKayakCrew  Před 21 dnem +1

      Thanks. Both the ywllow and blue version are pretty much the same, the only difference is that the blue one is 410cm long and the yellow one is 365cm long. They are both 103cm wide in the middle. If you are going to use tandem with 2 people, I prefer the blue version because it has more room. If you are going to use it mostly solo, then the yellow one is a better size. They both perform very similar on the sea though. The blue one is maybe marginally more stable due to it's extra size and weight

      @@TheKayakCrew Thanks for the reply. It's clear to me, I probably use it half the time by myself, so maybe the yellow one is more suitable for me, in addition to saving money. If I finally buy this model, I might buy some larger orange fins that they sell, I don't know if 2 or 3. Do you think it will be worth it?
      Now I'm hesitating with other models that are close in price, WATSSUP COD, AQUAMARINA STEAM 412 or AQUAMARINA MEMBA. Have you had the opportunity to check any of these? The Decathlon one for me has an advantage and it is the guarantee and knowing that for 10 years I will theoretically find spare parts.
      Greetings.

      @@camaradaayuso4347 If you are going to use half the time on your own, then I think the smaller yellow one is probably better for you. I think we initially bought 2 of the longer orange fins for the rear 2 fin slots then ended up also buying a third orange fin for the front fin slot. It depends where you are going to be using it. The longer orange fins also help to stop it 'weather cocking' which is when the cross wind from the side blows the front of the kayak around. I have not tried either if the other 3 kayaks you mention. I know someone who had an Aqua Marina Memba and he did not like it and now has a different kayak. The Aqua Marina Steam looks like it's more suited to Grade 1-3 white water kayaking on fast rivers, has a from reinforced PVC hull. Maybe it is not so good for sea use? I had a look at the Wattsap COD kayak, looks ok. Has some advantages over the Itiwit like higher pressure floor, a splash guard, better carry bag and foot rests. However, the Itiwit is wider so probably more stable and Decathlon (Itiwit) are a better known, established brand. I am not sure if you can paddle the 2 person Wattsup COD kayak solo though? If not, then the yellow Itiwit is the kayak to buy .

      @@TheKayakCrew Thank you for your advice. On the COD kayak it seems that you cannot change the seat to the central position to sail alone, which certainly limits its use. I don't know how well that brand will respond in case of problems. The fact that I can go to any Decathlon store and report the problem to a worker gives me more confidence when using a warranty. I have had problems in the past with items purchased online, so I will probably go for the X100+. I think that 2 seats will be the most versatile option. I would like to use it on the coast of Alicante and the island of Tabarca in Spain, it is open sea, but the waters in the morning are generally calm. Also through some swamps in the center and down calm rivers such as the Hoces del Río Duraton for example. If you haven't visited Spain, I think you'd like its landscapes. You're invited)

      @@camaradaayuso4347 If you want to paddle it a lot solo as well as tandem then I think the yellow X100+ is the best option. You can also paddle the blue X100+ solo but it's quite long to be used solo on your own at 410cm unless you want to take lots of gear with you. Muchas gracias, I do not know that area of Spain but it sounds great for kayaking. At least you do not have to worry about tides in the Mediterranean!

    Hello!
    What paddles did you use-? Does Decathlon have good shovels?

    • @TheKayakCrew
      @TheKayakCrew  Před 2 dny +1

      Sorry late reply. We used Werner Camano paddles. They are quite long, 240cm-250cm. We find these useful for inflatable kayaks because they are mostly quite wide. I have not used any ion the Decathlon paddles so cannot really comment on them. They seem to sell a wide range of different paddles

      @@Kliffy123 Hi, that is strange. I wonder if there is something wrong with the slots? Are you trying to fit the standard black find or the longer orange Itiwit SUP fins? I have used 2 Itiwit kayaks and not had a problem with the fins fitting
