  • Hello! This is the first in the series of videos about powerwheels modification. Here I am installing a brake reduction module to my son's powerwheels. Technically its just a resistor that dampens the stopping of the two rear motors that drive a powerwheels toy. I am using a 25 Watt - 1 Ohm resistor that i bought from amazon, you can get it pretty much everywhere.
    Difficulty Level - 1 out of 5
Purpose - Slows down the braking and thus helps relieve stress on the gears due to the stopping of the vehicle, especially when you are replacing the stock plastic wheels with pneumatic ones. the pneumatic or rubber tires have a lot of traction and so any abrupt braking will wear off the gears much quickly than the stock plastic wheels.
    I hope this helps!

How did it work? Has it lasted a long time? Any problems? I'm looking at buying the same product for my son's power wheels

It's still running. I just cleaned it up for this season!

@@allthingsdiy7975does this modification also create soft start? My son's power wheel makes him jerk when he presses the pedal.

Was it a shorter stopping distance?

It would be a longer, smoother stopping distance.
