How I Transfer a Digital drawing onto a Lino block

  • For this method you don't need any special paper, just print out your design on normal copy paper. With acetone or nailpolish remover the toner from your print transfers right onto your lino. Watch the video to see exactly how i do this :)
    First video with voiceover! Recording this was quite a challenge but I like how it turned out and I hope it'll help some of you out there :)

    Essdee Softcut carving block / linoleum
    Acetone / nailpolish remover that contains acetone
    cotton balls /wipes
    design printed on normal paper
    (optional: acrylic paint / lino printing ink)

    Thank you for this helpful video! Your process and explanation were really great. Now I know how I’ll tackle the transfer to my 9x12 Softcut blocks. I’m attempting a 4-color linocut print and also nervous about registration.

      Glad I could help you with my video! 4-color linocut sounds awesome, I‘m sure it‘ll look great! Personally I‘ve never done one before so can’t give any advice on registration. But I‘ve seen a lot of other helpful videos about the topic, there are little clips you can buy for example that make the paper line up again each time :)
