How I Transfer a Digital drawing onto a Lino block
zhlédnutí 853Před rokem
For this method you don't need any special paper, just print out your design on normal copy paper. With acetone or nailpolish remover the toner from your print transfers right onto your lino. Watch the video to see exactly how i do this :) First video with voiceover! Recording this was quite a challenge but I like how it turned out and I hope it'll help some of you out there :) SOCIAL MEDIA Ets...

For this one I just wanted to make a simple design of my favorite animal: the barn owl. I took the reference picture myself so this felt extra special and I really like the outcome. How did you transfer your drawing onto your block. The final work is stunning!
Thank you! I have a whole video in which I show how I usually transfer my drawings. It‘s one of my recent uploads :)
Great work
thank you!
Aww the cutie patoodieeeee
I found this I was surprised because it’s my birthday Saturday ❤
Also amazing emanation you have!! The cards are very nice and unique!!!!
This was so satisfying, your skills are extraordinary!! 💕
Thank you so much 🥰💗
omg, i love this!! you did amazing. I cant imagine the patience that goes into this!? Do you happen to have a link to where you get the rubber stamp pad & tools? I've been wanting to do stamps for forever and recommendations would be lovely <3333
Thank you so much! All the materials I‘ve used are in the description but I don’t have any links because I bought most of it from a local store in germany. The block is called essdee softcut and the tools are from Pfeil. They are big brands tho so you‘ll definitely find them in online shops as well. Pfeil is quite expensive but worth the money. Essdee also has some cheaper beginner tools. Tho not as great as Pfeil they are a good option for starting out. I created several pieces with their tools before upgrading to Pfeil. Let me know if you need any more help or info :)
Extraordinary!!!
Omg wow!
Super👏
That is an insane amount of detail. I sincerely hope more people get to see this view into what is a hugely rewarding artform.
Thank you! Yes it’s so satisfying to pull the first print and see all the details come to life with the ink ❤
<3
There is soooo many details, it's really impressive with such a beautiful result. Amazing work as always! And it was also very peaceful to watch the process 🖤
Thank you Fiona! 🥰❤
beautiful print and nice work on the fur texture!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful! What ink do you use for your postcards?
Thank you! I use Cranfield Caligo safe wash relief ink in black :)
so amazing
thank you!
How did you get the drawing on to the lino? Specially with so much detail!
I have a whole video about this process, just look at my latest upload! :)
@@aryalynx Thanks!
Thank you for this helpful video! Your process and explanation were really great. Now I know how I’ll tackle the transfer to my 9x12 Softcut blocks. I’m attempting a 4-color linocut print and also nervous about registration.
Glad I could help you with my video! 4-color linocut sounds awesome, I‘m sure it‘ll look great! Personally I‘ve never done one before so can’t give any advice on registration. But I‘ve seen a lot of other helpful videos about the topic, there are little clips you can buy for example that make the paper line up again each time :)
🥰🥰 love
<3
Its really nice and calming it's beautiful ❤
Thank you!
Está genial
Thank you :)
Cool
this is such a beautiful print 🥰 also those tools are so sharp and precise-I need them!!
Thank you very much! They are Pfeil tools, I really like them, definitely recommend :)

Beautiful print and nice documentation. Never thought about using a ruler with a lino-carving-knife. I‘ll try that sometimes ✌

Finally taking the time to catch up on your videos and Gosh, the amount of work/details for this one is amazing! I'm even more excited to receive my print after watching your video 😍 incredible job as always!
Thank you so much! I hope the print will arrive soon and will live up to the expectations <3

Aaaaaah instant subscribe! I do linocut prints, but not even close to your level of detail! Good gravy! I can’t wait to watch your channel grow!
Oh thank you so much! <3 I’m gonna upload a new video soon, hope you’ll like that one as well!
Perfect print!
Thank you! <3
How cute! Did you use a needle for the stars? ✨
Thank you! No, just the smallest lino tool that I had :)
@@aryalynx thanks the reply!I have favourited your shop, your jewellry is lovely too! Keep up the good work 😊
@@everykneeshallbow8861 Ohh thank you so much it means a lot to me! <3
It came out great! How do you like that Woodzilla press? I have been looking to get one and wondering if you recommend it?
Thank you! I really like it, gives me nice prints. Can’t compare it to a cylinder press though as I‘ve never used one. With the Woodzilla I sometimes have spots that don’t give enough pressure but I‘ve always found a way to make it work and get a perfect print regardless. Also it’s really nice for fabric printing too :)
@@aryalynx thanks so much, I appreciate it!
Which blocks are you using for this piece?
I use essdee softcut :)
Such a sweet design! How did you transfer it onto the lino? Thanks 🤗
Thank you! I created the design digitally and printed it on paper with a laser printer. I then put the paper face down on the lino and dabbed it with a cottonball soaked with acetone (or nailpolish remover) and after a few seconds I take off the paper and the design has transferred to the lino. Hope this helps!
@@aryalynx clever! Thanks for the reply :)

The window look so 3-Dimensional for 3 seconds I thought „you have to turn it down first so everything lays flat befor puuting paint on it“
Does the stamp itself degrade over time? I was watching another video and they mentioned how the blocks can get crumbly if left unused, and I was wondering if the stamps themselves would start to crumble after a few years.
Well I've only been actively printing since a few months so I don't really have much of a long term experience. But I'm sure the material won't stay the same over the years I think it can dry out and some materials might even crumble. I had a softer block that I used before I found my current one and I can definitely imagine that it'll get dry and crumbly as the years pass. I think it depends on how good you store them tho. I carved one about 3 years ago and it looks the same today so I think it needs quite a bit of time to actually degrade to the point it's unusable :)
@@aryalynx Ok, thank you very much for your insight. I really want to give this a try, it seems really calming, but I think I'll start with smaller stamps just to see how the material holds up.
@@PumpkinPails Sure, give it a try!
@@PumpkinPails i think this is soft lino, which is some kind of vinyl or other synthetic material. What you learned sounds right for the original, natural linoplates. I think that this is mostly a problem if you want to carve in an old piece. They become hard and crumbly, so its definitely more difficult to work with. So you want to cut fresh lino. I dont know how it effects printing with an allready carved old piece. I think it will stay allright to do so though.
